Long-Term Effectiveness And Safety Of CP-690,550 For The Treatment Of Rheumatoid Arthritis

Start date: February 5, 2007
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine the long-term effectiveness and safety of CP-690,550 for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. Subjects are eligible for this study only after participating in another "qualifying" study of CP-690,550 A sub-study will be conducted within the A3921024 study, this study will evaluate the immune response to pneumococcal and influenza vaccines in patients receiving CP-690,550

NCT ID: NCT00413192 Completed - Soft Tissue Sarcoma Clinical Trials

E7389 Administered as an IV Bolus Infusion Day 1 and Day 8 Every 3 Weeks in Pre-Treated Patients With Advanced and/or Metastatic Soft Tissue Sarcoma

Start date: January 2007
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the therapeutic activity and safety of E7389 in patients with advanced/metastatic soft tissue sarcoma who have failed standard chemotherapy.

NCT ID: NCT00413075 Completed - Lymphoma Clinical Trials

Study of Oral PXD101 in Patients With Advanced Solid Tumors or Lymphoma

Start date: June 2006
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This is a Phase I dose escalation study of PXD101 administered orally. Oral belinostat will be given once or twice daily at various dosing schedules to patients with solid tumors. Doses will be escalated until the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) is identified. In parallel, a cohort of lymphoma patients will be given oral belinostat on a discontinuous once daily dosing schedule.

NCT ID: NCT00412984 Completed - Atrial Fibrillation Clinical Trials

Apixaban for the Prevention of Stroke in Subjects With Atrial Fibrillation

ARISTOTLE
Start date: December 31, 2006
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The trial seeks to determine if apixaban, an investigational anticoagulant (blood-thinner) is as effective as standard therapy (warfarin) in preventing stroke and systemic embolism in subjects with atrial fibrillation and risk factors for stroke.

NCT ID: NCT00412971 Completed - Bladder Cancer Clinical Trials

A Randomized, Comparative Study of Hexvix Fluorescence Cystoscopy and Standard Cystoscopy in Patients With Non-invasive Bladder Cancer

Start date: April 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The main objective of the study is to compare the 1-year recurrence rate of Hexvix assisted Transuretheral Resection of the Bladder (TURB) to standard white light TURB in patients with suspicion of non-invasive bladder cancer. The hypothesis is to test whether the 1-year recurrence rate is different with Hexvix assisted TURB compared to standard white light TURB.

NCT ID: NCT00412906 Completed - Healthy Clinical Trials

Study of Gene Activity in Fat and Muscle in Diabetics and Healthy Controls

Start date: November 2006
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of the present protocol is to study gene activity in fat and muscle tissue in type 2 diabetics and healthy volunteers after injection of E. coli endotoxin. We hereby hope to gain insight in some mechanisms behind the association between inflammation and insulin resistance.

NCT ID: NCT00412555 Completed - Influenza Clinical Trials

A Study of Tamiflu (Oseltamivir) for Seasonal Prophylaxis of Influenza in Children.

Start date: December 2006
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This study will evaluate the safety of Tamiflu, when used for the prevention of influenza in children during the flu season. Children who would benefit from influenza prophylaxis when influenza is circulating in the community will receive treatment with Tamiflu syrup (or capsules) 30mg-75mg once daily (dependent on body weight) for 6 weeks. Safety data and influenza symptoms will be recorded throughout the study. The anticipated time on study treatment is <3 months, and the target sample size is <100 individuals.

NCT ID: NCT00411736 Completed - Cystic Fibrosis Clinical Trials

Scandinavian Cystic Fibrosis Azithromycin Study

Start date: May 2008
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

In patients with Cystic Fibrosis, recurrent airway infection caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa ultimately leads to chronic airway infection. The purpose of this study is to determine whether supplementary low-dose azithromycin to standard inhaled colistin and oral ciprofloxacin in the treatment of intermittent pseudomonas airway-infection can postpone the next episode of intermittent pseudomonas airway-infection and prevent development of chronic airway-infection.

NCT ID: NCT00411411 Completed - Type 2 Diabetes Clinical Trials

Long Term Effects of DPP-IV Inhibitor Treatment in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes

Start date: February 2007
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

We wish to evaluate the effect of long term treatment with a DPP-IV inhibitor on the function of the incretin hormones Hypothesis We hypothesize that that a gradual improvement in metabolic control induced by DPP-IV inhibitor (Januvia®) treatment significantly ameliorates the impaired secretion and potency of GLP-1 and leads to a restoration of the lost action of GIP.

NCT ID: NCT00411125 Completed - Clinical trials for Postmenopausal Osteoporosis

Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics Study of Oral Salmon Calcitonin in Healthy Postmenopausal Women

Start date: August 2006
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This is a phase I study to analyze bioavailability and pharmacodynamic of two different variants of oral salmon calcitonin (SMC021) in postmenopausal women
