There are about 11304 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Denmark. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the PROMUS Elementâ„¢ Everolimus-Eluting Coronary Stent System for the treatment of patients with up to 2 de novo atherosclerotic coronary artery lesions. This clinical trial compares outcomes in patients treated with PROMUS Element to those in patients treated with a different everolimus-eluting coronary stent. The lesions are of average length in average-sized vessels ("workhorse"). A companion sub-trial evaluates outcomes in smaller vessels (SV) and another sub-trial evaluates outcomes in longer lesions (LL).
Probiotics has been known as a dietary supplement for a long period. Recent clinical trials indicate that probiotics might have an effect in preventing common infection diseases in children. The investigators hypothesis is: if young children in the age of 6 month to 15 mdr. has a daily intake of a suspension containing probiotics in a period of 9 months, the incidence of diarrhoea and respiratory diseases can be reduced.
The presence of an abnormally increased pulmonary blood pressure worsens the prognosis of patients with interstitial pulmonary disease. The aim of this study is to estimate the frequency of an increased blood pressure in the lungs among patient with interstitial pulmonary disease, and to evaluate the use of different biomarkers in diagnosis of the condition.
This open label study was designed to evaluate Lapatinib effect on incidence of brain metastases in ErbB2 (HER2) positive metastatic breast cancer patients exposed to prior taxanes or anthracyclines.
Enhanced and prolonged postprandial triglyceride responses involve increased cardiovascular risk in type 2 diabetes. It has been demonstrated that dietary fat and carbohydrates profoundly influence postprandial hypertriglyceridemia in type 2 diabetes, whereas little information exists about the effect of proteins. The purpose of this study is to compare the effects of the milk proteins casein, Whey Isolate, Whey Hydrolysate, and Alphalact-Albumin on postprandial lipid and incretin responses to a high-fat meal in type 2 diabetes.
The purpose of this study is to investigate if intramuscular PEG-asparaginase administered either at six or two week intervals from day 92 until 8 months from diagnosis for patients with non-HR ALL will result in equal probability of Event Free Survival
The purpose of this trial was to find an optimal dose for a new trial drug - degarelix (FE200486) - in the treatment of prostate cancer. Furthermore the safety of the drug was studied. Patients participating were treated with FE200486 on one occasion. Thereafter they came in for visits following a specific schedule until blood samples showed that there was no further effect.
Studies show that depression is a risk factor for the development of coronary artery disease (CAD). Furthermore there is an increased occurrence of depression in patients with CAD. Among other mechanisms atherosclerosis is believed to play a central role regarding these notable associations between depression and CAD. Moreover, patients with late onset major depression have an increased number of small lesions found in the white matter of the brain, the so-called white matter lesions. The main goal of this project is to examine if CAD is associated with depression and/or white matter lesions. CAD is evaluated using coronary CT angiography. Depression is evaluated using a semi-structured diagnostic interview. White matter lesions are quantified using cerebral magnetic resonance.
The purpose of this study is to compare the effects of the proteins casein, whey, cod, and gluten on postprandial lipid and incretin responses to a high-fat meal in type 2 diabetes.
Hypothesis: under fasting there will primarily be an activation of growth hormone(GH) signalpathways and a inhibition of insulin signalpathways, and the opposite will happen under physical activity. Primarily we will investigate markers for GH and insulin signaltransduction in muscle- and fat-biopsies after fasting for 72 hours and after 1 hour of ergometer-cycling at 65% Vo2max. In addition to this we will investigate the effect of fasting and exercise on the velocity of carbamide synthesis, aminoacid rate of turnover and glucose rate of turnover.
