Mechanism for Exercise to Delay Cardiac Aging

The goal of this clinicaltrial is to assess and compare isokinetic performance, surface electromyography, laboratory parameters, and cardiorespiratory function both before and after engaging in vigorous intermittent lifestyle physical activity(VILPA) within a healthy population. The main question it aims to answer is: [1] Does VILPA yield effective outcomes? Throughout the course of the trial, participants will engage in a simulated regimen of vigorous intermittent lifestyle physical activity for a duration of 8 weeks. The efficacy of the exercise protocol will be quantified and evaluated through the utilization of a wearable device.

The goal of this interventional study is to test whether consumption of Wonderlab probiotics with prebiotics could improve obesity and overweight in Chinese people who are aged 25-45 and overweight. The main question it aims to answer is: - whether the weight of participants can be lost after 10 weeks' intervention 150 participants will be randomized into 3 study groups (50 each group) in the two study sites, who will consume assigned product according to instructions for 10 weeks. Three site visits will be made for each participant and all relevant clinical data will be captured and recorded into CTMS(Clinical Trial Management System) for statistical analysis. Researchers will compare the three groups to conclude whether the Wonderlab study product can improve obesity and overweight over placebo product.

Effects of T-bet B Cells in Persistent Virus Control After Discontinuance of NAs in CHB Patients

The immune mechanism of the nucleos(t)ide analogs (NAs) in inhibiting HBV replication effectively while having a low sustained virus control rate after drug withdrawal is unclear. B cell immunity and antibody response are the keys to prevent HBV reinfection and keep the virus under control. T-bet+ B, which can be regulated by IL-21, is a newly discovered major effector B cell in protection of pathogens and it is a main subtype of HBsAg-specific B cells. Thus, we suspect that T-bet+ B may play a role in ongoing controlling of the virus after withdraw of NAs in CHB patient. Based on our previous studies on CHB immunity, we use the RNAseq analyse, flow cytometry, and Elispot assay to analyze the frequency, function, and phenotype of B cells in CHB patients with different profiles after withdraw of NAs.

Preoperative Inflammatory Status and Postoperative Acute Kidney Injury

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common complication during the early postoperative period after noncardiac surgery. Patients with AKI are at an increased risk of developing chronic kidney disease, prolonging hospitalization, and experiencing higher rates of morbidity and mortality. Identifying preoperative risk factors for postoperative AKI can significantly contribute to the development of preventive strategies and improved perioperative care in this vulnerable patient population. The goal of this retrospective study is to investigate the predictive value of preoperative inflammatory status, as measured by complete blood count-derived inflammatory markers, such as the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR), derived neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (dNLR), neutrophil-to-lymphocyte*platelet ratio (NLPR), systemic immune-inflammatory index (SII), systemic inflammatory response index (SIRI), and aggregate index of systemic inflammation (AISI), on postoperative AKI in elderly patients undergoing non-cardiac surgery.
