Registry on the Treatment of Central and Complex Sleep-Disordered Breathing With Adaptive Servo-Ventilation

Phase 1: The European ASV Registry (short name) will investigate the use of Adaptive Servo-Ventilation in non-heart failure conditions. The purpose is to examine the effects of ASV on quality of life, daytime symptoms and sleep, to describe usage patterns of ASV with regards to patient characteristics and to document adverse events related to therapy for a therapy safety analysis. A pilot phase will enrol at least 200 patients to test the feasibility of the registry. After the pilot phase will be completed and an intermediate data analysis had been performed, the registry will be expanded over several countries across Europe with the goal of enrolling up to 800 patients over a period of 5 years. Phase 2: The READ-ASV Registry (short name) will investigate the use of Adaptive Servo-Ventilation in non-heart failure conditions. The objective of the ADDIA clinical Proof-of-Performance study is to validate the performance of ADDIA' blood biomarkers for diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease (AD). ADDIA clinical study is a multi-centre, non-interventional, prospective, proof-of-performance study with only one visit. About 800 well-characterized subjects will be recruited into 3 groups in 2:1:1 ratio, namely patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD), patients with non-AD neurodegenerative disease (NAD) and 200 control subjects (healthy as compared to their age). - 400 patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD): 200 patients with mild AD, 200 patients with moderate-to-severe AD, - 200 patients with non-Alzheimer's neurodegenerative diseases (NAD), - 200 controls (healthy as compared to their age).

Micro-nutritional Status and Gut Microbiota in Morbidly Obese Patients Before and After Gastric Bypass

An intervention study design in 90 obese patients will be used. Nutritional, metabolic and psychological status as well as gut microbiota will be evaluated before gastric bypass and 6 months post surgery. During this period of 6 months, all patients will receive a specific diet according to recommendation with regard to bariatric surgery. Subjects will be than randomized in 2 sub-groups: A. patients receiving a standard healthy diet without micro-nutriments' supplementation; B. patients receiving a healthy diet and probiotics, minerals, aminoacids, omega-3 acids vitamin and mineral supplementation

Virtual Reality Stimulation to Enhance Cognitive Function of Intensive Care Unit Patients

An observational study will be conducted in the ICU (Intensive care unit) including patients with heart surgery (< 5 days) and prolonged ICU stay (> 5 days). Patients will receive 5 min Virtual reality stimulation per day. A modified version of the Oculus Rift VR glasses (Facebook inc., USA) with stereoscopic vision and stereo sound will be used to present the virtual world to patients. An integrated eye tracker will measure oculomotor responses that will be synchronized with the physiological data recording. All participants will undergo neuropsychological testing after ICU stay, and after a three-months follow-up. Quality of life prior to the ICU stay will be enquired from relatives. Main outcome variable is the explorative behaviour (attention). Secondary outcomes are the quality of life and cognitive functioning.

Management of High Bleeding Risk Patients Post Bioresorbable Polymer Coated Stent Implantation With an Abbreviated Versus Prolonged DAPT Regimen

The study compares two lengths of medication therapy (a shortened versus a prolonged dual antiplatelet therapy) in order to prevent thrombus (blood cloth) formation after the successfully treatment for coronary heart disease with a drug covered stent (metallic tube). This comparison will be done in patients who, compared to the average patient, are more likely to suffer from complications on antiplatelet therapy (bleeding). Both durations are within the current medical recommendations. The aim of this study is to help improve further standard antiplatelet duration guidelines.
