There are about 9403 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Switzerland. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Participants to the study will be assigned to 5 cohorts according to the stage of disease and planned antitumor treatment at time of study entry. In all patients, 12 ml of blood sample will be collected in EDTA tube for analysis of biological biomarkers in different time points.
With our SWIDINEP cohort, we propose to explore the relationship between vascular risk markers and renal function decline in CKD stage 1-5. In order to realize these goals, we intend to recruit 200 patients within a 7y recruitment period (2014-2021). Recruitment is done in the nephrology and diabetes ambulatory clinics in the CHUV at Lausanne. Each eligible patient is identified and whether he/she can be proposed the study is discussed with the physician in charge of the patient. Once the patient is informed and has signed the consent form, he/she is examined in the Service of Nephrology at baseline, 2y and 5y.
The main objective is to demonstrate that the addition of neoadjuvant and adjuvant immunotherapy with durvalumab, to standard neoadjuvant chemotherapy (with cisplatin/gemcitabine) and surgery in urothelial carcinoma could improve event-free survival.
The aim of this study is to evaluate whether a local perianal block performed during a proctological intervention can reduce the postoperative pain.
A high physical fitness is crucial for a good quality of life in persons suffering from a spinal cord injury. The aim of the present observational study is to investigate the influence of an individually tailored 8-week endurance training program on endurance performance of patients with a paraplegia during their first rehabilitation.
The resistivity measurements will be done by introducing a needle-probe into fresh healthy, peritumoral, and tumoral ex vivo tissues.
The purpose of the study is to assess the efficacy and safety of single-agent olaparib as a maintenance treatment in patients with relapsed High Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer (including patients with primary peritoneal and/or fallopian tube cancer) or high grade endometrioid cancer who do not have known deleterious or suspected deleterious germline BRCA mutations (non-gBRCAm) and who had responded following platinum based chemotherapy
Current guidelines recommend radiofrequency catheter ablation of the cavotricuspid isthmus as treatment for symptomatic/drug-refractory atrial flutter, in spite of the fact that recurrences of flutter and incidence of post-ablation atrial fibrillation are common. In this study, the investigators assess the hypothesis that the use of cryoballoon Pulmonary Vein Isolation ('novel' treatment) to achieve the electrical disconnection between the pulmonary veins and the heart will lead to higher rates of freedom from abnormal heart rhythms (atrial flutter, atrial fibrillation, or atrial tachycardia) and more improved quality of life than treatment using heat energy (radiofrequency ablation) directed at the cavotricuspid isthmus ('conventional treatment').
The purpose of this study is to investigate experimental medication BMS-986253 in combination with Nivolumab or Nivolumab plus Ipilimumab in participants with advanced cancers.
The objective of this prospective cohort study is to determine the prevalence of obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) in patients with and without thoracic aortic aneurysm.
