The project leaders plan to create a clinical decision support (CDS) system by programming a self-learning software to analyze the cardiotocography (CTG) traces in the - already existing - database from the maternity department of the Inselspital Berne. The project leaders will process and analyze all clinical outcomes of the estimated 10000-15000 eligible patient records. CSEM will design, develop, and validate several AI architectures with the intend to create the CDS system. The AI would learn to assist on this task by training machine learning (ML) algorithms. The main purpose of the AI-CDS will be to determine the best fetal extraction moment during labor, based on a self-learning approach, as a "superhuman" support tool for obstetricians in decision making during labor.

This study is to evaluate the feasibility of myocardial Standardized Uptake Volume (SUV) assessment by means of X- (Single photon emission tomography) SPECT/Computed tomography (CT), to assess normal reference value under rest and stress in a homogeneous population without Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) and to assess the variation of absolute quantitative SUV measurements under rest and stress. The values will be evaluated in comparison with perfusion Positron Emission Tomography (PET)/CT (using 82Rb as perfusion tracer) and CT coronary angiography (CTCA) with contrast medium.).

Impact of Chair Seat Height on the 1-Minute Sit to Stand Test Performance in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

The 1-minute sit to stand (1-min STS) test is a standardized test which is used to examine exercise capacity in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The chair seat height used is standardized to 46-48 cm. Using a standard seat height for all patients - irrespective of their body height - may lead to invalid estimates of functional exercise capacity. The objective of this study is to assess whether there is a difference in repetitions during the 1-min STS test if the seat height is adjusted to 90° knee joint angle or the standard height chair of 46 cm is used.
