There are about 10004 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Brazil. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Theme: The reading of fixed texts in school are widely known, however it is not known how they read texts furniture and what skills are required for this type of reading. Objective: To evaluate the skills of reading film subtitles in students of 2nd and 4th grade of elementary school of a Public School. Method: Review the level and skills of reading movies subtitles (RMS), through the recounting of a section of film watched, alone, mute and legend, for 60 students (30 2nd grade and 30 of the 4th grade) matched for age and gender.
Despite the physiologic and clinical effects provided by coupling nebulization with noninvasive ventilation in asthma exacerbation, there are few and controversial studies reported in the literature.
Comparison of 3 dosing regimens of Advagraf to determine if there is a dosing regimen which may have the potential to cause fewer kidney problems.
The aim of this study was to assess the clinical performance of two different ke0s (fast and slow) in terms of propofol effect-site concentration (Ce) during the loss and recovery of consciousness, using Marsh's pharmacokinetic model. The hypothesis to be tested was that the Ce of propofol predicted by the slow ke0 in the loss and recovery of consciousness is similar, differently from the fast ke0.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate effectiveness, tolerability (how well a participant can stand a particular medicine or treatment), and safety of flexible-dose of paliperidone extended release (ER) in participants with schizophrenia (psychiatric disorder with symptoms of emotional instability, detachment from reality, often with delusions and hallucinations, and withdrawal into the self), previously taking risperidone (an antipsychotic), but who are not satisfied with their treatment.
There is a lack of evidence of the long-term successful outcomes of antimicrobial endodontic treatment for primary teeth. This study intended to evaluate (by survival analysis) the effectiveness of an antimicrobial pulpotomy (chloramphenicol, tetracycline, zinc oxide/eugenol) in primary molars compared to calcium hydroxide pulpectomy, testing the hypothesis that antimicrobial pulpotomy could be an alternative pulp therapy for primary teeth with pulp inflammation or necrosis.
This open-label, randomized, 3-arm study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of obinutuzumab (RO5072759) in combination with chlorambucil as compared to rituximab plus chlorambucil or chlorambucil alone in patients with previously untreated chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Patients will be randomized 2:2:1 to receive a maximum of six 28-day cycles of either RO5072759 (1000 mg intravenous (iv) infusion, on days 1, 8 and 15 of cycle 1 and day 1 of cycles 2-6) plus chlorambucil (0.5 mg/kg orally, days 1 and 15 of cycles 1-6), or rituximab (iv infusion day 1, 375 mg/m^2 cycle 1, 500 mg/m^2 cycles 2-6) plus chlorambucil, or chlorambucil alone. Anticipated time on study treatment is >6 months and follow-up for disease-progression and safety will be at least 5 years. In the US, this trial is sponsored/managed by Genentech.
The diabetic dyslipidemia is one of the most important risk factor in the development of coronary artery disease. The low density lipoprotein (LDL)-like nanoemulsions is being used to study the clearance of cholesteryl ester and free cholesterol from intravascular in patients with advanced coronary artery disease and it was shown a higher removal of free cholesterol and higher deposit in vases of this patients. The aim of this study is to analyze the plasma kinetics of both forms of cholesterol(free ad esterified) in type 2 diabetes patients without a previous history of cardiovascular disease.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the analgesic effect of oral potassium diclofenac in patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy submitted to retinal photocoagulation. Two groups of patients were followed and the effect of the treatment (diclofenac plus laser) was compared to placebo (placebo plus laser). Pain associated with treatment was recorded using a Visual Analog Scale 15 minutes after the procedure.
This randomized, double-blind, parallel group study will assess the safety, disease remission, and prevention of structural joint damage in patients with early moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis treated with tocilizumab as monotherapy or in combination with methotrexate, versus methotrexate alone. Patients will be randomized to receive either (A) tocilizumab (8 mg/kg iv every 4 weeks) plus placebo, (B) tocilizumab (8 mg/kg iv every 4 weeks) plus methotrexate (7.5-20 mg po weekly), (C) tocilizumab (4 mg/kg iv every 4 weeks) plus methotrexate (7.5-20 mg po weekly), or (D) placebo plus methotrexate (7.5-20 mg po weekly). Patients in groups C and D who have not achieved low disease activity at week 52 can receive tocilizumab 8 mg/kg iv every 4 weeks. Anticipated time on study treatment is 104 weeks.
