This is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study that will investigate the safety and clinical activity of a single intravenous (IV) dose of MHAA4549A in adult participants hospitalized with severe influenza A in combination with oseltamivir versus a comparator arm of placebo with oseltamivir.
The purpose of this study is to estimate the risk of bleeding with rivaroxaban, compared with acetylsalicylic acid (ASA), in addition to a single antiplatelet/ platelet adenosine diphosphate P2Y12 receptor antagonist (P2Y12 inhibitor agent: clopidogrel or ticagrelor), in participants with a recent acute coronary syndrome (ACS: including ST segment elevation myocardial infarction [STEMI] and non-ST-segment elevation acute coronary syndrome [NSTE-ACS]).

Introduction: the influence of temporomandibular disorders (TMD) related to postural changes are yet no consensus, but it is believed that the imbalances of a system can influence another. Several techniques have been used to treat TMD and its associated problems, however there is a paucity of studies evaluating the effects of global treatments, such as Pilates, in individuals with TMD literature. Objective: To evaluate changes in the level of pain, the severity of TMD, the EMG activity of masticatory muscles and posture of young women undergoing training in Pilates, as well as correlating postural changes, pain level, severity of TMD and EMG activity of masticatory muscles. A randomized clinical trial with blinded assessors will be held. 40 patients divided randomly into two groups will be assessed, the control group (CG) who receive conventional treatment with occlusal splint and intervention group (IG), which in addition to conventional treatment will undergo Pilates sessions. Both groups will be formed for women aged 18 to 35 years with TMD and pain. The IG will receive treatment with the Pilates Method for 15 weeks with frequency of twice weekly and use occlusal splint as directed by the dentist. The CG will make use of occlusal splint alone. At the beginning and end of the 15 weeks the individuals are evaluated to verify the presence of TMD, TMD severity, pain, EMG evaluation of masticatory muscles and body posture. Data will be analyzed statistically.
This randomized, multi-center, active-controlled, open-label, parallel-group study will investigate the efficacy and safety of biomarker-driven maintenance treatment for first-line mCRC. Participants with mCRC are eligible for entry and cannot have received any prior chemotherapy in the metastatic setting. The entire study duration is anticipated to be approximately 7.5 years.

Confocal endomicroscopy is an emerging technique that allows in vivo imaging of cells and tissue structures of the gastrointestinal mucosa, with a magnification of about 1000 times, guiding optical biopsies in real time. Confocal endomicroscopy represents technique that combines conventional white light image with the confocal microscope probe, thereby allowing examination of the surface epithelium in vivo and histological diagnosis during endoscopy. Among the applications already established for its use, stand out diagnosis of Barrett's esophagus, gastric atrophy and intestinal metaplasia, celiac disease, differentiation of hyperplastic adenomatous polyps of the colon, microscopic colitis and follow-up of patients with inflammatory disease, reducing the need for endoscopic biopsies. The CLE can still detect molecular changes effectively improving the endoscopic diagnosis. This pilot project consists of 07 subprojects which the technology of confocal endomicroscopia will be evaluated and compared with the histological results of biopsy or surgical specimens: 1. confocal endomicroscopy for the diagnosis of high-grade dysplasia and superficial esophageal adenocarcinoma in patients with Barrett's esophagus 2 Diagnosis of superficial esophageal squamous cell carcinoma in patients with head and neck cancer by confocal endomicroscopy 3 Detect the presence of premalignant lesions in the gastric stump in patients with reflux alkaline gastritis after partial gastrectomy 4. detect lesions in the gastric mucosa of patients with familial history of gastric cancer 5 Biliary Strictures: differential diagnosis by confocal endomicroscopia 6 confocal Endomicroscopy of cystic neoplasms of the pancreas 7 Contribution of confocal endomicroscopy for the differential diagnosis of colorectal polyps The project aims to deploy the structure of the Confocal endomicroscopy Endoscopy ICESP, for performing in vivo histological examinations of the digestive tract, biliary tract and pancreas. All research groups involved in the early detection of tumors of the esophagus, stomach, biliary tract, pancreas, colon and rectum may benefit from the implementation of this methodology.
There is still extensive debate on the best method of controlling the behavior of preschool children during dental treatment. Protective stabilization, moderate sedation and general anesthesia are advanced behavior control techniques indicated for the dental treatment of early childhood caries and offer advantages and disadvantages during the procedure or immediately after. Many children with early childhood caries require invasive dental treatment. According to the final report of a large epidemiological survey on the oral condition of Brazilians, five-year-old children had an average of 2.43 primary teeth with caries and fewer than 20% of these had been treated in 2010. This disease also remains a public health problem in most developed countries; 19.5% of 2-5-year-old American children have untreated cavities. There is, however, a lack of the ideal sedative. Such drugs must, on the one hand, control the behavior of integral form, provide amnesia, minimizing physical discomfort, distress and pain, and, on the other, safeguard security, with minimal effect on the cardio-respiratory function, minimizing the occurrence of adverse events, as well as allowing the return of the patient to a State that allows high safely. The investigators thus performed this prospective study with the aim to assess the occurrence of adverse events during dental treatment and in the first 24 hours after sedation with midazolam, ketamine and sevoflurane in children aged four to six years. Our hypothesis was that no differences in adverse events among different association of drugs could be found.
