The e-Ultimaster will further validate the safety and efficacy of Ultimaster DES system in unselected patients representing everyday clinical practice. Also the study will assess the impact of non-compliance with dual antiplatelet therapy, one month after stent implementation (frequently observed in every day clinical practice), on stent thrombosis.
The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of ixazomib citrate maintenance therapy on progression-free survival (PFS), compared to placebo, in participants with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDMM) who have had a response (complete response [CR], very good partial response [VGPR], or partial response [PR]) to induction therapy followed by high-dose therapy (HDT) and autologous stem cell transplant (ASCT).
The investigators goal is to improve the outcome of patients with acute stroke by inducing mild cerebral hypothermia through surface cooling at the cervical and shoulder regions using EMCOOLS Brain.Pads®. For this project, the investigators can build further on their research group's experience with hypothermia in animal models and invasive cooling in stroke patients. The COOL program will prospectively evaluate safety, feasibility, patient acceptance and efficacy of mild cerebral hypothermia using EMCOOLS Brain.Pads® in a large cohort of patients presenting with acute stroke at the Emergency Department of the Universitair Ziekenhuis Brussel. The application of EMCOOLS Brain.Pads® will be compared to routine clinical practice in a randomized controlled trial. If proven to be safe, feasible, well-tolerated and efficacious in the inhospital setting, future use in prehospital acute stroke care will be incorporated with telemedicine support, as part of the Prehospital Stroke Study at the Universitair ziekenhuis Brussel (PreSSUB).
Older patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) have a small (< 10%) chance of long-term survival. Despite the treatment of elderly AML patients with intensive chemotherapy, the survival has not been improved during the last decades. The purpose of this study is to determine whether frontline therapy with a 10-day decitabine schedule provides a better survival than standard intensive combination chemotherapy in elderly AML patients (>= 60 years).
This trial is comparing medical approaches for stroke prevention in people who have atrial fibrillation (AF) and have undergone a successful procedure called ablation to eliminate or substantially reduce the arrhythmia. AF is normally associated with an increased risk of stroke which in many patients can be prevented with appropriate blood thinner therapy. This trial will compare a strategy of oral anticoagulant therapy after successful ablation to therapy with an aspirin per day.
The study is a multicenter randomized (1:1) placebo-controlled, double-blinded phase II trial aiming to demonstrate an improvement of median PFS when treating locally advanced unresectable or metastatic patients suffering from an intra-hepatic or hilum (mass-forming) cholangiocarcinoma with Regorafenib as compared to placebo, and after progression after GEM-CDDP (or GEM-OX), or gemcitabine alone followed or preceded by platinum (CDDP or oxaliplatin)-based chemotherapy. The principal objective is to investigate Regorafenib efficacy by prospectively evaluating the PFS after the administration of Regorafenib combined with BSC as compared to placebo with BSC. Hypothesis is a 50% improvement in median PFS (from 6 weeks to 12 weeks in Regorafenib group).
Background : Brain vulnerability is particularly marked in preterm neonates and has long-term consequences. Unlike lesions affecting other organs, those that affect the brain can currently not 'be repaired' by producing new cells. However, exeprience-driven brain plasticity allows the brain to reorganise its connections to compensate (at least partially) the effects of an injury. Purpose : To evaluate the influence of Primebrain stimulation programme administred by parents until 6 months post-term on motor and neurophysiological development of infants born <32 weeks' gestation or with birth weight <1500 g.
Phase 1 Part (Complete): Open-label, sequential dose escalation study of pelabresib in patients with previously treated Acute Leukemia, Myelodysplastic Syndrome, Myelodysplastic/Myeloproliferative Neoplasms, and Myelofibrosis. Phase 2 Part: Open-label study of CPI-0610 with and without Ruxolitinib in patients with Myelofibrosis. CPI-0610 is a small molecule inhibitor of bromodomain and extra-terminal (BET) proteins.
The objective of this work is to study in-mouth aging and LTD of monolithic zirconia restorations. Microstructural changes characteristic of LTD processes, wear, and clinical behaviour following standard parameters will be evaluated. Notably Raman spectroscopy and 3D laser surface analysis will be used, directly on the restorations, which will be removed at regular intervals.The working hypothesis is that LTD process is very slow at the scale at the lifespan of dental prostheses.
