There are about 10460 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Australia. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of Brivaracetam to support the submission file in the indication of adjunctive treatment in adolescents and adults with partial onset seizures.
The purpose of this study is to assess efficacy and safety of volinanserin in the population of patients complaining of sleep maintenance insomnia. The patients suffering from that condition frequently wake up during the night, their sleep is non restorative and they suffer from a significant distress or impairment in their daily activities consecutive to insomnia.
The purpose of this study is to assess efficacy and safety of volinanserin in the population of patients complaining of sleep maintenance insomnia. The objective of the substudy is to assess glycemic control in the subgroup of patients with type II diabetes mellitus.

The primary objective of this study is to determine whether overall response to cetuximab combined with cisplatin is better than overall response to cisplatin alone together with showing that the overall response for cetuximab and cisplatin was above a pre-specified threshold of 0.2 in the treatment of "triple negative" metastatic breast cancer. The secondary objective of this study is to compare the differences between the two treatment groups using the following criteria : Progression-Free Survival (PFS) Time, Overall Survival (OS), Time to Response (TTR) and Safety.
The purpose of this study is to assess the tolerability and safety of KRX-101 in treating persistent microalbuminuria in type 2 diabetic patients who are also being treated with stable, maximum tolerated doses of either ACE inhibitors or A2 receptor blockers.
This study will be done in patients who require the implantation of a cardiac pacemaker (an electronic device that controls the heartbeat) for complete heart block (a heart rhythm abnormality resulting in a slow heart beat). Pacemakers regulate the heart beat by delivering pulses of electricity through special wires (pacing leads) which are placed inside the heart. This study will compare two groups of pacemaker patients. Each group will have their pacing leads placed in a particular location in the heart. The purpose of the study is to show whether the position used in one group is better for maintaining effective heart function compared to the position used in the other group. The leads in one group will be placed in a position called the Right Ventricular Apex. This is the traditional and most frequently used position for pacemaker leads. The leads in the other group will be placed in a position called the Right Ventricular High Septum. This is a less commonly used position, but may result in health benefits for the patients compared with the Right Ventricular Apex.
This 2 arm study will assess the immunological benefits of adding Fuzeon to an antiretroviral regimen in HIV-infected, Fuzeon-naive patients with a CD4 cell count <250 cells/mm3 and an HIV RNA viral load <400 copies/mL. Eligible patients will be randomized to receive Fuzeon 90mg bid sc in addition to their current antiretroviral therapy, or to continue their current antiretroviral therapy alone. The anticipated time on study treatment is 3-12 months, and the target sample size is <100 individuals.
This 4 arm study will evaluate the tolerability, efficacy and pharmacodynamics of different doses of a GLP-1 analogue in patients with type 2 diabetes who are treated with a stable dose of metformin. Patients will be randomized to receive either subcutaneous placebo, or subcutaneous GLP-1 analogue (at a dose of 20mg, or a starting dose of 20mg escalating to either 30mg or 40mg), weekly. All patients will continue on their existing metformin treatment regimen throughout the study. The anticipated time on study treatment is <3 months, and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.
The BEYOND Follow-Up study will give patients who participated in the preceding BEYOND study the opportunity to continue treatment with the 500µg dose of interferon beta (IFNB) 1b and will further investigate the safety and tolerability profile of interferon beta 1b 500µg during longer-term treatment.
