NCT ID: NCT00687882 Completed - Venous Thrombosis Clinical Trials

Evaluation of the Duration of Therapy for Thrombosis in Children

Kids-DOTT
Start date: March 2008
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The Kids-DOTT trial is a randomized controlled clinical trial whose primary objective is to evaluate non-inferiority of shortened-duration (6 weeks) versus conventional-duration (3 months) anticoagulation in children with first-episode acute venous thrombosis. The first stage of the trial has consisted of a pilot/feasibility component, which then continues as the definitively-powered trial.

NCT ID: NCT00684268 Completed - Hepatitis C Clinical Trials

Intravenous Silibinin in Combination With Peg-interferon and Ribavirin in Nonresponders

NRSily
Start date: October 2007
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

By chance the investigators found that iv. silibinin has a potent antiviral effect against the hepatitis C virus. Based on the results of the dose finding study (published) te optima dosing schedule is explored. This study will be evaluate whether the highest active dose given for the optimal time combined with standard of care will result in a sustained virologic response (=cure of hepatitis C).

NCT ID: NCT00682370 Completed - Healthy Subjects Clinical Trials

Effects of Heme Arginate in Healthy Male Subjects

HEMAHS
Start date: October 2007
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

Heme oxygenase 1 (HO-1) serves as a protective gene. It has been shown that one factor modulating HO-1 activity is a genetic variation in the HO-1 gene (functional GT length polymorphism in the promotor region). Heme arginate is a strong inducer of HO-1 as shown in several animal experimental studies. The aim of this clinical trial is to evaluate the HO-1 stimulation of heme arginate in healthy humans.

NCT ID: NCT00682240 Completed - Macular Edema Clinical Trials

Morphological and Functional Retinal Changes Following Retinal Photocoagulation

pascal
Start date: October 2007
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Imaging of retinal morphological changes with time secondary to laser treatment as assessed with high definition optical coherence tomography (OCT). Furthermore changes in retinal function as an effect of treatment will be documented by visual acuity testing using ETDRS charts and microperimetry. The change in vascular leakage will be assessed by performing fluorescein angiography, flare counts will be performed monthly.

NCT ID: NCT00681122 Completed - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

CARIATIDE (Compliance of ARomatase Inhibitors AssessmenT In Daily Practice Through Educational Approach)

CARIATIDE
Start date: May 2008
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

This observational study is restricted to postmenopausal women with hormone-sensitive early breast cancer, who have decided to take prescribed adjuvant use of AIs, anastrozole or letrozole, according to the current product SmPCs. There is no Investigational Medicinal Product (IMP) to be taken in this observational study. The adjuvant AI medication must not have exceeded thirteen weeks. In CARIATIDE (Compliance of ARomatase Inhibitors AssessmenT In Daily practicE through Educational approach), impact of educational material on women's compliance and persistence rates will be evaluated.

NCT ID: NCT00680992 Completed - Cancer Clinical Trials

Study of Denosumab in Subjects With Giant Cell Tumor of Bone

Start date: September 9, 2008
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

To determine how safe denosumab is in treating subjects with giant cell tumor of bone (GCTB)

NCT ID: NCT00680927 Completed - Atrial Fibrillation Clinical Trials

Reveal® XT Performance Trial (XPECT)

Start date: September 2007
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to quantify the accuracy of the atrial fibrillation diagnostics of the Reveal® XT in a clinical setting and to verify overall system performance, R-wave sensing performance, to obtain user feedback, from both patient and physician, and collect data on device safety.

NCT ID: NCT00680550 Completed - Atrial Fibrillation Clinical Trials

INSIGHT (R)XT. Indications for Diagnosis, Arrhythmia and Monitoring of Reveal XT

Start date: April 2008
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

To describe the clinical indications for Reveal XT in diagnosis and continuous monitoring of arrhythmia and to explore the clinical applications and outcome of arrhythmia monitoring on patient care.

NCT ID: NCT00679731 Completed - Psoriasis Clinical Trials

A Study of Safety and Efficacy Comparing ABT-874 Versus Methotrexate in Subjects With Moderate to Severe Plaque Psoriasis

Start date: April 2008
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study is being conducted to compare the efficacy of ABT-874 versus Methotrexate in subjects with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis.

NCT ID: NCT00679588 Completed - Clinical trials for Venous Thromboembolism

Evaluation of AVE5026 as Compared to Enoxaparin for the Prevention of Venous Thromboembolism in Patients Undergoing Major Abdominal Surgery

SAVE-ABDO
Start date: April 2008
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective is to compare the efficacy and safety of once daily (q.d.) subcutaneous (s.c.) injections of Semuloparin sodium (AVE5026) with q.d. s.c. injections of Enoxaparin for the prevention of Venous Thromboembolic Events (VTE) in patients undergoing major abdominal surgery. The secondary objectives are to evaluate the safety of Semuloparin sodium (AVE5026) and to document Semuloparin sodium (AVE5026) exposure in this population.
