NCT ID: NCT02931500 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Cardiovascular Disease

Machine Learning for Identification of Future Disease Development: A Nationwide Cohort Study (MILESTONE)

Start date: July 1, 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

To develop machine learning algorithms for the identification of future development of cardiovascular and metabolic disease

NCT ID: NCT02931305 Recruiting - Osteoporosis Clinical Trials

Epimedium Prenylflavonoid (EP) Extract for Osteoporosis and Cardiovascular Disease

Start date: October 2016
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective of the trial is to develop Epimedium Prenylflavonoid (EP) extract as a pharmaceutical-quality intervention for post-menopausal osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease. There will be 3 cohorts of 10 healthy men each for the Phase 1 study. In each cohort, 8 men will receive the Epimedium capsules and 2 men will received the matched controls.

NCT ID: NCT02931188 Completed - Vascular Disease Clinical Trials

The Effect of Anacetrapib on Vascular Function and Arterial Stiffness

REVEAL-Vasc
Start date: January 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

There are currently no studies evaluating the effect of anacetrapib on blood vessel function and stiffness of the arteries. The REVEAL-Vasc trial will assess whether anacetrapib, in addition to atorvastatin (LDL-C lowering drug) treatment, results in greater endothelial-dependent vascular function and aortic stiffness in patients with established cardiovascular disease, compared to adding placebo. Participants will be asked to provide a blood sample and pulse Wave Velocity/Pulse Wave Analysis and Flow Mediated Dilation will be carried out to assess blood vessel function and stiffness of the arteries. REVEAL-Vasc is an investigator led sub-study of HPS3/TIMI 55: REVEAL (Randomized Evaluation of the Effects of Anacetrapib through Lipid modification): A large-scale, randomized placebo-controlled trial of the clinical effects of anacetrapib among people with established vascular disease (NCT01252953) which is coordinated by OXFORD CTSU. No treatment will be received on this sub-study, therefore only participants who have been enrolled in HPS3/TIMI55 REVEAL in which participants received anacetrapib with atorvastatin or placebo will be considered for this trial.

NCT ID: NCT02928198 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Cardiovascular Diseases

Bifurcation ABSORB OCT Trial

BISORB OCT
Start date: June 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The Bifurcation ABSORB OCT Trial is a prospective, randomized (1:1) evaluation of the efficacy and performance of single ABSORB everolimus eluting bioresorbable vascular scaffold provisional strategy in the treatment of (a) coronary bifurcation lesion(s) in consecutive subjects with and without fenestration towards the side branch. Patients included in this study will be divided into three different cohorts: - Cohort A (patient 1-20): Angiographic FU with OCT at 12 months. - Cohort B (patient 21-40): Angiographic FU with OCT at 24 months. - Cohort C (patient 41-60): Angiographic FU with OCT at 36 months. All patients will also have telephone FU at 30 days, 12, 24 and 36 months. Inclusion of patients in the BISORB OCT trial stopped in November 2016 after safety concerns of the ABSORB BVS were reported. BISORB OCT included 3 patients, which were all included in the Academic Medical Center

NCT ID: NCT02922088 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Coronary Artery Disease

EU Multicenter Registry to Assess Outcomes in CABG Patients: Treatment of Vascular Conduits With DuraGraft [VASC]

VASC
Start date: December 9, 2016
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

The DuraGraft® Registry is a European registry of patients who have undergone CABG and whose vascular grafts have been treated with DuraGraft. All participating sites will be from countries in Europe. The DuraGraft Registry will collect pre-CABG, intraoperative and post-operative data, major post-CABG cardiovascular adverse events, health economic outcomes and patient reported quality of life over a period of 5 years.

NCT ID: NCT02922062 Completed - Clinical trials for Cardiovascular Diseases

The Effects of Consuming Palm Oil With Different Macronutrient Intakes on Blood Lipids

Start date: November 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine the effects of palm oil when consumed as either part of a low carbohydrate diet or a high carbohydrate diet on blood lipids, cardiovascular health and inflammation. The study will help us better understand how the quality of saturated fat and the quantity of carbohydrate interact to impact blood lipids and cardiovascular health.

NCT ID: NCT02917434 Completed - Obesity Clinical Trials

Effects of Weight-loss Treatment in Obese Patients With Psoriatic Arthritis

VIPsA
Start date: April 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The study is an open intervention study with the aim to determine the effects of weight-loss treatment with Low-Energy liquid Diet (LED) on disease activity, quality of life and markers of the metabolic syndrome in patients with psoriatic arthritis and obesity.

NCT ID: NCT02916615 Completed - Hypertension Clinical Trials

Effects of Nitrate in Vegetables on Blood Pressure in Subjects With Prehypertension

DINO
Start date: January 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of different vegetables on cardiovascular function in subjects with moderately increased blood pressure. Specifically we are comparing the effects of vegetables with a high natural content of inorganic nitrate with those of vegetables with a low nitrate content.

mHealth Interventions to Improve Access and Coverage of Uninsured People With High Cardiovascular Risk in Argentina.

mHealth
Start date: August 24, 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) accounts for approximately one-third of Argentina's deaths. Despite the availability of management and treatment for CVD which is offered to the uninsured population at government primary care clinics (PCCs), the rates at which those at risk are screened, identified and referred to the clinics are very low. This study will determine if providing CHWs with an mHealth application using an integrated, inexpensive and validated screening tool on cell phones for screening in the community which is linked with the PCC scheduling system wirelessly allowing the CHWs to make appointments at the time they identify high-risk individuals, will increase the number of referral and follow-up visits that patients attend at the PCCs.
