Evaluating Treatment of Anemia in Subjects With Non-Myeloid MalignanciesReceiving Multicycle Chemotherapy

Start date: n/a
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to compare the effect of darbepoetin alfa administered in a weight based versus fixed dosing for the treatment of anemia in subjects with non-myeloid malignancies receiving multicycle chemotherapy.

Treatment for Patients With Non-Myeloid Malignancies Receiving Chemotherapy

Start date: February 2003
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to compare the time to hematopoietic response (hemoglobin correction to 12 g/dL or a greater than or equal to 2 g/dL increase from baseline) for subjects randomized to receive darbepoetin alfa with a front load dosing regimen to those receiving recombinant human erythropoietin (rHuEPO) with a weekly dose regimen during the 12-week comparative treatment period.

NCT ID: NCT00110994 Completed - Cancer Clinical Trials

Treatment for Subjects With Unresectable Stage III or Stage IV Melanoma

Start date: April 2005
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a randomized, double blind, placebo controlled, multicenter, phase II study to compare the anti-tumor activity as measured by progression-free survival (PFS) and the tolerability of Sorafenib in combination with Dacarbazine (DTIC) versus DTIC in combination with placebo in subjects with unresectable Stage III or Stage IV melanoma who have not received prior cytotoxic chemotherapy. A total of approximately 98 subjects will be randomized to receive DTIC + Sorafenib or DTIC + Placebo.

NCT ID: NCT00110357 Completed - Cancer Clinical Trials

Study of Erbitux™ (Cetuximab) in Pediatric Patients With Refractory Solid Tumors

Start date: August 2005
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this clinical research study is to establish the maximum tolerated dose and recommended Phase II dose of Erbitux™ in combination with Irinotecan in pediatric and adolescent patients with refractory solid tumors.

NCT ID: NCT00110045 Completed - Cancer Clinical Trials

Caspofungin Acetate in Treating Aspergillosis in Patients With Hematologic Cancer or in Patients Who Have Undergone a Stem Cell Transplant

Start date: February 2005
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Antifungals, such as caspofungin acetate, may be effective in treating fungal infections caused by chemotherapy or stem cell transplant. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well caspofungin acetate works as first-line treatment for aspergillosis in patients with hematologic cancer or in patients who have undergone a stem cell transplant.

NCT ID: NCT00109057 Completed - Cancer Clinical Trials

An Extension Study to Evaluate Avastin in Patients Treated in a Previous Genentech-Sponsored Cancer Study

Start date: February 1998
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a multicenter, open-label extension study. Subjects who have received rhuMAb VEGF (Avastin) therapy in any Genentech-sponsored Phase I or Phase II cancer study and who did not show evidence of disease progression at completion of the parent study will be eligible for inclusion in this trial.

NCT ID: NCT00109031 Completed - Cancer Clinical Trials

Palifermin for the Reduction of Oral Mucositis in Single-dose Evaluation (PROMISE)

Start date: January 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

To evaluate whether palifermin (rHuKGF) administered as a single dose is non-inferior to 3 consecutive doses of palifermin in reducing the incidence of severe oral mucositis (World Health Organization [WHO] grade 3 and 4).

NCT ID: NCT00107627 Completed - Cancer Clinical Trials

Skin Incision Study - Closure of Skin Incisions in Gynecological Cancer Surgery

Start date: March 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The Skin Incision Study evaluates the efficacy of skin closure methods: skin staples and subcuticular sutures at 6 weeks and at 3 months following the operation by measuring cosmesis and pain.

Low-risk Fever and Neutropenia in Children With Cancer: Safety and Efficacy of Oral Antibiotics in an Outpatient Setting

Start date: January 2004
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine whether, in children with cancer presenting with fever in severe chemotherapy-induced neutropenia at low risk for medical complications, oral antibiotics in an outpatient setting after an initial phase of intravenous antibiotics and in-hospital observation for 8 to 22 hours, is not inferior as to safety and efficacy compared to continued intravenous antibiotics given in-hospital.

NCT ID: NCT00106886 Active, not recruiting - Stroke Clinical Trials
