Start date: n/a
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

To investigate the safety and tolerability of AZD8055 intermittent dosing schedules when given orally to patients with advanced solid malignancies and lymphomas. Two intermittent dosing schedules will be explored with increasing doses until a maximum tolerated dose is determined for each schedule.

NCT ID: NCT01192165 Completed - Cancer Clinical Trials

Safety and Tolerability Study of GSK1120212, a MEK Inhibitor, in Combination With Docetaxel, Erlotinib, Pemetrexed, Pemetrexed + Carboplatin, Pemetrexed + Cisplatin, or Nab-Paclitaxel

Start date: September 14, 2010
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine what dose of GSK1120212 can be given safely in combination with at least one other drug that is already approved to treat cancer. This study will test the safety of up to 6 different GSK1120212 study treatment combinations (GSK1120212 plus either docetaxel, erlotinib, pemetrexed, pemetrexed + carboplatin, pemetrexed + cisplatin, or nab-paclitaxel). The doses identified in this study may be used in future trials to test whether the combination treatment is a safe and effective therapy for subjects with metastatic lung and/or pancreatic cancers.

Project PREVAM : Prospective Comparison of Capsule Endoscopy Pillcam II™ Versus Colonoscopy

Start date: August 2010
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of the study is to perform a prospective, multicenter research comparing capsule endoscopy with the video colonoscopy in the detection of the adenomatous polyps and cancer specifically in a high risk population (sensibility, specificity, NPV, PPV and diagnostic accuracy). The investigators will used the Pillcam II™ colon capsule (second generation) and a high resolution colonoscope (with high definition). Both procedures will be perform in the same day with an adapted bowel preparation.

NCT ID: NCT01173913 Completed - Cancer Clinical Trials

Weekly Administration of (bi-)Daily Oral Docetaxel in Combination With Ritonavir

Start date: September 2010
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

Oral administration has many advantages above intravenously administrated drugs for patients. Up to now, oral administration of docetaxel as single agent has not been feasible due to low and variable bioavailability. This low systematic exposure to docetaxel can effectively be increased after co-administration of ritonavir. The department of pharmacy of the Slotervaart Hospital and Netherlands Cancer Institute developed a solid oral dosage form for docetaxel, ModraDoc001 10 mg capsules. Two other novel dosage forms of docetaxel with improved pharmaceutical characteristics, have been developed: ModraDoc003 10 mg tablets and ModraDoc004 10/50 mg tablets. The systemic exposure after administration of those forms is now being investigated.
