Filter by:The purpose of this study is to determine what effects Esomeprazole (Nexium) has on increasing or decreasing the amount of oral taxane in the blood, and to determine the safety of oral taxane and effect of oral taxane on the cancer.
This study is intended to investigate the recommended dose of alvimopan in doses 0.25mg/day (0.25mg, OD), 0.5mg/day (0.25mg, BID) or 1mg/day (0.5mg, BID) or placebo for 3 weeks in patients who receive opioids for the management of cancer pain and develop constipation, by giving overall consideration to the efficacy and safety data in each treatment group. Also, efficacy and safety data of alvimopan in the recommended dose group will be compared with those of placebo and to confirm alvimopan's safety and efficacy.
The first purpose of this study is to determine how the body absorbs, metabolizes, and eliminates a single dose of BMS-275183 (labeled with radioactive carbon). Secondly, to measure the levels of BMS-275183 in your blood, study the safety of the drug, and to see what effects it has on your cancer.
1.11 Retrospectively evaluate for a correlation between tumor response and changes in systolic/diastolic/mean arterial blood pressures in patients treated with bevacizumab, with or without chemotherapy, with a wide variety of metastatic malignancies. 1.12 Retrospectively evaluate for differences in tumor response between patients with and without pre-existing hypertension treated with bevacizumab plus or minus chemotherapy with a wide variety of metastatic malignancies. 1.21 Determine if there were differences in bevacizumab induced hypertension rates between different tumor types. 1.22 Evaluate for differences in bevacizumab induced hypertension rates between males and females. 1.23 Examine if there were associations between a particular chemotherapeutic agent(s), that may have had an increased propensity of inducing hypertension when combined with bevacizumab.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the subcutaneous administration for 45 days of Bemiparin (3,500 UI/day) in cancer patients with a CVC, to prevent CVC-related deep venous thrombosis (CVC-DVT)
RATIONALE: Sodium stibogluconate may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Interferon may interfere with the growth of cancer cells. Giving sodium stibogluconate together with interferon may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of sodium stibogluconate when given together with interferon in treating patients with advanced solid tumors, lymphoma, or myeloma.
The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and effectiveness of PROCRIT (Epoetin alfa) administered by injection subcutaneously (SC, under the skin), at a dose of 80,000 U once every four weeks or 40,000 U once every two in anemic patients with cancer not receiving chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
To determine the efficacy and to measure the complications of prophylactic anticoagulation using low-molecular weight heparin in adult cancer patients under palliative care
Patients will be treated for 2 consecutive chemo cycles with the study drug for one and placebo for the other. In addition, patients will receive an injection before the chemo, either ondansetron (if receiving placebo inhalation) or normal saline) if receiving active study drug. They will take study medication for 3 days, 4 times daily and fill out VAS scores before and after doses. Patients will be given rescue medication with each dose.
The purpose of this study is to identify the genetic makeup of cancers, the cancer response, and the correlation of the cancer response to standardized regimens of cancer treatment.
