Filter by:A two-arm randomised controlled trial in patients receiving post-prostatectomy radiotherapy in the adjuvant or salvage setting, with patients randomised to receive daily ProSpare (obturator) guided IMRT or Centre standard (non-obturator) guided IMRT.
This study will determine the short-term effects of chemotherapy on sperm DNA.The study involves the collection of semen sample through ejaculation prior to initiation of chemotherapy and up to three time points after initiation of chemotherapy.
This study evaluates the use of the Computerized Symptom Capture Tool (C-SCAT), which creates an image of the symptoms the participant is experiencing, for improving symptom self-management in adolescents and young adults with cancer. In this one-group trial, participants will complete the C-SCAT and use it during two clinic visits with their oncology providers.
SNX-5422 is a prodrug of SNX-2112, a potent, highly selective, small molecule inhibitor of the molecular chaperone heat shock protein 90 (HSP90). Hsp90 inhibitors may overcome ibrutinib resistance in Mantle cell lymphomas and this study will investigate whether the addition of SNX-5422 to an established dose of ibrutinib will provide clinical response in subjects who have residual disease, but have not progressed on ibrutinib after 18 months of monotherapy, and/or prevents or delays disease progression of subjects with CLL.
The aim of this study is to evaluate the impact of participation in Cancer Clear and Simple (CC&S) educational sessions on cancer prevention and screening. The researchers will recruit 60 community members: 30 will receive CC&S training (intervention group) and 30 will not (control group). All 60 will be surveyed about their intent to change their behavior at the beginning of the study and their actual behavior changes and their screening behavior 6 months after enrollment in the study.
Testicular tissue cryopreservation is an experimental procedure where a young boy's testicular tissue is retrieved and frozen. This technique is reserved for young male patients who are not yet producing mature sperm, with the ultimate goal that their tissue may be used in the future to restore fertility when experimental techniques emerge from the research pipeline.
The overarching goal of this project is to improve communication between oncologists and their patients by ensuring that the patient's voice is heard in the medical encounter. Thus, the hope is to improve the experience for patients living with cancer. The investigators seek to accomplish this goal by providing oncologists communication skills training that includes feedback on their own audio-recorded conversations. The feedback will come from two sources: 1) Professional research assistant coders who will identify objective learning opportunities based on specific coding criteria and 2) Trained patient reviewers who will listen to the recordings and offer their own, subjective feedback at key moments in the encounters.
This study will be used to determine the safety and tolerability of BMS-986016 administered alone and in combination with Nivolumab in subjects with advanced solid tumors.
EVALUATE THE CARE PROCESS AND THE QUALITY OF CARE FOR ADULT CANCER PATIENTS WHO ARE ADMITTED FOR COLORECTAL SURGERY
This pilot study is designed to adapt a community-based diabetes prevention program to reach adults at risk for cancer.
