Medical thoracoscopy is the preferred procedure for performing pleural biopsy in patients with pleural effusions that remain undiagnosed after pleural fluid analysis. Surgical site infections (SSI) and empyema are among the important complications of the procedure. At author's center, povidone-iodine is used for surgical site preparation during MT. The investigators hypothesized that chlorhexidine-alcohol would be superior to povidone-iodine in reducing the rate of infectious complications following thoracoscopy. In this study, the authors propose to investigate the efficacy of chlorhexidine-alcohol scrub in preventing post procedural infectious complications in subjects undergoing medical thoracoscopy
This is a multi-central, double-blind, randomized, parallel, placebo-controlled phase 3 study in adult subjects with severe alopecia areata (SALT≥50%). Approximately 330 adult patients will be enrolled into the study. Efficacy and safety of two doses of SHR0302 will be compared to placebo.

This is a phase II study using the Bayesian platform design. There are three clinical stage groups of localized pancreatic cancer: resectable, borderline resectable, and locally advanced disease. Each stage group will have a defined standard of care chemotherapy regimen for a control arm, serving as a basis of comparison. Each group may have one or more experimental arms. Experimental arms may be added to the platform over time, and the effects of the experimental treatments will be tested against the controls for each group.
This is a randomized, open-label, dose/schedule optimization study comparing NUC-3373/leucovorin (LV)/irinotecan plus bevacizumab (NUFIRI-bev) to 5-FU/LV/irinotecan plus bevacizumab (FOLFIRI-bev) for the treatment of patients with unresectable metastatic colorectal cancer. A total of 171 patients will be randomized 1:1:1 to either NUFIRI-bev on a weekly NUC-3373 schedule, NUFIRI-bev based on an alternate weekly NUC-3373 schedule, or FOLFIRI bev on an alternate weekly schedule. The main objectives are to assess and compare the efficacy and safety of the 3 regimens. Pharmacokinetics will be assessed on the 2 NUFIRI arms.
The goal of this project is to conduct an open-pilot (N=30) to evaluate the feasibility, acceptability, and fidelity of a mind-body and activity program (GetActive+) with older adults with chronic pain. The investigators will test for improvements in self-reported, performance-based (i.e., six-minute walk test), and objective (i.e., step-count) physical function, emotional function, as well as feasibility, acceptability and implementation markers. Participants will complete measures at baseline and post-intervention.

This phase I/II trial studies the side effects and the best dose of selumetinib and how well it works in treating or re-treating young patients with low grade glioma that has come back (recurrent) or does not respond to treatment (refractory). Selumetinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.
