Balloon Assisted Maceration Versus Rotational Thrombectomy in Dialysis Access Salvage

The purpose of this research study is to compare how well a wire like device disrupts and removes blood clot in your blocked dialysis graft/fistula in comparison to inflating a balloon in your access for the same purpose. The wire like device is called the Cleaner XT and has already been approved by the government/Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for this purpose. Blood clots in your dialysis access can be fairly common and prevent you from being able to get dialysis. Procedures for opening this blockage must then be performed which is why you have been sent to the hospital today. There are different ways of opening up this blockage which can including blowing up a balloon in multiple areas of the graft/fistula to squeeze the blood clot to break up the blockage or using a wire like device to break up the clot in small pieces and try to remove all of the clot from the wall of the graft/fistula.

The goal of this phase II clinical trial is to evaluate the intracranial efficacy of JDQ443, a KRAS G12C inhibitor in patients with KRAS G12C+ NSCLC and brain metastases (cohort A: asymptomatic, untreated brain metastases, cohort B: asymptomatic, treated brain metastases). The main question it aims to answer is to evaluate the intracranial efficacy, according to RANO-BM criteria, in patients with asymptomatic and untreated brain metastases. Participants will receive JDQ443 200 mg BID until unacceptable toxicity or disease progression.

Role of Acetylcholine in Blood Flow Regulation in Healthy Adults: Effects of Age and Exercise Training

The overall goal of this study is to address fundamental questions regarding how the molecule acetylcholine interacts with the sympathetic nervous system to regulate blood flow and oxygen delivery to working skeletal muscle in young and older adults. With advancing age, blood vessels supplying active muscle lose their ability to override sympathetic constriction, which limits delivery of oxygen and results in fatigue. Findings from these studies will serve as the foundation for new strategies to improve regional blood flow regulation in older adults and clinical populations, which will increase quality of life and help to preserve functional independence.

Simultaneous Integrated Boost Technique in Breast Cancer Radiotherapy

Adjuvant radiotherapy after breast conserving surgery has been shown to improve both local control and overall survival. Dose escalation of the tumor bed by addition of a boost after whole breast radiotherapy reduces the risk of local recurrence in invasive breast cancer. Simultaneous integrated boost (SIB) techniques have been shown to provide more conformal treatment plans than conventional sequential boost, in addition, SIB enables a reduction in the overall treatment time by 1 week compared to conventional boost techniques. The proposed study is aimed at evaluating radiation-induced toxicity in patients treated with breast-conserving surgery in combination with radiotherapy using SIB technique.

Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy is a diffuse multifocal autoimmune disorder of the peripheral neuron, affecting 1 to 9 in 100,000 people. Its course is difficult to predict, and may be characterized by continuous progression, multiple relapses, or recovery after a few months. treatment. The predominantly motor form with 4 limbs represents the typical form, but the disease can take on other clinical forms (pure sensory impairment, ataxia, etc.). In addition to induction therapy, patients most often require long-term maintenance therapy. First-line therapies, with the same efficacy according to a 2013 Cochrane study, are glucocorticoid therapy, plasma exchanges and intravenous immunoglobulin injections. Glucocorticoids have a grade C recommendation level while a grade A has been assigned to intravenous immunoglobulins and plasma exchange. However, the latter have less tolerance and have a rebound effect which limits their long-term interest. Intravenous immunoglobulins are therefore the preferred treatment today. The effect of intravenous immunoglobulins, delivered as a bolus over a few days, lasts two to six weeks, with the number of people being cured of three to improve a person. A more recent study has also shown their advantage in reducing the relapse rate at 6 months. However, the response to intravenous immunoglobulins fluctuates in different patients and, for any given patient, changes over the course of the disease. The 2010 recommendations therefore recommend an adaptation of the doses and duration of intercourse (0.4 to 1.2 g / kg every 2 to 6 weeks) according to individual monitoring of the response to treatment. In order to embrace the diversity of symptoms of chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy, several scores and scales are usually combined to ensure this follow-up in a cohort. Three clinical data are currently favored: the Inflammatory Rasch-built Overall Disability Scale (I-RODS), the INCAT Overall Neuropathy Limitations Scale (ONLS), the score of the Medical Research Council (MRC). InertiaLocoGraphie, non-invasive, easy and quick to set up, reflecting the patient's function, therefore potentially provides biomarkers of choice for monitoring the response to intravenous immunoglobulin cures in patients with chronic inflammatory polyradiculoneuropathy demyelinating. Its association with the traditional monitoring tools such as the ONLS score, the I-ROS, and the CRM therefore appears to be of key interest for this monitoring.
