The first objective of this study is to demonstrate the efficacy and safety of pitolisant given at 10, 20, or 40 mg per day versus placebo during 12 weeks of the Double Blind period, to treat the Excessive Daytime Sleepiness (EDS) in patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) refusing the nasal Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (nCPAP) therapy or treated by nCPAP but still complaining of EDS. The secondary objectives of the study include assessing the long-term tolerance as well as the maintenance of efficacy of pitolisant given at 10, 20 or 40 mg per day during 39 weeks of Open Label Extension period.

A Study of Vapendavir Treatment of Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Subjects With Symptomatic Rhinovirus Infection

This is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study of vapendavir treatment of laboratory-confirmed and symptomatic HRV infection of the upper respiratory tract in allogeneic and autologous stem cell transplant subjects. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of vapendavir on laboratory-confirmed HRV upper-respiratory tract infection in HSCT patients, as measured by viral load changes, worsening of upper respiratory tract infection (URTI) to lower respiratory tract infection (LRTI), duration of clinical symptoms, the occurrence of supplemental oxygen use, duration of viral shedding, hospital admission and duration of hospitalization, incidence of secondary bacterial infection, and mortality rates. Additionally, the safety and tolerability of vapendavir, and the vapendavir plasma levels achieved in the HSCT population, and the profile of viral resistance development will also be assessed.

The primary purpose of the study is to compare the safety and effectiveness of standard treatment for chronic hepatitis C using peginterferon alpha-2a (Pegasys) and ribavirin (Copegus) to those same medications plus a dietary supplement called betaine when added for the first 12 weeks of treatment. Peginterferon alpha-2a (Pegasys) and ribavirin (Copegus) are approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C. Betaine is a dietary supplement and occurs naturally in the body. It is not a medication regulated by the FDA or an approved drug for chronic hepatitis C.
