This study seeks to examine the effectiveness of NRX-1074 in the treatment of negative symptoms and cognition in schizophrenia compared to other agents at the glycine site which have demonstrated inconsistent results for negative symptoms. In addition to testing efficacy, we will examine the time course of response of symptoms as well as any effects on memory consolidation.

Developing and Evaluating User-Designed Data Displays

Hospitalized children with respiratory disease are commonly monitored with continuous pulse oximetry and heart rate-respiratory rate monitors. These data streams generate >4,000 unique data points each patient-day, yet only a tiny fraction are used to inform care decisions. Failure to adequately summarize this large amount of data for clinicians may result in suboptimal care because clinicians may miss important data signals and may under- or over-react to individual data points. In children hospitalized with respiratory disease and in need of supplemental oxygen, there are a number of care decisions, currently made without adequate data, which could be informed by intelligent data visualization tools. This study has employed user-centered design to develop data displays that inform nurses' and respiratory therapists' decision-making in supplemental oxygen delivery. The investigators are now evaluating the effectiveness of these displays in the clinical care of patients with two common respiratory conditions—infants with bronchiolitis admitted to the general pediatrics ward and preterm infants requiring supplemental oxygen who are cared for in the neonatal intensive care unit. By reducing patient's time on supplemental oxygen and improving time with optimal oxygen saturations, this work has the potential to lead to a breakthrough innovation that improves both outcomes and value.

A Phase II Trial Evaluating WNT974 in Patients With Metastatic Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Given that up-regulation of the Wnt pathway has been identified as having a significant role in carcinogenesis in advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, the investigator believes that inhibition of Porcupine via WNT974 will result in tumor control hence improvement in disease free and overall survival in these patients with a tolerable toxicity profile. As suggested by pre-clinical models, patients with a tumor harboring a Notch receptor (any of the four) loss of function mutation may have a greater response rate to treatment with WNT974. The investigator aims to address this question by administration of single agent WNT974 and following response radiologically along with close clinical follow up to monitor toxicities.

Long-Term Follow-up of the Safety and Efficacy of RCT-01 in Men and Women With Unilateral, Chronic Achilles Tendinosis

The primary purpose of this study is to assess the long-term safety profile of RCT-01 injections as compared to placebo injections. This study will also measure the long-term impact these injections will have on tendon structure and function and the symptoms of Achilles tendinosis. This is study is designed to follow participants who have completed participation in a clinical trial where they received injections of either RCT-01 or placebo in the Achilles tendon. No clinical interventions will be performed as part of study procedures. The day of study entry (Visit 1) will be coordinated with the participant's final visit in the earlier clinical trial. All participants will return to the clinic for repeat assessments of their Achilles tendinosis and overall health 6, 12 and 18 months after study entry. Furthermore, they will complete 'telephone visits'; during which they will report information on their overall health; 3, 9, and 15 months after study entry. Total duration of patient participation is approximately 18 months.

Comparison of AmnioFix Laser and Standard of Care Treatment

This is a comparison trial with novel application of AmnioFix and a control arm. Patients electively being treated with facial lasers will be assigned to receive AmnioFix in addition to the normal standard of care placed on half of their face after laser procedure, and normal post laser standard of care alone on the other half of their face. The investigators will investigate the end points of healing, recovery time, re-epitheliaziation, and other cosmetic factors. The study is designed to compare AmnioFix to the current standard of laser care.

Investigation of Cannabis for Pain and Inflammation in Lung Cancer

Radiation therapy to the chest is used in late stage lung cancer, and it often leads to inflammation of the esophagus. The inflammation is expected to occur in about 75% of patient, and usually begin within a week of starting radiation therapy. The esophagitis causes pain and difficulty eating. The inflammation is expected to occur in about 75% of patient, and usually begin within a week of starting radiation therapy. The esophagitis causes pain and difficulty eating. The endocannabinoid system is prominent in the gastrointestinal system, and cannabis has been shown to greatly inhibit inflammation. The compound (-)-trans-Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ-9-THC) has effects that reduce inflammation and pain. Cannabidiol is a component of cannabis that does not produce subjective or intoxicating effects, but also has prominent anti-inflammatory properties. The goal of this study is to perform a double-blind, placebo-controlled study to investigate the efficacy of cannabis, compared to placebo, in participants undergoing RT (Radiation Therapy) for lung cancer. Cannabis that has a high concentration of cannabidiol will be used , which is a cannabinoid that does not change perception or produce intoxication, and low in Δ-9-THC. In this way, the hope is to maximize the benefit of cannabis, while lowering the possible side effects of cannabis in medically ill participants.
