The objective of this PMS study is the evaluation of depressive symptoms measured with Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS) Part I (mentation, behavior and mood) and with Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale Depression Subscore (HADS-D) under pramipexole treatment in early and advanced PD patients. In addition it will be investigated whether improvement of depressive symptoms is linked to improvement in motor function (UPDRS Part III). 250 patients diagnosed with Parkinson's disease (PD) will be investigated by 80 specialists (neurologists or neurologists/psychiatrists) across Austria. Pramipexole will be taken orally at an initial dosage of 0.375 mg/day (using a three times daily schedule independently of food intake) and can be titrated upwards, as required, at weekly intervals to a maximum total daily dose of 4,5 mg (TID) as per Summary of Product Characteristics (SPC).
The purpose of this study is to review cause of death in patients undergoing prostate brachytherapy at a single institution. Furthermore, we are analyzing patients undergoing androgen deprivation therapy and whether or not this contributed to cardiovascular deaths, specifically myocardial infarction.

A randomized controlled trial comparing the ongoing pregnancy rate (primary end-point) in 280 patients undergoing IVF/ICSI after stimulation with hp-hMG or rFSH controlled with a GnRH antagonist. Non significant differences were observed between hp-hMG and rFSH in terms of the ongoing pregnancy rate per started cycle (35.0% vs. 32.1%; p=0.61); R.R: 1.09 (95% CI: 0.78-1.51; Risk Difference: 2.9%). No differences were observed for implantation, clinical pregnancy and pregnancy loss rates. Patients receiving rFSH obtained more oocytes (14.4 ± 8.1 vs. 11.3 ± 6.0; p=0.001). Estradiol was higher at the end of stimulation in the hp-hMG group, while Progesterone was higher in patients stimulated with rFSH.

Purpose: L-[3-18F]-α-methyltyrosine (18F-FMT) is an amino-acid tracer for PET. We have conducted a clinicopathologic study to elucidate the correlation of angiogenesis with 18F-FMT and 18F-FDG uptake in the patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Method: Thirty-seven NSCLC patients were enrolled in this study, and a pair of PET study with 18F-FMT and 18F-FDG was performed. Uptake of PET tracers was evaluated with standardized uptake value. VEGF, CD31, CD34, LAT1 and Ki-67 labeling index of the resected tumors were analyzed by immunohistochemical staining, and correlated with the clinicopathologic variables and the uptake of PET tracers.
Objective: To compare the effects of the EPAP and the incentive spirometry flow-oriented in the pulmonary function after bariatric surgery. Method: Twenty-eight women, non-smokers, with no lung disease and BMI of 35-49,99 kg/m2, undergoing bariatric surgery by laparoscopy, were studied. Before surgery the patients were divided in two groups: Spirometer Group (SG) (n=13) and EPAP Group (EG) (n=15). Pulmonary function was evaluated by spirometry, thoracoabdominal (cirtometry) and diaphragmatic motion, on the preoperative and on the second postoperative day. Physiotherapy started on the day of surgery, each modality (incentive spirometry or EPAP) performed lasting 15 minutes. The deambulation and active exercises of upper and lower limbs were standardized for groups.
