Lung cancer remains one of the most commonly diagnosed oncological diseases worldwide and the first in terms of mortality. Although immune checkpoint inhibitors form the backbone of current metastatic non-small cell lung cancer treatments, there is still no ideal predictive marker for its efficacy and patients still achieve suboptimal results in overall response and survival. While immune checkpoint inhibitors are known to shift systemic anti-tumor immune response from suppression to stimulation in some patients, the investigators hypothesize that this effect can be further enhanced by cryotherapy, especially in "cold" tumors. If proven successful, cryotherapy in combination with immunotherapy, could potentiate a more powerful immune response compared to systemic therapy alone, improve overall response rate, patients' survival without disease progression, and overall survival. The investigators, therefore, aim to use combined local tumor cryotherapy, combined with immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy to induce and evaluate systemic anti-tumor T lymphocyte response and achieve improved non-small cell lung cancer patient outcomes than with immunotherapy alone.
The aim of the study was to examine the effect of counselling and follow-up after education on the risks and prevention methods of breast cancer on early diagnosis behaviours and healthy lifestyle behaviours. The population of the study will consist of female administrative staff working at Mersin University. The sample of the study will consist of 160 people. A total of 160 personnel determined by randomisation will be divided into group A (study) and group B (control) formed by the independent researcher in the computer environment. All participants will be given a one-hour training on breast cancer and will be practised with a model as well as a presentation. Group A will be counselled for 6 months after the training and a reminder message will be sent via SMS on Monday every week as "Check your modifiable risk factors for breast cancer" and their feedback will be received. In group B, no additional application will be made except for the training. The data of the study will be collected before and 6 months after the training by using the Descriptive Characteristics Form, Breast Cancer Early Diagnosis Behaviours Form, Counselling Form and Healthy Lifestyle Behaviours Scale II. The data obtained from the study will be analysed in a computer environment. Number, percentage, mean and standard deviation will be used as descriptive statistics in the evaluation of the data.
Haemorrhoids is a common problem with an estimated prevalence of 5 to 36%. Surgery is indicated in patients with grade 3 to 4 piles and in patients whom conservative measures have failed. There have been several surgical techniques described such as the Milligan- Morgan, Ferguson haemorrhoidectomy, stapled and laser haemorrhoidectomy. However, most patients experience different degrees of postoperative pain which may cause anxiety and dissatisfaction. A relatively non-invasive and cost-effective technique targeting inflammation is cryotherapy which has been shown to decrease pain secondary to trauma, injury or disease. Cryotherapy has few deleterious side effects due to its non-pharmacologic nature and has become widespread in sports medicine to treat soft tissue damage. Therefore, we aim to evaluate the role of cryotherapy in improving postoperative pain and outcomes among patients who undergo haemorrhoidectomy.
The goal of the present randomized clinical trial is to assess the long-term osseous and peri-implant soft tissue changes as well as the success rate of short implants (6 mm) with a converging collar with micro threads or a diverging polished collar placed in the esthetic zone of the maxilla on partially edentulous patients. The main questions it aims to answer are: - what are the long-term bone and soft tissue changes around implants with a converging collar with micro threads compared to a diverging polished collar placed in the esthetic zone of the maxilla? - What is the success rate of implants with a converging collar with micro threads compared to a diverging polished collar placed in the esthetic zone of the maxilla? Dental implants with a converging collar with micro threads or a diverging polished collar will be placed in the esthetic zone of the maxilla of the included participants and the measurements regarding the bone and soft tissue level will be compared.
Epidural anesthesia is a widely used method for pain relief which is useful in various settings. Identification of needle entry into the epidural space (EDS) is performed most using a loss of resistance (LOR) technique, which was described in 1921 by Sicard and Forestier, and has remained largely unchanged since. Hysterectomy operations anesthesia and analgesia rely heavily on proper needle placement technique. A noninvasive approach to confirm the correct position of the epidural needle prior to injection of local anesthetics into the epidural space, would thus be beneficial. Ultrasound (US) is a noninvasive approach increasingly used in anesthesia practice. The use of color flow Doppler (CFD) may further aid in defining the epidural space. The aim of current study is to detect and confirm site of epidural catheter in hysterectomy by using color flow doppler ultrasonography.
The primary aim of the project is to analyse gene expression in individual types of ectopic endometrium (ovarian endometriosis, peritoneal endometriosis, deep infiltrating endometriosis) and compare it with gene expression in eutopic endometrium. The analysis focuses on the identification of genes with significantly increased expression in each type of ectopic endometrium and comparison of their expression with the degree of disease, ovarian reserve and clinical manifestations of the disease (pain, infertility).
1. To study the pharmacokinetics between remimazolam besylate and alfentanil; 2. To determine the optimal dosage of the two drugs in awake endotracheal intubation; 3. To provide clinical guidance for awake endotracheal intubation.
There will be a long term effects of action observation therapy and mirror therapy on upper limb functional outcomes after subacute stroke.
Evaluation of postoperative outcomes of Chiari type I Malformation Patients at Department of Neurosurgery Assiut University Hospital .
This is a clinical trial from Eastern Cooperative Thoracic Oncology Project (ECTOP), numbered as ECTOP-1018. The goal of this clinical trial is to confirm the theraputic effect of selective lymph node dissection for cT1N0M0 invasive non-small cell lung cancer with CTR>0.5 located in the apical segment. The main questions it aims to answer are: The 5-year overall survival of patients having cT1N0M0 invasive non-small cell lung cancer with CTR>0.5 located in the apical segment; The post-operative lymph node metastasis and recurrence-free survival. Participants will receive selective lymph node dissection as the surgical procedure.
