Filter by:The goals of this pilot study are as follows: 1) To disseminate and examine the effectiveness of a manualized, individual, cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy (CBT) for adults with Generalized Anxiety Disorder(GAD), 2) to test the effectiveness of augmentation (the addition of) antidepressant therapy in participants who do not fully respond to CBT, and 3) to examine individual and clinical predictors of non-response to CBT and predictors of response to augmentation antidepressant therapy. A related goal is to examine the maintenance of treatment gains obtained from CBT alone and CBT with augmentation antidepressant therapy, over a twenty-four month follow-up period. This study will serve as a pilot investigation in preparation for a larger federally funded study using this treatment approach. We hypothesize that CBT will result in remission (no longer having GAD) and/or high endstate functioning (clinically meaningful improvement) in approximately 40-50% of participants. Further, we hypothesize that augmentation antidepressant therapy in participants who do not fully respond to CBT will result in further clinically significant improvement.
The purpose of the study is to examine the effectiveness and tolerability of quetiapine for the treatment of social anxiety disorder (SAD). The hypothesis is that quetiapine will be effective and well-tolerated for patients with social anxiety disorder.
The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness and tolerability of augmentation treatment of ziprasidone to achieve remission among patients with social anxiety disorder (SAD) who did not remit on sertraline treatment alone
A 12-Month, Open-Label, Flexible-Dosage Study to Evaluate the Safety and Efficacy of GABITRIL Treatment in Adults with Generalized Anxiety Disorder.
A novel procedure for generalized anxiety disorder where an odorant cue is paired with the state of deep relaxation during training. It is hypothesized that by smelling the odor in an anxiety-provoking situation, the patient will more easily invoke a state of relaxation, providing greater relief from the distressing tension and worry that characterize GAD.
The main purpose of this study is to determine how safe and effective Gabitril is for outpatients with Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD).
The proposal will assess the effectiveness of SRI treatment of anxiety following TBI. We hypothesize that participants will report significantly fewer and less severe anxiety symptoms after a 12-week course of citalopram than after a 12-week course of placebo.
It is hypothesized that the use of aripiprazole (Abilify) in patients with alcohol and/or drug dependence with comorbid psychiatric conditions will lead to: - Reduction in the amount of alcohol and/or drugs used as measured by the Time Line Follow Back (TLFB) and the Addiction Severity Index (ASI) - Reduction in cravings for alcohol and drugs as measured by the Penn Alcohol Craving Scale - Reduction in symptoms of co-morbid psychiatric disorders compared to before starting aripiprazole.
The purpose of this study is to find out if Thought Field Therapy has effect on certain anxiety disorders; agoraphobia, social phobia, and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
This study is a Phase 2 trial to test the efficacy of LY686017 in the treatment of Social Anxiety Disorder.
