NCT ID: NCT05798078 Recruiting - Social Anxiety Clinical Trials

The Relationship Between Social Anxiety and Anxious Thinking Styles

Start date: May 16, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study aims to investigate whether reductions in negative interpretation biases, induced via an experimental manipulation (Cognitive Bias Modification for Interpretation; CBM-I), lead to reductions in symptoms of social anxiety amongst individuals experiencing high levels of social anxiety. The study further aims to investigate the relationship between multifaceted measures of interpretation bias, psychopathological symptoms, neurophysiological indices, behavioral indices of stress reactivity, and SAD symptoms. To achieve these aims a sample of individuals experiencing high levels of social anxiety will be recruited. After completing multi-faceted measures of interpretation bias, including neurophysiological indices, participants will be randomized to complete an online one-week daily CBM-I or sham training control condition training schedule. Following the one week training, individuals will return to the lab to complete further multi-faceted measures of interpretation bias and social anxiety symptoms. One week after this (i.e. 2 weeks post-basline), participants will complete a final set of symptom and bias measures online.

NCT ID: NCT05784259 Recruiting - Depression Clinical Trials

Development of Transdiagnostic Single-session Treatment

Start date: October 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to test a single session treatment program in primary care patients with anxiety and/or depression and/or stress-related issues. The main questions it aims to answer is: - Will the transdiagnostic treatment program decrease symptoms of depression/anxiety/stress? - Will the transdiagnostic treatment program decrease transdiagnostic risk factors? - Will the transdiagnostic treatment program decrease the measured risk factors equally? - Will the transdiagnostic treatment program impact patients with anxiety, depression or stress disorders equally? - Will the transdiagnostic treatment program have long term (6 months post-treatment) effect on transdiagnostic risk factors? - Will the transdiagnostic treatment program have long term (6 months post-treatment) effect on anxiety, depression, or stress-symptoms? - Have the participants been able to generalize the skills taught in the program(qualitative)? - Within group that were treated with single-session treatment and recieved additional care before follow-up, was there a difference in outcome?

NCT ID: NCT05766436 Recruiting - Emergence Agitation Clinical Trials

Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this feasibility and pilot study is to investigate the feasibility and preliminary clinical effects of a new rule-based chatbot intervention for adolescents with anxiety symptoms. The main questions are: - Is the intervention feasible for adolescents who are experiencing anxiety symptoms? - How do the adolescents experience the use of the intervention? - Does the intervention lead to a reduction in anxiety symptoms? - Does the intervention lead to a clinically significant reliable improvement at functional level?

NCT ID: NCT05754151 Recruiting - Depression Clinical Trials

Mobile CBT for Middle Aged and Older Adults

Start date: June 16, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study aims to assess a mobile iPhone app called MAYA for use in middle-aged and older adults with anxiety or mood disorders. The MAYA app is designed to teach coping skills for anxiety and depression that are drawn from cognitive behavioral therapy. Participants will be asked to use the app for at least two days a week, 20 minutes on each day, for six weeks. Participants will have weekly check-ins as well as longer assessments at the beginning of the study, week 3, week 6 (end of treatment), and week 12 (follow up). During assessments, participants will answer brief questionnaires designed to assess their symptoms and impressions of the app. The main hypotheses of the study are that participants will complete most of the assigned sessions and that they will rate their impressions of the app highly. The secondary hypotheses are that symptoms of depression and anxiety will decrease with use of the MAYA app.

NCT ID: NCT05752708 Recruiting - Surgery Clinical Trials

Perioperative Anxiety Risk Factors in Parents of Children Undergoing Thoracic Surgery

Start date: January 16, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Risk factors associated with perioperative anxiety in parents of pediatric patients undergoing thoracic surgery are unknown. It is therefore necessary to identify them in order to better understand, above all, modifiable factors. This will allow the implementation of psychological interventions tailored to the individual needs of parents to strengthen their coping mechanisms before surgery, and thus facilitate the recovery process of their children after surgery. The purpose of the study is: 1. assessment of the level of anxiety experienced by parents before and after thoracic surgery, 2. assessment of risk factors for parents' perioperative anxiety, 3. assessment of the relationship between parents' perioperative anxiety and satisfaction with postoperative analgesia

The ENCALM trial is designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of ENX-102 in patients diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD)

NCT ID: NCT05748613 Recruiting - Anxiety Clinical Trials

Treatment of Stress and Anxiety in MCI/Mild ADRD

Start date: November 2, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to test the effectiveness of a computerized anxiety sensitivity treatment (CAST) compared to a health education control (HEC) in older adults with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or mild Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias (ADRD) and their care partners. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. Efficacy of CAST in reducing anxiety and related symptoms among those with MCI/mild ADRD 2. Efficacy of CAST in reducing care partner burden among care partners of people living with MCI/mild ADRD 3. Explore treatment mechanisms using a multi-modal assessment battery of anxiety sensitivity and anxiety Participants will complete six in-person visits including a baseline assessment, two intervention sessions, and three follow-up assessments at 1, 3, and 6-months posttreatment. Participants will also complete three weeks of ecological momentary assessments (EMAs) for one week prior to intervention, one week between intervention sessions, and one week after intervention. If there is a comparison group: Researchers will compare CAST to HEC to see if CAST reduces anxiety and related symptoms in older adults with MCI/mild ADRD and care partner burden to a greater degree than HEC.
