Filter by:This study includes a retrospective and prospective study will enroll patients with pelvic venous disorders who have undergone pelvic vein surgery and endovascular interventions. Three groups of patients will be formed. The first will include patients who underwent open retroperitoneal resection of the gonadal veins and endoscopic trans- and retroperitoneal resection of the gonadal veins. The second group will include patients who underwent embolization of the gonadal veins with coils, the third - patients who underwent stenting of the common iliac veins, or stenting of the iliac veins in combination with embolization of the gonadic veins with coils. Evaluation of the effectiveness and safety of interventions on the pelvic veins will be carried out by assessing the effect of the intervention on pelvic pain, morphological and functional state of the pelvic veins. The assessment of the safety of interventions on the pelvic veins will be carried out by assessing the severity of post-procedural pain, the frequency of complications of operations on the pelvic veins, and complications of anesthesia. In addition, the duration of pelvic vein interventions will be compared with the length of time the patient is in hospital. Based on the data obtained, an algorithm will be proposed for determining the choice of the method of interventions on the pelvic veins in patients with pelvic venous disorders.
We aimed this study to determine and compare frequency of induction of ovulation in women with polycystic ovarian syndrome treated with Letrozole versus clomiphene citrate as published literature shows variations.
Clinical trials of prevention modalities for Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection and coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and pneumonia are underway under separate protocol(s) for close contacts (i.e., household contacts, [e.g.,3502]) of infectious (index) individuals (3502-01). Characterizing the index individuals within households will ascertain the risk of exposure for the contact participant. These data will be used to strengthen the precision of efficacy estimates. This ancillary observational study will assess the cofactors for infectiousness among index individuals whose close contacts are enrolled in COVID-19 prevention clinical trials. Additionally, this study will assess post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection in index individuals that are more than two weeks past their initial diagnosis.
The investigators evaluate the effect of Ultrasound guided Rhomboid Intercostal Block and Erector Spinal Plane Block on lower cervical and inter scapular Myofascial Pain
A number of previous studies investigated the effects of kinesiotaping (KT) in subacromial impingement syndrome (SIS).
To understand the benefits of the neurolens Measurement Device and neurolens treatment as it pertains to treating symptoms related to Chronic Headaches. It is a Prospective randomized double masked two arm performed on a minimum of 200 to a maximum of 300 subjects identified as symptomatic (HIT-6 questionnaire score equal to or greater than 56) done across 3-15 clinical sites. There are two subgroups: a minimum of 100 in each subgroup (subgroup 1: pre-presbyopic (18-40 years); subgroup 2: presbyopic subjects (41-60 years).
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is one of the most common, yet still not fully understood, gastrointestinal disorders in adults. One suspected etiology involves intestinal dysbiosis, i.e. both quantitative and qualitative alterations in intestinal microbiota composition, which affects the gut-brain axis. Probiotics are live microorganisms, which-administered at the right dose-are beneficial for human health; their mechanism of action involves modifying the gut microbiota. Clinical study reports document that probiotic administration is beneficial for patients with IBS. The ultimate clinical effects depend primarily on probiotic strain selection. Our research team evaluated a multi-strain probiotic formulation and a multi-strain synbiotic (a combination of probiotic strains with short-chain prebiotic fructooligosaccharides) formulation as part of two randomized placebo-controlled clinical trials in patients with IBS with predominant diarrhea. The results indicated a beneficial effect of these formulations on the clinical course of IBS assessed with the international IBS symptom severity scale (IBS-SSS), with each of the study formulations exhibiting efficacy in different fields. The formulation composed of a mixture of Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus strains reduced the levels of pain and improved the quality of life, whereas the synbiotic formulation effectively improved bloating and had a beneficial effect on the general condition of the intestines. A systematic review and meta-analysis published in 2020 showed that high doses of single-strain formulations, particularly those containing Bifidobacterium or Lactobacillus strains, may be more effective in IBS patients. Other reports demonstrated a high efficacy of the new-generation probiotic Bacillus coagulans in IBS. Therefore, the main objective of this research project is to assess the efficacy of single-strain probiotics containing Bifidobacterium lactis or Bacillus coagulans in patients with IBS.
The aim of our study is to investigate the effectiveness of Pulse Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMT) versus placebo on pain, quality of life, shoulder function and isokinetic assessment, and muscle strength in the treatment of subacromial impingement syndrome.
This study compared the effects of patellar taping and electromyographic-biofeedback (EMG-BF) guided isometric quadriceps strengthening at different knee angles in patello-femoral pain syndrome (PFPS).
The aim of this study is to find the effectiveness of exercise therapy and manipulative therapy for patients with maigne's syndrome. It is a Randomized clinical trial and convenient random sampling is to be used with an inclusion criteria of patients having maignes syndrome without having neurological signs and specific spinal pathology like disc lesion ,malignancy or inflammatory disease and any other major medical conditions .
