NCT ID: NCT05699798 Completed - Clinical trials for Myofascial Pain Syndrome

The Aim of This Study is to Compare the Effects of Instrument-assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) and Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT) Used in Myofascial Pain Syndrome (MPS) and to Determine Whether They Are Superior to Conservative Treatment (CT)

Start date: June 27, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The Aim of This Study is to Compare the Effects of Instrument-assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) and Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT) Used in Myofascial Pain Syndrome (MPS) and to Determine Whether They Are Superior to Conservative Treatment (CT). 42 Female Patients Diagnosed With MPS Were Included in the Study. The Patients Were Randomly Divided Into Three Groups of 14 People Each. CT (Hot Pack, TENS, Ultrasound) Was Applied to the First Group. CT+IASTM Was Applied to the Second Group and CT+ESWT Was Applied to the Third Group. All Groups Received Treatment for 3 Weeks (CT: 5 Sessions Per Week, 15 Sessions in Total, ESWT and IASTM: 2 Sessions Per Week, 6 Sessions in Total). Neck Stretching Exercises Were Given to All Patients as a Home Program. Before and After the Treatment, the Pain Intensity of the Patients Was Determined by Visual Analog Scale (VAS). Pressure Pain Threshold Was Measured With an Algometer. Cervical Joint Range of Motion (CROM) Was Measured With a CROM Device. Pain, Cervical Mobility, Quality of Life, and Sleep Parameters Were Evaluated With the Neck Outcome Score Questionnaire (NOOS). Depression and Anxiety Parameters Were Evaluated With the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS).

NCT ID: NCT05699057 Completed - Clinical trials for Computer Vision Syndrome

Tendency to Suicide as a Sequel of Computer Vision Syndrome

Start date: October 30, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

CVS-F4 questionnaire will be used as an instrument to survey prevalence of tendency to suicide among medical students in the Egyptian Universities and analyse associated risk factors and any correlated determents

NCT ID: NCT05698797 Completed - Clinical trials for Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome

Proprioceptive Training vs. Hip Abductor With External Rotator Strengthening in Patients With Patellofemoral Pain

Start date: November 11, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS) is a common musculoskeletal disorder characterized by an insidious onset of pain in the knee's anterior /retro-patellar / peripatellar region. Even though various rehabilitation approaches, including hip strengthening and proprioceptive training, are being considered for managing PFPS, the most appropriate treatment from these two is still unclear. Therefore, this study aimed to compare the program consisting of hip abductors and external rotators strengthening exercises vs. the program consisting of proprioceptive training of the knee to identify the most effective rehabilitation approach for patients suffering from PFPS.

NCT ID: NCT05698420 Completed - Depressive Disorder Clinical Trials

Investigation of the Effects of Medium Cut-off Dialyzers Versus High-Flux Dialyzers on Clinical and Laboratory Parameters of Prevalent Hemodialysis Patients

Start date: March 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

In this study, the investigators aimed to observe the effects of medium cut-off dialysis filters and high-flux dialysis filters on malnutrition inflammation score, uremic itching, restless leg syndrome, anemia, and ESA treatment, which are prominent complications in hemodialysis, and routine follow-up parameters.

NCT ID: NCT05698381 Completed - Depression Clinical Trials

Daily Vinegar Ingestion and Metabolic Health

Start date: February 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine if vinegar ingestion promotes beneficial changes to metabolic health parameters in healthy, overweight adults.

NCT ID: NCT05697536 Completed - Clinical trials for Premenstrual Syndrome

Comparison of Pilates and Aerobic Exercises on Pain, Anxiety and QOL in PMS

Start date: January 15, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The significance of this study is that it may improve the premenstrual symptoms like pain and anxiety in females with premenstrual syndrome and improve their quality of life. This study may add to the growing body of knowledge that if these two techniques yield comparable outcomes and if one technique is superior to the other, which should be the alternative choice of therapy. Therefore, the study will be done to compare the effects of Pilate exercises and aerobic exercises on pain, anxiety and quality of life in females with premenstrual syndrome.

NCT ID: NCT05696587 Completed - Clinical trials for Complex Regional Pain Syndromes

Physical and Psychological Changes in CRPS Patients Undergoing Multimodal Rehabilitation

Start date: October 10, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn about cognitive changes during rehabilitation in CRPS patients. The main questions it aims to answer are: - What are the cognitive changes in CRPS? - Do cognitive functions change during multimodal rehabilitation in CRPS? - What is the effect of multimodal rehabilitation on pain, functioning, mood, active range of motion, cognitive functions. Participants will undergo a 4-week program of multimodal rehabilitation of physical therapy, education and Graded Motor Imagery. Assessment will be made at baseline and after 4 weeks. Researchers will compare the interventional arm with healthy control to see if the observed psychological results are exclusive to CRPS group. There is no expanded access scheduled for this study.

NCT ID: NCT05693337 Completed - Clinical trials for Complex Regional Pain Syndromes

Infrared Imaging in Complex Regional Pain Syndrome

Start date: January 9, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This research proposal aims to investigate the potential use of Infrared (FLIR) imaging to monitor the successful achievement of the sympathetic blockade in patients with complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS).

NCT ID: NCT05693051 Completed - ARDS, Human Clinical Trials

Use of Prone Position Ventilation in Danish Patients With COVID-19 Induced Severe ARDS Treated With VV-ECMO

Start date: October 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Prone position ventilation was used 220 times in 44 out of 68 patients with severe COVID-19 induced ARDS treated with VV-ECMO. PPV treated patients did not benefit from PPV and the incidence of PPV related adverse events was high

NCT ID: NCT05692557 Completed - Clinical trials for Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome

Virtual Reality Distraction Technique to Improve Chest Burns With Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome

Start date: September 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Inhalation of toxic gases and chemical irritants during the fire leads to damage to the respiratory tract or the alveolar tissue, which is known as smoke inhalation injury. Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) is associated with smoke inhalation injury. These patients usually need physiotherapy in the form of chest mobilization and breathing exercises for up to 4 to 6 weeks after discharge from the burns care centre. The patients during this phase are usually in pain and extremely anxious about these exercises. Virtual reality distraction (VRD) is one such technique that is gaining immense popularity recently, it has more immersive distraction when compared to traditional distraction techniques. This study aims to investigate the effect of a virtual reality distraction (VRD) technique as a pain alleviation tool for reducing pain during physiotherapy in burns patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) in a hospital setting.
