Filter by:The levator scapulae is an important postural muscle that tends to shorten or become tight because of overactivity and bad posture, leading to neck and shoulder pain. Levator scapulae syndrome is usually caused by the poor shoulders posture as rounded shoulders as sitting at a computer hunched. It is exacerbated by sustained neck postures, neck movements or levator scapulae muscle palpation. The aim of study will be to determine the effects of post isometric relaxation with scapular stabilization exercises on pain, disability and range of motion in patients with levator scapulae syndrome.
Down's syndrome (DS) is a genetic condition characterized by the presence of an extra chromosome 21, leading to various clinical symptoms. Individuals with DS often experience challenges in balance, posture, and motor skills, which can impact their daily activities. Pilates activities focus on the concept of control of muscles. Pilates increases trunk flexibility, abdominal and core strength and endurance, and deep core muscle activation hence improving balance and posture.

Piriformis muscle syndrome (PMS) is a neuromuscular disorder that can cause symptoms of hip joint motion limitation, buttock pain and tenderness, and numbness radiating to the back of the thigh due to compression or irritation of the sciatic nerve.In the etiology of PMS myofascial trigger points are the most common cause and also hypertrophy in the piriformis muscle tissue, inflammation, trauma, anatomical variations of the piriformis muscle or sciatic nerve may also cause the development of PMS . Physical examination supports the diagnosis of PMS and may help to eliminating competing diagnoses. Multiple physical examination maneuvers have been identified to help diagnose but no physical examination maneuver is diagnostic for PMS. Compression and deep palpation may also exacerbate buttock or gluteal pain. Electrodiagnostic tests are usually normal in FMS and useful in excluding other conditions such as lumbosacral radiculopathy .There is no gold standard treatment option for PMS, conservative treatment and lifestyle changes remain the mainstays for the treatment. Piriformis muscle stretching is the form of an exercise technique in physiotherapy method that is generally used for those patients. The exercises focused on relaxing the priformis muscle to increase the resting length of the muscle and reduce the potential sciatic nerve compression because of this thigtness. Dry needling (DN) therapy is a treatment method where myofascial trigger points are stimulated using acupuncture needles or injection needles .DN can be applied according to the anatomical landmark method or under the guidance of ultrasound (US) and fluoroscopic imaging. US guidance is important in the management of PMS, which allows imaging of specific deep muscle groups and avoids complications such as procedural pain and damage of neurovascular structures . There are no randomized controlled studies other than case series on the use and frequency of application of the US-guided DN technique in PMS. The aim of this study is to compare the effectiveness of dry needling treatment applied to the piriformis muscle once a week for a total of 3 times under US guidance and 3-week exercise program treatment in PMS. The secondary outcomes of this study is to evaluate and compare the effect of these treatment modalities on Visuel Analg Scale (VAS) scores ,Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), lower extremity functional scale (LEFS) and (Douleur Neuropathique 4 Questionare ) DN4 scores in PMS patients at 3 months follow up.
This study assessed if integrating monochromatic infrared energy (MIRE) would affect pain, dynamic postural control, functional status, and health-related quality of life in adolescents with patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS). Forty-six patients with PFPS were randomly allocated to the MIRE group (n = 23, received the received MIRE in addition to the traditional physical therapy program) or the control group (n = 23, received the traditional physical therapy program only). Both groups were assessed for pain, dynamic postural control, functional status, and health-related quality before and after intervention.

The endovascular recanalization and stenting technique has become the gold standard treatment for medically resistant and disabling PTS. Stent thrombosis is a significant complication of this procedure; the risk factors for thrombosis are poorly understood. Monitoring the patency of the stent is a key component in maintaining clinical success. Doppler ultrasound is the first-line diagnostic tool for monitoring patients with venous stents, and has the potential to allow accurate assessment of venous stent obstruction. Absence of validated morphological and hemodynamic echodoppler criteria for the follow-up of these stents. • Main objective: Clinical and hemodynamic results of venous recanalisations by stenting in the chronic phase • Secondary objective (s): - External validation of hemodynamic criteria proposed in the literature to detect venous stent obstruction - Risk factors for venous stent restenosis

shoulder sub acromial impingement syndrome is an encroachment of subacrormial tissues, rotator cuff, subacrormial bursa, and the long head of the biceps tendon, as a result of narrowing of the subacrormial space. Activities requiring repetitive or sustained use of the arms over head often predispose the rotator cuff tendon to injury. Hence the objective of the study is to examine the influence of extra corporeal Shock wave versus phonophoresis on pain severity and functional disability in patients with sub acromial impingement syndrome.
