Formulation and Evaluation of Topical Preparation Containing Pomegranate and Ginkgo Biloba for Anti-aging Activities
As the quality of life improves, people are seeking to look as young as they feel. Ginkgo biloba (GB) and Pomegranate (PG) extract can be used to create efficacious topical anti-aging products. GB & PG are now widely used in research and clinical trials on age-associated diseases, for example, skin aging, brain dysfunction, cardiovascular system diseases, carcinogen metabolism. The investigator's aim is to formulate a topical cream in the form (O/W or W/O emulsion) formulation, containing GB as an anti-aging formulation for the public.

Acarbose as a Safe Effective Modulator of Aging Deficits in Geriatric Subjects
This study addresses a "lifespan approach to healthy development and aging" with direct relevance to humans by testing the anti-aging effects of acarbose in humans. It is a pilot study to: i) better estimate power for a larger trial, ii) establish the safety and potential beneficial effects of acarbose in non-diabetic elderly humans, and iii) determine whether the effects of acarbose on the microbiome likely play a role in its enhancement of longevity and/or healthy aging. These are essential initial steps for translating acarbose into an anti-aging human therapy.

The Tolerability and Efficacy of a Three Product Anti-Aging Treatment Regimen in Subjects With Moderate to Severe Photodamage
The subjects will use the test skincare products. This is a full face, twice daily application study, with digital photos and expert grader evaluations at Baseline, 4 and 8 week periods. If the subject meets the study criteria and is enrolled, they will be instructed at screening visit to discontinue the use of any facial products (except dry mineral foundation and eye make-up) for seven (7) days before beginning the study (referred to as the "washout" period). They will return to the site for the baseline visit 2 after the required 7 day washout period (visit can occur within 1 week after screening visit).

Can Fish Oil and Phytochemical Supplements Mimic Anti-Aging Effects of Calorie Restriction?
The purpose of this study is to determine if a combination of 10 nutritional supplements provide health benefits that are consistent with protection against age-related disease. All supplements have been shown in previous studies to have health benefits when administered alone. The hypothesis is that 6 months of taking 10 nutritional supplements each day will provide beneficial changes in healthy related measures.

CID 0708 - Sex, Aging and Antiretroviral Pharmacokinetics
The purpose of this research study is to learn about levels of antiretroviral drug levels and response to HIV virus in the genital tract of women who are post-menopausal. The investigators in this study think that the levels of hormones post-menopausal HIV-infected women may have in their bodies may affect the levels of antiretroviral drug, and therefore affect how much HIV virus they have in their bodies. Since women who have already gone through menopause have different levels of hormones, such as estrogen, than women who are pre-menopausal, the investigators would like to check the levels of antiretroviral drugs in their blood, their genital secretions, and their genital tissue.
