Diagnostics of Coronavirus Disease 2019 Cardiovascular Complications

Aim of this prospective, observational, multi-centered, randomized study is to detect cardiovascular complications in patients after coronavirus infection. The study will include 100 patients who underwent confirmed by laboratory tests COVID-19 infection (polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (positive result at least 1 time)) 1-3 months ago with the degree of lung lesion more than 25%, who were admitted to the University Clinical Hospital No. 4 of I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University. The study consists of 4 periods: 1. Screening for up to 6 months. 2. Inclusion in the study, undergoing of identical laboratory and instrumental testing. 3. Re-examination of patients. After 6 months from the initial examination (9 months after discharge from the infectious diseases department), patients will be re-examined. 4 Determination of end points, statistical data processing. Estimated result of the study is to confirm or refute the hypothesis: 1. As a result of the analysis of ECG and pulse wave data and comparison with echocardiography data, identify cardiovascular complications of COVID-19 infection. 2. To determine the diagnostic significance of pulse wave parameters for assessing cardiovascular complications in patients with a history of COVID-19 infection (sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive value). 3. Identify correlations between pulse wave parameters and biochemical markers of endothelial dysfunction (endothelin-1). 4. As a result of the analysis of exhaled air by the proton mass spectrometry, to identify markers of cardiovascular complications in patients after COVID-19 infection. 5. As a result of a cardiorespiratory stress test, determine the respiratory and cardiovascular causes of dyspnea, exercise tolerance of patients after infection with COVID-19.

The goal of this observational study is to gather data about surgical procedures for rectal prolapse in adult human subjects. The main question it aims to answer is: • Which procedure is best for treating external rectal prolapse? Participants will: - be included if they can consent to participation - be offered standard care treatment, as no interventions will be done - be asked to answer relevant questionnaires within 3 months prior to the surgery for rectal prolapse - be asked to answer the same questionnaires 6 and 12 months postoperative - optionally answer the questionnaires again at 3 and 1 year postoperative, but this is not part of the existing funding body

a Research About the Effect of Body Awareness on Work Motivation and Quality of Life, Among Primary School Teachers

The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of body awareness levels of teachers working in primary schools on work motivation and quality of life. In addition, the age, gender, height, weight, period of experience in the profession, smoking, branch, education level and current disease status of the teachers included in the study were also examined according to the questionnaire and evaluation scales. At the same time, the postures of the teachers were also evaluated. The universe of the research consists of teachers working in public schools in Istanbul between April 2022 and September 2022. The sample, on the other hand, was determined as a total of 120 healthy volunteer teachers, 60 women and 60 men, who teach in 4 primary education institutions in avcılar and esenyurt districts of Istanbul. Before starting the study, approval was obtained from the ethics committee of non-interventional clinical studies of Istanbul Arel University. Permission letters were obtained from the 4 primary education institutions where the study would be conducted and added to the ethics committee application form. The importance and purpose of the study were explained to all teachers who agreed to participate in the study. All necessary information was given on the subject that the results of the study would be used for scientific purposes, their identities would be kept confidential, and participants could withdraw from the study at any time, and their written consent was included in the informed consent form.

Palliative Care for Patients With Liver Cirrhosis

Background: Patients with liver cirrhosis rarely receive palliative care although the Danish Health Authorities and WHO recommend it. The lacking palliative intervention is probably owed to a physician culture focused on life-prolonging active treatment at any cost and unclarities, and misperceptions about palliative care, which is perceived by many as exclusively for cancer patients and something that marks the end of active treatment. Study aim: Measure the effect of palliative care on the patient burden, caregiver burden, and the utilization of healthcare services. Study design: Prospective multi-center intervention study with end of study at the patients' death. We will use a 3-faceted endpoint 1) Patient burden measured by change in Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, 2) caregiver burden by a change in Zarit Caregiver Burden Questionnaire, and 1) health care system burden as the difference in number, length, and indication for hospital admissions and need for outpatient services. Patients: We will prospectively include 200 patients with liver cirrhosis (approx. 50 from each of 4-5 sites: Esbjerg, Herlev, Hvidovre, Århus) who have 2 or more items checked on the Supportive and Palliative Care Indicators Tool. Control groups will be identified from two non-participating hospitals and matched regarding age, gender, number of comorbidities, and alcohol and caregiver status. Methods: The intervention will be advanced care planning with conversations and actions built around a standardized symptom identification tool (EORTC QLQ-C15-PAL). Advance care planning is the collaborative process between patients and health care professionals of planning future health care. The assignment of a contact nurse to each participant is a key part of the intervention. Results: We will measure patient and caregiver burden at inclusion, after 4-6 weeks, 4-6 months, and every 6 months until the patient dies. All use of health care services will be registered. The use of health care services during the terminal 2 years will be compared that of control patients.

Effect of Mobile Application on Urinary Incontinence

The first phase was designed in a methodological pattern in order to develop, usability, and performance of mobile application (mobileapp) called "My Fight with Incontinence". Aim of the second phase of the study was to evaluate the effect of mobileapp developed according to the health belief model on incontinence symptoms, Kegel exercise compliance, health belief and quality of life towards UI and kegel exercises in women with UI. The study was planned in a single-center, single-blind, one-to-one, parallel-group, randomized controlled trial design with a 3-month follow-up period. The research will be carried out in the Urology service and polyclinics of Eskişehir Osmangazi University Health Practice and Research Hospital. The study population of the research consists of 203 female patients over the age of 18 who were followed up with the diagnosis of Stress, Urge, and Mixed Type UI. Sample selection will not be made in the first stage of the study, and mobileapp will be tested on people aged 18 and over who can be reached, working, studying, or receiving treatment at Eskişehir Osmangazi University Training, Application and Research Hospital and Eskişehir Osmangazi University. The number of samples required for the study was determined by the power analysis made in the GPower 3.1 package program. Assuming that there may be losses during the follow-up and considering the possibility of nonparametric testing, a total of 96 individuals, 48 in each group, with an increase of 20%, will form the research group. In the second stage of the study, "Incontinence Severity Index Questionnaire", "International Urinary Incontinence Inquiry Form-Short Form (ICIQ-SF)", "Kegel Exercise Compliance Follow-up Form", "Health Belief Scale for Urinary Incontinence and Kegel Exercise", "Urogenital Distress Inventory-6 (UDI-6) and Incontinence Impact Questionnaire-7 (IIQ-7)" will be used. Control group will be given a training booklet called "My Fight with Incontinence", which includes healthy lifestyle behaviors, bladder training, and Kegel exercises related to UI after the pre-tests are applied. After pre-tests are applied to the study group, "My Fight with Incontinence" mobileapp will be installed on their mobile phones by researcher. Reminders will be sent to the patients on a regular basis via the mobileapp. Participants in both the control and study groups will be provided with the link of the survey form created via google forms in the 6th and 12th weeks by sending an SMS.

Effects Of Mindfulness-Based Yoga And Meditation Colorectal Cancer

In many systematic reviews, it has also been emphasized that different cancer groups and a large number of applications are needed in order to obtain definitive conclusions about the effect of various interventions applied to these patients (Smith et al, 2004: Mosher et al, 2017: Fieke, 2015). In addition, in the joint results of these studies, it was stated that there are very few studies supporting the effectiveness of psychosocial interventions for CRC patients, and these studies have a limited evidence base, and specifically due to the lack of strong evidence regarding the physiological and psychological difficulties of cancer treatment in the CRC patient group and the practices performed. The level of evidence needs to be strengthened with further studies. Based on these reasons, the various difficulties experienced by CRC survivors and the lack of strong evidence in the systematic analyzes led us to conduct this study.

Digital Symptom Tracking, Patient Engagement and Quality of Life in Advanced Cancer

The purpose of this study is to (1) describe patient and clinician engagement in web-based symptom self-monitoring, (2) identify differences in symptom management between intervention and usual care groups, and (3) identify potential outcomes of real-time symptom tracking and management. With the assistance of the study coordinator, participants randomized to the intervention will create an account with Noona. Patients will be instructed to log symptoms as often as relevant using their own personal devices. Patients will also be prompted once per week for 24 weeks to log any recent symptoms. These participants will be sent a Symptom Questionnaire (SQ) via the Noona tool that summarizes their symptoms and distress one week prior to each oncology clinic visit. Symptoms designated as clinically severe either during regular symptom logging or via the SQ will trigger a prompt to contact the clinical team for immediate follow-up.
