The investigators collected clinical data and serum samples of patients with polycystic ovary syndrome in this study, used statistical software such as SPSS for data analysis, and used experimental techniques such as ELISA to detect serum samples, aiming to explore the relationship between the body anthropometry, glucose and lipid metabolism, gonadal hormones and body fat distribution in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome and to discovery new biomarkers and promote the realization of more accurate personalized medicine.

Progesterone Action on Endometrium of PCOS

Objective: To study the influence of metabolic factors on the action of progesterone on the endometrium of women with PCOS. Design: A prospective open-label clinical trial. Setting: Participants were recruited from an outpatient reproductive endocrinology clinic at an academic tertiary medical care center from 2014 to 2019. Subjects: To assess the sole effect of progesterone (P4) on the endometrium we studied amenorrheic (cycles> 90 days) women with PCOS (n=23), comparing them to healthy eumenorrheic control women ( n=13). Intervention(s): All subjects underwent an endometrial biopsy (EB) in the follicular phase of the first study cycle. They were then treated with micronized P4 (400 mg/day x 10 days intravaginally) from days 14-28 of the cycle, and a second EB was performed between days 20-24 of the cycle (second phase). Main Outcome Measure(s): EB samples were analyzed under light microscopy for histomorphometric analysis.

Comparison Between The Effects Of Different Frequencies Of Ultrasonic Cavitation On Abdominal Adiposity And Female Hormones In Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome

Thirty women diagnosed with PCOS had participated in the study. They suffered from amenorrhea or oligo-menorrhea and subcapsular follicles. Their ages were from 20-35 years. Their BMI was from 30 - 35 kg/m². Their waist/hip ratio was ˃ 0.85. Their LH/FSH ratio was ≥ 1.5. They were recruited randomly from the outpatient clinic of gynecology in Minya governorate hospital. They were randomly assigned into two groups equal in number: (A and B); group A (n=15) received 40000HZ ultrasound cavitation, group B (n=15) received 2600HZ ultrasound cavitation. Treatment time was 30 minutes /sessions, 3 times/ week for two months. Both groups (A and B) received a low caloric diet (1200 Kcal/day). All participants had their medical treatment as prescribed by the physician.

Effect of Visceral Manipulation on PCOS

The study was conducted to determine the effect of visceral manipulation on menstrual irregularities and hormonal profile in women with polycystic ovarian syndrome. Thirty women were randomly and equally assigned into the group (A) (Control group), who received a low caloric diet (1200 Kcal/day) only for 3 months, and the group (B) (Study group), who received visceral manipulation to the pelvic organs and the related structures in addition to the same low-calorie diet as the group (A). Evaluations pre and post-study were done for body weight, BMI, female reproductive hormones, and menstruation-related problems.

Evaluation of Periodontal Status and hsCRP Levels in Females With PCOS on CPA/EE Combination Drug Regimen

PCOS is a widely reported condition among young female population and anti-androgen agents are increasingly being used as part of the medical management of such cases. However, Clinical studies have reported higher prevalence of gingival inflammation, loss of attachment and gingival enlargement in women taking hormone based oral contraceptives. Additionally, CPA has been reported to have an osteoclastic action. Therefore, it is necessary to explore whether these medications affect the periodontal condition of PCOS patients, who already are pre-disposed to systemic inflammation. Therefore, the present study aims to evaluate the periodontal status of female patients diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary syndrome on Cyproterone acetate/ethinyl estradiol combination regimen.

History of Exposure to Endocrine Disruptors in Women With Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Polycystic ovary syndrome is a common endocrine disorder that affects between 7% and 14% of women of childbearing age, leading to impaired fertility, clinical and biological hyperandrogenism. Long-term complications such as metabolic disorders, cardiovascular disease and hormone-dependent cancers make it a major public health problem. The physiopathology of this syndrome is complicated and still poorly understood, probably multifactorial origin, resulting from the interaction between many factors (genetics, lifestyle, environment). The environment has also an important role in the development of polycystic ovary syndrome : diet, exposure to pollutants and endocrine disruptors. There are many sources of exposure to environmental toxins and it is essential to better understand their impact on our health. Our study aims to assess the association between exposure to endocrine disruptors and development of polycystic ovary syndrome. The population involved in the study includes patients aged 18 to 50 years, premenopausal, consulting in the gynecology department of the university hospital of Reims. The "cases" patients will be patients with polycystic ovary syndrome. The "controls" patients will be patients without polycystic ovary syndrome. Statistical analysis will determine whether "cases" are more exposed to endocrine disruptors than "controls".

Consented, enrolled participants will complete a health questionnaire, complete a fasted blood draw at a local laboratory, and provide a stool, saliva, and vaginal swab sample for comprehensive biomarkers, hormones, metagenomics, and metabolomics analysis.

Prevalence of Hyperandrogenism in Type 1 Diabetes

The investigators aim to estimate the prevalence of functional ovarian hyperandrogenism [idiopathic hyperandrogenism, idiopatic hirsutism, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)] in adult patients with type 1 diabetes (T1DM) in an observational cross-sectional study. Study population is comprised of premenopausal adult women with a diagnosis of T1DM, consecutively recruited from a Diabetes outpatient clinic at a tertiary hospital in Spain, Europe.
