The 3Hs Family Drama Project (Phase 2) was an enhanced version of the 3Hs Family Drama Project to promote health, happiness, harmony (3Hs), healthy eating and physical activity in primary school students. Students watched the interactive live drama (long or short version) and are given DVD and worksheets. Students were encouraged to watch the DVD with other family members at home. The present study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and satisfaction levels of teachers, parents and students towards the drama project.

The study seeks to learn more about the health behaviors of young adults. Health behaviors include relationships, physical and mental health, alcohol use, and conflicts with others. The purpose of this study is to improve prevention and intervention programs for young adults.
This study will develop and pilot test a qigong intervention with older people (50 and over) living with HIV. Participants (n=48) will be randomly assigned to one of 3 conditions: the qigong intervention, a sham qigong intervention, and a usual standard of care group. The study will determine the acceptability and feasibility of the study. If found effective, the qigong intervention will also improve the psychological and physical symptoms of older people living with HIV.
The overall aim of this study is to explore if a structured drug review will change clinical symptoms and the psychotropic drugs prescription rate in the elderly living in nursing homes (participants of the study). The study will examine how training of nursing home physicians on reviewing prescription lists using the Norwegian general practice criteria - Nursing homes (NorGeP-NH) will influence the participants' clinical symptoms such as cognition, depression, anxiety and their quality of life. Secondary, we will analyse how a structured drug review will influence further psychotropic drug prescribing rates in nursing homes. The hypothesis for this study are: 1. Training of nursing home physicians on doing a systematic drug review will decrease the participants' clinical symptoms and improve their Quality of Life. 2. A systematic drug review will decrease the psychotropic drug prescription rates compared to before the drug review.
In recent years, Hong Kong is undergoing rapid changes together with macro social and economic trends. The increasingly complex and diverse family structure is leading to a major concern in the well-being of families, including their health, happiness and harmony (3Hs). Family life and health education should be strengthened to meet the increasing needs of healthy lifestyle promotion. In light of these concerns, the Happy Family Kitchen Movement (HFKM) project, with a focus on "FAMILY Holistic Health", will be conducted at territory-wide level in Hong Kong. HFKM is a community-based research project to develop, implement and evaluate a community-based family intervention program for improving family well-being. It is expected that participants of the community-based family interventions will gain knowledge on family holistic health and in turn promote a healthy lifestyle for 3Hs.
This project aims to support adults in HIV-affected families in order to improve their well-being. UCLA's Center for Community Health (CCH), in collaboration with the Thai Ministry of Public Health, Bureau of Epidemiology, will implement the Family-to-Family (F2F) intervention in order to improve the social, behavioral and mental health outcomes for families affected by HIV. In Phase 1, the investigators pilot tested the current intervention contents and activities by collecting qualitative data from HIV+ families in the four district hospitals in Chiang Rai and Nakohn Ratchasima provinces selected for the proposed study. The findings from Phase was used to develop intervention content, as well as the format and style of the intervention for Phase 2. In addition, the findings from Phase 1 was used to finalize the assessment measures the investigators will use in Phase 2. In Phase 2, 410 families with HIV+ parents from 4 district hospitals in Chiang Rai & Nakhon Ratchasima Provinces will be recruited to an intervention to benefit their school-aged children aged 6-17 years. At their clinical care site,the investigators randomly assigned families to either: 1) F2F, a psychoeducational intervention for HIV+ parents and family caregivers; or 2) a Standard Care condition. The impact of the F2F intervention will be monitored over 24 months.
- Context: Mothers living with HIV (MLH) and their children face predictable challenges: maintaining physical and mental health, parenting while ill, and addressing HIV-related stressors. - Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of a family-based intervention over time; to contrast the life adjustments of HIV-affected families and their non-HIV-affected neighbors in the current treatment era. - Design: Randomized controlled trial of MLH and a longitudinal comparison of MLH to a neighborhood cohort using random effect regression. - Participants and Intervention: MLH (n = 339) and their school-age children (n = 259) were randomly assigned to receive 1) an intervention of 16 sessions in a cognitive-behavioral, small-group format; or 2) control. MLH and their children were compared to non-HIV-affected families recruited at shopping markets. Participant retention was high: 84% at 6 months, 83% at 12 months, and 78% at 18 months. - Main Outcome Measures: Family functioning and conflict, mental and physical health, sexual behavior, and substance use.
Aim of the study: To investigate if the intervention described in this protocol has an effect on patients' and staff's physical health. Null hypothesis: There is no difference in waist circumference, body weight, quality of life and the rate of polypharmacy between the intervention and control groups after six months.
