The Effect of the PİKSEÇ App on Peripheral Intravenous Catheter Insertion on Success, Pain and Emotional Level in Children

The study employed a post-test non-randomized controlled trial to assess the impact of the PİKSEÇ (Peripheral Intravenous Catheter Selection) application on the success of peripheral intravenous catheter (PIVC) placement, as well as on the pain and emotional level scores of hospitalized preschool children aged 3-6 years. In preschool children, aged 3-6 years, who were hospitalized, anxiety about losing body integrity is commonly observed. Children tend to think that all the material inside their bodies can come out through a wound or hole during invasive procedures. Therefore, it becomes crucial to reduce anxiety related to invasive procedures in children of this age group. In this context, the study aimed to be conducted in preschool children.

The Effect of Shower on Birth Pain, Postpartum Fatigue and Comfort

According to the definition of the International Association for the Study of Pain, pain; It is an unpleasant sensory and emotional sensation and behavior related to the individual's past experiences, caused by real or potential tissue damage originating from any part of the body. Birth pain is the most severe pain experience known and defined, with physiological as well as psychological and sociocultural components that may vary among individuals.Pharmacological and non-pharmacological applications are used to relieve birth pain. While pharmacological methods reduce pain, they distract women from the physiological reality of birth and prevent women from accepting pain as a natural part of birth. Non-pharmacological methods are alternative options that will help women manage pain during birth by ensuring that women experience pain. Showering (hydrotherapy), one of the non-pharmacological methods used to reduce pain in labor, is used to increase relaxation and reduce birth pain. In a study conducted domestically, it was stated that the use of hydrotherapy during labor pain helped the woman relax, reduced the pain felt, lowered blood pressure and increased diuresis. Fatigue, in addition to being a universal symptom associated with diseases, is also a common complaint among healthy individuals. In line with the literature information, this study aims to examine the effect of shower applied during birth on postpartum fatigue and postpartum comfort.

Virtual Reality for Pain Management During Dupilumab Injection

The aim of this within-subject randomized study is to examine the efficacy of a VR immersive game for pain and anxiety management of children during the subcutaneous injection of dupilumab for moderate to severe atopic dermatitis. We will recruit children from 6 to 17 years. The main research question is: 1. Does VR immersive game will generate less anxiety and pain than standard procedures, for children receiving dupilumab injection for moderate to severe atopic dermatitis? 2. Does the occurence of side effects is similar between both study groups? Participants will be randomized according to either sequences: VR-Standard care or Standard care-VR. During the VR sequence, participants will be playing the VR immersive game during the injection. During the Standard care sequence participants will not benefit from any pain management but passive distraction tools will be offered (and documented) to children. The investigators will take measures of pain and anxiety, using validated scales, before and after the procedures at each sequence.

The Effect of Dance and Massage Applied by Partners at Birth on Birth Pain, Comfort and Satisfaction

Pregnancy and the moment of birth are important processes that women will remember throughout their lives and will always leave a mark on their lives. Birth pain is expressed as the most severe pain that women experience throughout their lives (although there is no standard measure due to the combination of different factors). Labor pain; It differs from other types of pain in that it is part of the natural process, occurs within a limited period of time, and the mother willingly endures this pain due to factors such as reuniting with her baby at the end of the process. Due to the possible negative effects of labor pain on maternal and fetal health, the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) and the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) accept labor pain as an indication that should be treated. recommends that this pain be taken under control. Nowadays, non-pharmacological methods such as "massage, pilates ball, music therapy, acupuncture, aromatherapy" are widely used to manage pain during birth. Massage, which is among the non-pharmacological methods, is the oldest treatment and sensual stimulation method in the world. Massage is generally the first choice method because it has no side effects and is easy to apply. Studies have shown that massage applied during birth provides physical and psychological relief, reduces pain, anxiety, agitation and depressive mood, and increases maternal satisfaction. Determining birth satisfaction is important as it is an indicator of the health status of the mother and newborn as well as the quality of intrapartum care.Birth dance is a combination of music therapy and freedom of movement methods, which is one of the non-pharmacological methods. Birth dance begins in the active phase of the first stage of labor in order to reduce the pain perceived by the woman and to provide emotional support, and continues until the end of the first stage. The woman is given the opportunity to move rhythmically with someone she prefers (spouse/partner, mother, midwife, etc.), accompanied by relaxing light music. In addition to the music and body movements included in the dance, it is aimed to increase the effectiveness of the applied method by adding spouse/partner support and upright positions and at the same time to provide emotional support to the woman.
