Effect of Coffee Consumption on Appetite Traits in Overweight and Obesity

Start date: January 31, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The effect of coffee consumption on appetite is not clear, there are studies that show an effect on the regulation of energy intake, reducing hunger and/or increasing satiety. The purpose of this trial is to evaluate the effect of 6 mg/caffeine/kg of body weight on hunger, satiety, dietary intake, biochemical variables and ghrelin and cholecystokinin concentration in overweight and obese women.

NCT ID: NCT05764291 Completed - Adolescent Behavior Clinical Trials

Digital Intervention to Improve Physical Activity Behaviour In Overweight and Obese Adolescents

Start date: April 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a study protocol to test the feasibility of a digital intervention aiming to increase physical activity in overweight and obese adolescents. This study will be conducted in the state of Selangor, Malaysia. The intervention will be provided in two public schools. Another two public schools, which will be matched on the basis of similar socioeconomic background of attending students and curriculum structure, will act as control group. Additional schools may be recruited to fulfil required sample size. A digital behaviour change intervention (FIT-TEENS) will be delivered to overweight and obese adolescents (aged 13-18 years) using an online learning platform (EdApp) over 10 weeks to provide information on physical activity and the behaviour change aspects towards physical activity. The participants who received the intervention will be compared with the control group, where no intervention will be delivered, who will be requested to continue their usual physical activities. To determine the feasibility of the intervention, the researchers will obtain views and overall satisfaction from participants on the intervention and trial, and determine the proportion of participants who completed all intervention modules and outcome measures. In addition to feasibility measures, participants' physical activity behaviour, self-efficacy and social support, as well as body weight and composition will be compared between the two groups. This study will establish whether FIT-TEENS intervention is feasible and acceptable to overweight and obese adolescents in increasing their physical activity behaviour.

NCT ID: NCT05762471 Completed - Clinical trials for Type2 Diabetes Mellitus

Participants will receive multiple-ascending doses of GSBR-1290 or Placebo from Day 1 to Day 84

NCT ID: NCT05758363 Completed - Overweight Clinical Trials

Effect of a Dietary Supplement on Weight Loss and Psychological Wellbeing in Overweight Individuals

Start date: March 9, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this randomized, parallel, two-arm, placebo-controlled, double-blind, multicenter clinical trial is to evaluate the efficacy of a dietary supplement on weight loss and psychological well-being in overweight individuals.

NCT ID: NCT05750342 Completed - Obesity Clinical Trials

Clinical Trial to Analyze the Efficacy of a Supplement Extracted From Persimmon on Overweight / Obesity.

PERSOB
Start date: February 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Randomized, controlled, double-blind clinical trial, with two parallel branches depending on the product consumed (experimental product and placebo product) and single-center, to measure the efficacy of a supplement extracted from Persimmon on overweight and obesity grade I in subjects with BMI over 25.

NCT ID: NCT05745701 Completed - Healthy Clinical Trials

A Drug-Drug Interaction Study to Examine the Impact of Itraconazole and Cyclosporine on PF-07081532 Pharmacokinetics in Overweight or Obese Adults

Start date: February 22, 2023
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This is a Phase 1, open-label, fixed-sequence, 3-period study to evaluate the effect of multiple doses of itraconazole and a single dose of cyclosporine on the single-dose PK of PF-07081532 in otherwise healthy, overweight or obese, adult female and male participants. The 3 study periods will be conducted consecutively without a break.

NCT ID: NCT05715242 Completed - Obesity Clinical Trials

Ignite Pilot: Goal Setting in a Digital Weight Loss Intervention

Start date: December 5, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this pilot trial is to learn about the optimal intensity level of goals in a digital weight loss intervention among adults with overweight or obesity. The main questions of the study are to assess the feasibility and acceptability of different goal intensities across four domains (calorie goal, step goal, eating window goal, red zone food goal). The investigators will recruit 32 total participants to the trial. Recruitment will occur through remote channels. Interested individuals will be directed to an online screening questionnaire; those who are eligible will then be invited to attend an initial remote session with study personnel to ensure interest and eligibility in the study. The weight loss intervention will last 10 weeks, and all participants will receive a "core" treatment consisting of self-monitoring weight, food intake, and steps (all via digital tools provided by the study team), along with behavioral lessons, action plans, and tailored feedback. Depending on which group participants are assigned to in the study, individuals will receive either a more or less challenging goal across the four domains. All study tasks will occur remotely, thus, participants will never come in-person for any tasks. Assessment of body weight and other measures will occur at the beginning of the trial ("baseline"), and at 4 weeks and 10 weeks. The investigators will use the Multiphase Optimization Strategy (MOST) framework to identify which of the goal intensity levels result in meaningful engagement and weight loss. The current study is the first step towards answering this question; it is designed as a pilot factorial trial, which focuses on feasibility and acceptability. In total, there will be 16 treatment conditions.

NCT ID: NCT05713461 Completed - Obesity Clinical Trials

Physical Exercise in Obesity for Health and Quality of Life.

OBEFYSA
Start date: October 26, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This project aims to develop an intervention on healthy habits based on physical exercise and nutritional education in people with obesity. It is accepted that exercise and nutrition are keys to controlling body weight. People with obesity frequently present with metabolic syndrome and a low-grade inflammatory state. It is not known what should be the most effective training load/dose (duration, intensity, type of exercise) to improve health indicators related to metabolic syndrome and lipo-inflammation, and body composition in people with obesity. A large-scale randomized controlled trial (RCT) will be essential to better understand the type and characteristics of training load/dose most effective in counteracting the detrimental effects of obesity. The aim of this trial in 50 obese women was to answer the following questions: - Does the training program improve physical fitness? - Does the training program improve body composition? - Does the training program improve the state of chronic low-grade inflammation? - Does the training program improve the quality of life and perceived health? - Do people with obesity and metabolic syndrome respond in the same way to training? - what is the effect of four weeks of detraining?
