NCT ID: NCT04589858 Completed - Knee Osteoarthritis Clinical Trials

Effect of Manual Therapies With Supervised Exercise Protocol on Pain and Functional Disability in Patients With Knee OA

Start date: September 24, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Osteoarthritis (OA) is referred to a group of conditions that involve mostly the larger weight-bearing joints such as the hip, knee, and ankle. It is the result of an intricate, multifaceted, progressive softening and break-down of articular cartilage along with capsular fibrosis and re-growth of new cartilages and bones called osteophytes at the margin of the articular surfaces to increase the surface area of them. The current study aimed to find out the efficacy of specified manual therapies in combination with a supervised exercise protocol on managing pain intensity and functional disability in patients with knee osteoarthritis.

NCT ID: NCT04588558 Completed - Pain, Chronic Clinical Trials

Investigation of the Effectiveness of a Structured Squat-based Program in Knee Osteoarthritis Rehabilitation

Start date: September 15, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The main purpose of the study is to examine the effect of squat-based exercise approach in individuals with knee osteoarthritis. The aim of this study is to compare effect to three groups (flywheel exercise group, electrotherapy modality group and home exercise group) and also decrease the pain, increase muscle strength, activation values and increase the functional level of individuals. Osteoarthritis is the most common rheumatological disease in the world that primarily results in progressive cartilage destruction. Changes occurring as a result of osteoarthritis are the main cause of disability and are most common in the knee joint. Osteoarthritis; problems such as pain, tenderness, joint stiffness, joint swelling, movement restriction, joint deformities, loss of muscle strength, decreased functional capacity and impaired quality of life are observed. The daily life activities of individuals with knee osteoarthritis are restricted by the problems of walking up and down stairs, getting out of the chair, standing, squatting, walking. Improving the symptoms of the disease is an important goal of the rehabilitation process of patients with knee osteoarthritis. In individuals with knee osteoarthritis, joint structure and deformation in cartilage also show loss of strength with muscles. Strengthening exercises have been used in patients with knee osteoarthritis for a long time. Squat exercise is a type of exercise that is widely used as a strengthening exercise.

NCT ID: NCT04587232 Completed - Knee Osteoarthritis Clinical Trials

Turkish Version of Mini Osteoarthritis Knee and Hip Quality of Life Questionnaire

Mini-OAKHQoL
Start date: October 14, 2017

In this paper, the adaptation of the Mini-OAKHQoL questionnaire in the Turkish population analyzing the feasibility, reliability, and validity of the questionnaire was documented.

NCT ID: NCT04585373 Completed - Knee Osteoarthritis Clinical Trials

Effects of Kinesio-taping in Knee Osteoarthritis Patients.

Start date: December 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The main reason to conduct this research is to find the comparison of kinseotaping according to time duration that is 24 hours, 48 hours and 72 hours in knee osteoarthritis patients. We can find the impact of kinseo-taping on pain, balance and functional status of patients.

NCT ID: NCT04577521 Completed - Gonarthrosis Clinical Trials

The Safety and Efficacy of Single IA-HA Injection in Patients With Knee Osteoarthritis: A Prospective Study

Start date: March 4, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This prospective study was planned to carried out among the patients with grade II and III (Kellgren Lawrence classification) osteoarthritis of the knee attending outpatients clinic to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of viscosupplementation with intra-articular hyaluronic acid injection.

NCT ID: NCT04574700 Completed - Knee Osteoarthritis Clinical Trials

Mobilization Effect on Hamstring Length

Start date: January 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this research is to determine the effect of knee joint mobilization in patients with knee osteoarthritis having hamstring tightness. Tibiofemoral and tibiofibular joint mobilization and knee traction effect on hamstring muscle length and pain. A randomized controlled trial will be done at Benazir Bhutto Hospital Rawalpindi. The sample size is 44. The Participants are divided into two groups, 22 participants in experimental group and 22 in control group. The study duration is 6 months. Sampling technique applied is purposive non probability sampling technique, patients having Minimum 20% hamstring length shorting, NPRS more than 3,both gender of age 40-65,Pain more than 3 months and with mild to moderate knee OA are included. Tools used in this study are Numerical pain rating scale (NPRS), Goniometer and Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Arthritis Index (WOMAC) scale. Data analyzed through Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS)version 23.

Prolotherapy Intervention Effect in Patient With Knee Osteoarthritis

Start date: September 1, 2019
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Introduction : Prolotherapy is regenerative tissue therapy which is considered to be efficacious in reducing symptoms and morbidity of Knee Osteoarthritis (KOA), but only a few studies demonstrate the effect of prolotherapy at the biomolecular level, particularly the level of Cartilage Oligomeric Matrix Protein (COMP), and Urinary C-Terminal Telopeptides of Type II Collagen (uCTX-II) as the biomarkers of cartilage repair. Objective: To determine the effect of prolotherapy on COMP and uCTX-II levels, and functional outcomes in KOA patients. Method: a double-blind randomized controlled trial study involving 36 participants who had been diagnosed with KOA. History taking, functional outcome assessment, COMP, and uCTX-II were measured. The prolotherapy via intraarticular and extraarticular was performed at Day-1, Day-29, and Day-57 followed by the evaluation of functional outcome, COMP, and uCTX-II at day 78 Alternative Hypothesis : Prolotherapy provides improvement of cartilage based on COMP and UCTX-II levels and functional outcome among KOA patients
