Chronic bladder retention is defined by ICS as a painless condition that can be felt when the bladder is palpated manually after urinating, with at least 150 ml of urine in the bladder content. aim:The aim of this study is to determine the Effect of Postoperative Local Dry Hot Application and Half Shower Application on the Development of Bladder Retention and Pain in Patients undergoing Spinal Anesthesia.

NCT ID: NCT05571098 Completed - Colorectal Cancer Clinical Trials

The Effects of Nurse Navigation Program on Symptom Management and Psychosocial Adjustment in Colorectal Cancer Patients

Start date: July 8, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study was conducted to examine the effect of the nurse navigation program (NNP) applied to patients with colorectal cancer on symptom management and psychosocial adjustment to the disease. The design type was determined as a randomized controlled experimental study with a pretest-posttest control group, with repeated measurements. For this purpose, individuals were divided into two groups as experimental (n=31) and control (n=31) groups. The study was carried out in Istanbul Lütfi Kırdar City Hospital Oncology Clinic between July 2021 and February 2022, after the necessary permissions were obtained. While individualized colorectal cancer education, psycho-oncological counseling and telephone support services were provided to the individuals in the experimental group under the guidance of nurse within the scope of NNP, no intervention was applied to the control group. In the study, data were collected with three different data collection tools: "Information Form", "Nightingale Symptom Assessment Scale (N-SAS)", "Psychosocial Adjustment To Illness Scale (PAIS/PAIS-SR)". Data were collected before NNP (once in the first week after chemotherapy), during NNP (once in the second week after chemotherapy, once in the first week after the next chemotherapy), after NNP (once in the second week after the next chemotherapy). The duration of the interventions performed via the WhatsApp application varied between 45-60 minutes between individuals. The research was completed with a total of 60 individuals, 30 in the experimental group and 30 in the control group. The data obtained in the study were analyzed using the SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) for Windows 22.0 program.

NCT ID: NCT05506436 Completed - Healthy Lifestyle Clinical Trials

E-VIDAPP
Start date: April 1, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The translation of beneficial interventions for the population into professional practice represents a constant challenge. Moreover, implementation of this evidence into clinical practice has been limited to date. Therefore, the aim of this pilot study is to identify the critical factors and barriers that may influence the implementation of a digital intervention for the promotion of exercise and a healthy diet in primary care and its implementation through a pilot study with a strategy agreed with nursing professionals in a health centre.

NCT ID: NCT05481541 Completed - Quality of Life Clinical Trials

The Effect of E-Mobile and Written Education

Start date: May 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Bening's Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH), which is closely related to aging, is one of the most common diseases in the world. Although it is not a life-threatening condition, lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) are seen in many patients, which disrupts their daily activities, sleep patterns, and quality of life of the patients. Examination of changes in sleep and quality of life after transurethral resection of the prostate (TUR-P) in patients with LUTS due to BPH and planning training according to their needs will positively affect the lives of these patients. It is very important for nurses to provide individual training and counseling by making use of innovative technology to ensure that patients manage the surgical process in a healthy way and cope with possible complications. This thesis study was planned as a three-group randomized controlled experimental study in order to determine the effect of e-mobile training and counseling on quality of life and sleep in patients who underwent TUR-P to manage the operative process and cope with possible complications.

NCT ID: NCT05377697 Completed - Nursing Clinical Trials

The Effect of Lavender Scent on Sleep

Start date: April 23, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

With aging, deterioration in sleep structure and balance occurs. In particular, individuals over the age of 65 often have sleep problems, and non-pharmacological methods used to solve this problem are much more reliable than pharmacological methods. It is important for nurses who contribute most to their care to regulate and facilitate sleep, which is one of the basic needs of people. Thanks to this study, it is planned to solve the sleep-related problems of elderly individuals by using the sedative and relaxing effect of the lavender plant, which is used in many areas, thus increasing their quality of life, and it is planned to prevent falls by increasing their physical balance controls. This study aims to determine the effect of lavender scent recommended for the elderly in Konya on sleep quality and physical balance. This research is a randomized experimental design with pretest-posttest control group. The research is planned to be carried out between January 2023 and November 2023. The population of the research consists of elderly individuals living in society. In order to determine the sample size, power analysis will be made using the G-Power (v3.1.9.2) program. Personal Information Form and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index will be used in data collection. The data obtained as a result of the research; It will be analyzed with IBM SPSS program. p<0.05 will be considered statistically significant.

NCT ID: NCT05335759 Completed - Education Clinical Trials

Coaching Programme for Preceptorship of Undergraduate Nurses' Students

Start date: September 1, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Background: During the curricular practices of the Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, students are prepared to carry out an adequate transition process to the professional role. The success of this preparation depends, to a large extent, on preceptorship. In this sense, it is important that practice tutors are motivated and feel competent to teach in the clinical setting. Despite this, no studies have been found that implement and evaluate an intervention to improve nurses' perceptions of preceptorship of undergraduate nursing students. Purpose: To evaluate the preliminary efficacy of a coaching programme to improve nurses' perceptions of preceptorship of undergraduate nursing students. Specifically, the aim is to determine the impact of the programme on nurses' perceived involvement, motivation, satisfaction, barriers and commitment to clinical mentoring. Method: An exploratory pre-post quasi-experimental pilot study. Fifteen nurses, the total population of nurses working in the medical-surgical ward, with at least 1 year of experience in the preceptorship of students, will be recruited in June 2022. All the nurses will receive an intervention based on coaching. The strategies of this program consisted of five 6-hour sessions using case studies and role-playing simulations to work on their motivation to develop their teaching role in the preceptorship of undergraduate nursing students and debriefing and a 4-hour booster session seven months later. The IMSOC (involvement, motivation, satisfaction, obstacles and commitment) instrument was used to assess outcomes. The primary outcome was the difference in the median of nurses' involvement, motivation, satisfaction, barriers and commitment in preceptorship students pre and post-intervention (between T0-T1 and T0-T2). Changes within nurses were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test for related samples.
