NCT ID: NCT03815149 Recruiting - Stroke, Acute Clinical Trials

Safety and Clinical Effectiveness of Pipeline™ Shield Devices for Intracranial Aneurysms

SCOPE-AUS
Start date: May 30, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This observational, retrospective, single-arm, multi-centre cohort study will use real-world data (RWD) to develop real-world evidence (RWE) of the safety and clinical effectiveness of the Pipeline™ Flex Embolization Device with Shield Technology™ in Australian patients that have received a flow diversion device to treat an intracranial aneurysm (IA). The medical records from 500 procedures completed at Gold Coast University Hospital in Queensland (QLD), Prince of Wales Hospital in New South Wales (NSW), and Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital in Western Australia (WA), will be analysed. The study will report the risk and likelihood of stroke (ischaemic and haemorrhagic), delayed neurological adverse events and incomplete aneurysm occlusion within sub-groups of the patient cohort and determine the predictive or confounding factors that influence clinical outcomes under pragmatic or 'real-world' conditions.

NCT ID: NCT03781700 Recruiting - Bell Palsy Clinical Trials

Evaluation of Cortisone Treatment in Children With Acute Facial Nerve Palsy

FACE
Start date: May 3, 2019
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Acute facial nerve palsy occur in 10-20/100 000 children/year in Sweden. About 20 % of these children will have persistent symptoms with excessive tear secretion, drooling and social problems due to asymmetry in the face. Studies on cortisone treatment to adult patients with acute facial nerve palsy have shown beneficial effects, but no studies with strong quality have been performed in children. Investigators will perform a double-blind randomized placebo-controlled multicenter trial on children with acute facial nerve palsy. Participants will be recruited consecutively at 9-12 study centers in Sweden during 2019-2020. Oral cortisone (prednisolone) 1 mg/kg x 1 in 10 days (or placebo) will be started on admission. Clinical data, including recovery will be followed-up until 12 months. The primary outcome is defined as total recovery of the facial nerve palsy, measured with the House-Brackmann scale (grade 1) at 12-months follow-up. The overall purpose is to assess the utility of cortisone treatment given to children with acute facial nerve palsy in this study. If the total recovery rate is significantly improved in the prednisolone group as compared to the placebo group, prednisolone treatment will be introduced in clinical practice for children with acute facial nerve palsy in order to reduce the risk of persistent symptoms.

NCT ID: NCT03777267 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Neurological Diseases or Conditions

Cereset Research Exploratory Study

Start date: April 12, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the use of Cereset Research to improve autonomic function in participants with symptoms of stress, anxiety, or insomnia.

NCT ID: NCT03727529 Recruiting - Parkinson Disease Clinical Trials

Immersive Virtual Reality to Improve Gait in Parkinson's Disease

NMSK-LH02
Start date: January 30, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Parkinson's Disease (PD) patients suffer from gait impairments responsible for falls and bad quality of life: reduced speed and stride length, randomness in stride duration variability (reduced Long-Range Autocorrelations (LRA)). On the other hand, treadmill walking has shown long-term effectiveness on PD patients' gait and quality of life. The purpose of this single blinded randomized controlled trial is to study the effect of a combination of immersive virtual reality and treadmill walking on LRA.

NCT ID: NCT03699514 Recruiting - Healthy Clinical Trials

Post Hoc Analysis and Clinical Data Collection for Subjects Tested With Brain Network Activation (BNA™) Technology

Start date: May 1, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The study is designed to collect data that will aid in future scientific and engineering exploration of correlations between clinical assessments and BNA scores. The results are primarily intended for scientific inquiry and engineering development purposes, and may be used in future regulatory submissions.

NCT ID: NCT03678194 Recruiting - Depression Clinical Trials

Treating Depression on a Day-to-day Basis: Development of a Tool for Physicians Based on a Smartphone Application

SMART
Start date: October 14, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Testing and validating an e-health (smartphone application) approach to better understand the determinants of day-to-day symptomatology in depression, medication adherence, and treatment efficacy in the goal of maximizing patient care.

NCT ID: NCT03659760 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Cranial Nerve Diseases

: Association of Melatonin Levels and Light and Noise Isolation in ICU

Start date: September 3, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Melatonin is secreted from the epiphyseal gland with a circadian rhythm and is known to be anti-inflammatory. In this study, it is planned to investigate the effect of sleep disruptions on melatonin levels and inflammation parameters in intensive care patients underwent transcranial surgery

NCT ID: NCT03651609 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Peripheral Nervous System Diseases

Treatment for Ulnar Neuropathy at the Elbow

UNETREAT
Start date: January 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to investigate utility and appropriateness of treatment interventions taking into account the presumed mechanisms of two main varieties of ulnar neuropathy at the elbow (UNE). The investigators hypothesize that in patients with UNE under the humeroulnar aponeurosis (HUA) surgical HUA release (simple decompression) is superior to conservative treatment. By contrast, in patients with UNE at the retroepicondylar (RTC) groove surgical HUA release (simple decompression) should not be superior to conservative treatment.

NCT ID: NCT03546244 Recruiting - Parkinson Disease Clinical Trials

Evaluation of Efficacy of Musical Treadmill in PD Rehabilitation

EMTPDR
Start date: January 3, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In order to evaluate the effectiveness of musical treadimll on gait parameters in patients with Parkinson's Disease, the investigators compare the outcome measures on two group of patients: one will undergo a 4-week daily musical treadmill training and one will undergo a 4-week daily traditional treadmill training
