NCT ID: NCT04370808 Completed - COVID-19 Clinical Trials

VITACOV: Vitamin D Polymorphisms and Severity of COVID-19 Infection

VITACOV
Start date: August 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to hypertension, autoimmune, infectious and cardiovascular diseases which are risk factors for COVID-19. Moreover, COVID-19 patients have a very high prevalence of hypovitaminosis D (Turin data). Taken together, we aim to investigate whether genetic variants in vitamin D-related genes contribute to a poor COVID-19 outcome, particularly in hypertension and CV patients, proposing thus a personalized therapeutics based on vitamin D supplementation in order to reduce the severity and deaths.

NCT ID: NCT04370015 Not yet recruiting - SARS-CoV-2 Clinical Trials

Hydroxychloroquine Chemoprophylaxis for COVID-19 Infection in High-risk Healthcare Workers.

Start date: May 15, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Healthcare personnel are at an increased risk of exposure to SARS-CoV-2 infection while handling such patients. Currently, there is no treatment available for SARS-CoV-2 and stringent preventive measures are advised to avoid or minimize risk of exposure to healthcare workers. There are in vitro studies available which show inhibition of corona virus by hydroxychloroquine, a widely-used agent against malaria and certain autoimmune conditions and of low-cost and limited toxicity. However, evidence regarding its effects in patients is limited. We plan to conduct a randomized controlled trial to evaluate the safety and potential prophylactic efficacy of hydroxychloroquine in preventing secondary SARS-CoV-2 infection among healthcare workers at high-risk of exposure while managing such patients.

NCT ID: NCT04367402 Recruiting - COVID-19 Clinical Trials

COST (COvid STudio) ACTION: Study for the Evaluation of Specific Antibodies Anti Covid-19 Linked to Covid-19 Infection, Symptoms and Genetic Expression of ACE2 Polymorphisms in Patients (COST ACTION)

COST ACTION
Start date: March 30, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The aims of this study is to define the genetic bases of COVID-19 related disease heterogeneity in frail population, to carry out a retrospective study on individuals w/wo symptoms to verify the reliability of a prognostic/diagnostic test based on IgM/IgG analysis and on the presence of genetic profiling and to explore the therapeutic potential of the modulation of ACE2 expression.

NCT ID: NCT04367350 Recruiting - COVID Clinical Trials

Prospective Registry of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) Patients With Neuromuscular Involvement

Start date: March 20, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Prospective registry for multimodal assessment of neuromuscular pathology associated with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection, enrolling consecutive patients with corona virus disease 2019 (Covid-19), who are admitted to the intensive care unit of the department of anesthesiology and intensive care medicine, or the department of neurology at Tübingen University Hospital.

NCT ID: NCT04367272 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Osteoarthritis, Knee

Is Second Knee at Risk During Simultaneous Bilateral Total Knee Arthroplasty.

Start date: May 15, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The effects of single-team simultaneous bilateral total knee arthroplasty on peri- and postoperative complications are clear. The investigators hypothesized that second knee at risk during single-team simultaneous bilateral total knee arthroplasty and have more early postoperative complication rates than the first knee. Therefore, this prospective study compared minor and major local complications for 90 days postoperatively between the first and second during knee single-team simultaneous bilateral total knee arthroplasty.

NCT ID: NCT04366492 Completed - HIV Infections Clinical Trials

HBV/HCV/HIV in Belgian Prisons

Start date: April 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

To assess the prevalence of blood-borne viral infections in prisons in Belgium, screening will be executed in several prisons in Flanders, Brussels and Wallonia to obtain a geographical representative distribution. Upon informed consent screening will be performed using whole capillary blood (finger prick testing) with three different tests for HCV Ab, HBsAg and HIV. Screening will be performed first. While awaiting the test result (15-20min), the participant can fill out a questionnaire (together with the study nurse), concerning risk factors for HCV, HBV and HIV infection. This questionnaire is filled out directly online, and will be immediately implemented in the encoded database. The database is set-up according to the rules of good clinical practice. (Castor EDC software). The results will be filled out immediately by the prison staff in this database after it is filled out by the participant, minimizing the risk of displacement of test results.

NCT ID: NCT04366154 Active, not recruiting - Cancer Clinical Trials

Impact of the COVID-19 Infectious Epidemic on the Management of Oncology and Onco-hematology Patients and on the Psychological Consequences for Patients and Caregivers

COVIPACT
Start date: April 15, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This original study will assess the impact of the coronavirus health crisis on the management of patients undergoing medical treatment for cancer, in particularly on the modification of the hospital organization. It will also provide a record of the progress of patients who will have been treated during the epidemic period and infected by the virus. We will also assess the psychological impact of the pandemic in patients but also in caregivers

NCT ID: NCT04365816 Completed - COVID-19 Clinical Trials

NutriCovid30 : Nutritional Evaluation for Covid-19 Infection at D30

Start date: April 30, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Describe the main clinical features impacting the food intake, and therefore the nutritional status of a population infected by a coronavirus.

NCT ID: NCT04365738 Completed - COVID-19 Clinical Trials

Pulmonary Rehabilitation in Post-Acute Period of COVID-19 Infection

Start date: March 11, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this study is to investigate the efficacy of pulmonary rehabilitation(PR) applied in the isolation processes of post-acute patients with mild and moderate symptoms who had positive COVID-19 test on dyspnea, muscle pain, chest expansion, lower limb muscle strength and dynamic balance, fatigue, anxiety and depression.
