Early-onset Preeclampsia (PE) is a pregnancy disorder which may present with adverse pregnancy outcomes. Nectin-4 is an adhesion molecule mainly expressed in placenta. This study aimed to evaluate the relationship between early onset Preeclampsia and serum Nectin 4 levels.
In light of the current coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, the investigators want to better study the immunological characteristics of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome-Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) infections in adults. The investigators invite volunteers to participate in a clinical study to better understand what happens after an infection with SARS-CoV2. By collecting and analysing blood samples of people that were infected, the investigators want to evaluate whether or not the participants had an adaptive immune response with the producting of immunoglobulin. The investigators will evaluate the quality of the antibodies and their neutralising capacity. In a selected patient group with strong antibody response, the investigators will try to reproduce them in the lab after the collection of a larger blood sample (max 72 mL) of, in case of insufficient B-cells, a leucapheresis (after consent of the patient). These antibodies can be used in clinical trials to evaluate whether the investigators can cure patients faster or prevent disease by the utilisation of these antibodies. Aside from the aforementioned information the investigators will also collect clinical data such as: demographic information, medical history, routine lab results, radiographic imaging and medication use. After the completion of the study, the samples will be stored for 30 years with consent of the participants.
Fluorescence is one of the most commonly used research and detection techniques in the field of biomedical science. The characteristics of fluorescent probe directly affect the performance and application of fluorescence analysis and imaging. Aggregation-Caused Quenching has limited the application of traditional fluorescent probes to some extent. This project intends to systematically evaluate the detection efficiency of new methods through the detection of biomarkers in clinical samples and the comparison with the detection methods of traditional biomarkers, so as to provide theoretical and experimental basis for the establishment of fast and simple biomarker detection technologies with new biological probes.
The primary goal of this study is to provide additional data regarding B and T-cell mediated responses to COVID-19 vaccines in MS patients treated with OCR and to determine which clinical and paraclinical variables correlating with vaccine immunogenicity. B-cell mediated humoral responses and adaptive T-cell mediated cellular responses were measured in patients treated with OCR who received any of the available SARS-CoV-2 vaccines, 3-4 weeks after completion of vaccination.
This project will adapt and pilot a feasible and effective problem-solving therapy designed for low-resource settings to address common mental disorders like depression and anxiety - the Friendship Bench- in a Vietnamese population of individuals living with HIV who also have opiate use disorder. The Friendship Bench approach has the potential to make an important contribution to address CMDs and reduce barriers to HIV treatment success among people living with HIV (PLWH) with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD), a critical population driving the HIV epidemic in Vietnam and many Southeast Asian countries. This proposal will generate critical evidence for designing a fully powered clinical trial to test the investigation team's adapted FB protocol in improving HIV, mental health, and drug use treatment outcomes for this vulnerable population.
Tonsillar tissue is a significant organ for the performing of immune systems in children. The Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER), is an organelle needed for the care of a stable function of the cells. The purpose of the study was to explore the correlation among ER stress and tonsillar tissue disorders and to explain the structure of diseases related to the immune system.
Pancreatitis is a common complication especially in patients with gallbladder stones, most patients with biliary pancreatitis may recover spontaneously without sequelae, but in 10-20% of patients, the disease is severe and mortality rates of up to 30% are detected in these patients. In the evaluation of acute biliary pancreatitis, many scoring systems have been established (Atlanta, Ranson, APACHE, BISAP etc.) from past to present to determine morbidity and mortality of the disease. In this study, the investigators aimed to evaluate the correlation between morbidity and mortality of acute biliary pancreatitis and lymphocyte subtypes with Flow-cytometry.
Single centre, open-label, single dose, parallel group study to investigate the PK, safety and tolerability of KY1005 after subcutaneous (s.c.) and intravenous (i.v.) administration, with i.v. KY1005 as a reference treatment.
New York City (NYC) has become the epicenter of the worldwide pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2). By collecting and summarizing the experience with other major health care providers in the tristate (New York (NY), New Jersey (NJ) and Connecticut (CT)) are, the investigators are uniquely positioned to inform the rest of the country about what to expect and how to manage children and young adults with hematological, oncological or stem cell transplant diagnoses during the pandemic.
