NCT ID: NCT04284709 Completed - Exercise Clinical Trials

Exergaming for Community-Dwelling Older Adults

Start date: November 14, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study aimed to utilize an interactive exergame mat system to develop a novel cognitive-physical training program and explore the training effects on physical performance, cognitive function, dual-task walking (DTW), and fall risk compared to the control condition.

NCT ID: NCT04268992 Completed - Clinical trials for Coronary Artery Disease

Effect of Long-term Exercise on Haemostasis and Inflammation in Patients With Coronary Artery Disease

Start date: July 3, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Introduction: Regular exercise training improves prognosis in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). This study investigates whether the beneficial effects of exercise can be partly explained by favourable changes in haemostasis and inflammation. Methods: 150 CAD patients are randomised to a supervised long-term exercise program (3 months) or usual care. Blood samples are obtained at baseline, 1.5 months, and 3 months after randomisation. Results: The investigators will evaluate platelet turnover and aggregation, coagulation, fibrinolysis, and inflammatory markers before and after short- and long-term exercise, and the two randomised groups will be compared. Perspectives: The present study will increase our knowledge of the beneficial mechanisms underlying the effect of exercise in CAD patients, potentially paving the way for improved exercise recommendations.

NCT ID: NCT04257591 Completed - Exercise Clinical Trials

Effects of Hamstrings Strengthening in Proffesional Athlets

Start date: December 2, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Athelts that meet the inclusion criteria will be randomized into two groups. The experimental group will receive an 8-week (3 days per week) specificl protocol based on hamstring strengthening (isometric, concentric and excentric exercises), and the control group will not receive any additional exercise. The aim of the study is to investigate the changes in hip and knee muscle strength, in the extensibility of cuadriceps, hamstrings and hip abductors, in the physical functions and in the final marks.

NCT ID: NCT04242381 Completed - Exercise Clinical Trials

Short Term Effect of Kinesiotaping In Patients With Shoulder Impingement Syndrome

Start date: January 1, 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

We aimed to investigate the effect of kinesiotaping on pain, functionality and ultrasound parameters in patients with shoulder impingement syndrome (SIS).

NCT ID: NCT04215497 Completed - Exercise Clinical Trials

Effect of PSSE on Spine Reposition Sensation in Scoliosis

PSSE
Start date: October 1, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The main aim of the investigator's study is to investigate the effect of Physiotherapeutic Scoliosis-Specific Exercises (PSSE) on spine joint reposition sense and also to investigate the effect of PSSE on vertebral rotation, pain, posture, body image and quality of life in Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS). Twenty-six patients with AIS will randomly allocated to two groups. 'Schroth' exercises will apply to the PSSE group for 8 weeks (16 sessions). The control group wiil teach basic elements. Patients' spinal pain (Visual Analogue Scale), posture parameters (PostureScreen Mobile, Posterior Trunk Asymmetry Index (POTSI) and Anterior Trunk Asymmetry Index (ATSI)), cosmetic perception (Walter Reed Visual Evaluation Scale (WRVAS)), joint reposition sensations (dual-inclinometer), quality of life (Pediatric Quality of Life Scale and SRS-22) will assess at the first session and at the end of 8 weeks.

NCT ID: NCT04213586 Completed - Exercise Clinical Trials

Effects of Whey Protein and Collagen Supplementation

Start date: September 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The present project aims to investigate the effects of high-quality protein (whey protein) vs. low-quality protein (collagen) on muscle mass and function (e.g., strength and power) during a 10-wk resistance training program in young adults. It will be tested the hypothesis that leucine-matched collagen should promote similar gains on muscle function and mass compared to whey protein supplementation.

NCT ID: NCT04213521 Completed - Exercise Clinical Trials

Visual Dependence and Multisensory Balance Exercise

Start date: March 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of multisensory balance training on the levels of visual dependence and sensory organization capacity in community-dwelling older adults. Participants in the experimental group received multisensory balance training while those in the control group received conventional balance training without sensory manipulation.

NCT ID: NCT04209647 Completed - Obesity Clinical Trials

A Comparison of Continuous Moderate Training and Reduced High Intensity Interval Training in Obese Young Adults

Start date: May 1, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Exercise is a key component of obesity management. Obese subjects cannot attend or sustain exercise program because of increased general fatigue, dyspnea and muscle fatigue. And they feel more exertion when comparing with normal weight subjects. Reduced-exertion high-intensity interval training (REHIT) is a alternative method to continuous exercise programs. The investigators aimed comparing metabolic effects of REHIT and continuous exercise in young adults, in this study.

NCT ID: NCT04207359 Completed - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Effects of Creatine Supplementation in Breast Cancer Survivors

Start date: September 30, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to test the hypothesis that creatine will accelerate adaptations associated with exercise in breast cancer survivors recently completing chemotherapy.

NCT ID: NCT04181944 Completed - Clinical trials for Cardiovascular Diseases

Qualitative Survey of Potential Exercise Activity in Adults With Sickle Cell Anemia (SCA)

SCA
Start date: June 14, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to assess the potential interventions of exercises in adults with sickle cell anemia (SCA) and cardiopulmonary disease; only including the more severe genotypes of sickle cell disease.
