Filter by:The Fluo-Pred-Iver clinical trial will test the efficacy of a combined regimen of Fluoxetine, Prednisolone and Ivermectin (Fluo-Pred-Iver), as treatment for ambulatory patients with mild COVID-19. The overarching idea of the work proposed herein is to investigate the use of Fluo-Pred-Iver to treat COVID-19, conducting a randomized controlled clinical trial to evaluate a new indication for these widely available drugs. It is estimated to include 954 participants.
Romiplostim for low platelets caused by lomustine chemotherapy in patients with first recurrence (growing back) of a brain tumor, glioblastoma that is MGMT methylated. Lomustine is an anticancer drug often used to treat glioblastoma that grows back after initial treatment. This anticancer drug can cause side effects. The most frequent and potentially serious side effect of all is lowering of the blood platelets. Low platelets can cause bleedings in the the stomach and intestines, the skin, the brain and other systems and tissues. Low platelets are also the main cause of delaying or prematurely (ending treatment before the planned end) stopping chemotherapy. There is no treatment for low platelets except platelet transfusions. Romiplostim is a drug that stimulates the production of platelets in the bone marrow. It is an approved drug in USA, Europe, Australia and Switzerland for a special type of blood disease in which the body breaks down its own blood platelets. The purpose of the study is to start the treatment with romiplostim once low platelets are diagnosed in order to restore the platelet count and to prevent the platelet count from dropping again during the lomustine treatment.
The aim is to investigate if soy isoflavones and lignans affect markers of disease progression and gene expression among breast cancer patients receiving neo-adjuvant treatment in a three arm, double-blinded, randomized placebo-controlled trial (RCT) comparing: soy isoflavone supplementation, lignan supplementation, and placebo.
To study qualitatively and quantitatively the Imaging Biomarkers (IBs) on Multi-modal Imaging with Novel technologies (MINT), in order to understand their role in prediction of the Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) progression in eyes with and without treatment. The understanding of IBs will allow early detection of AMD, prediction of its evolution, and guidance for the best options for stratified/individualized treatment of AMD.
This is a multi-center, randomized controlled, superiority, open label trial. The objective of this trial is to evaluate the efficacy of HCQ in patients with newly diagnosed COVID-19 who have mild to moderate disease or at risk for complications. We aim to demonstrate decrease in progression to severe pneumonia and hospital related complications among patients who are treated with HCQ compared to patients who are not.
Results of previous study showed high objective response but short-term activity of anti-angiogenesis tyrosine kinase inhibitors in advanced osteosarcoma. Given the recent success of immunotherapies, combinations of antiangiogenics with immune checkpoint blockers have become an attractive strategy. The investigators had completed an prospective phase 2 trial of the combination of apatinib and camrelizumab on advanced osteosarcoma and showed prolonged progression-free survival for this combination. Famitinib is a novel tyrosine kinase inhibitor targeting VEGFR-2, -3 and FGFR-1, -2, -3, -4 with high affinity, which showed broad antitumor activity against a variety of xenograft models. A Study to Compare the Efficacy and Safety of Levatinib with or without Ifosfamide and Etoposide in Children, Adolescents and Young Adults With Relapsed and Refractory Osteosarcoma showed promising median PFS of 11.3 months. Thus we also try to investigate the combination efficacy of TKIs with chemotherapy in advanced osteosarcoma. This study aims to investigate the recommended phase 2 dose for pediatric use of famitinib in combination with camrelizumab and trys to explore the efficacy and safety for single drug famitinib, famitinib and camrelizumab and famitinib and ifosfamide in patients with inoperable high-grade osteosarcoma progressing after chemotherapy.
This phase I/II trial studies the side effects and best dose of modified immune cells called CD19-CD22 chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells in treating patients with CD19 positive(+), CD22+ B-acute lymphoblastic leukemia, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, or non-Hodgkin's lymphoma that has come back (recurrent) or does not respond to treatment (refractory). T-cells are collected from the patient and genetic materials called "chimeric antigen receptors (CAR)" are transferred to the collected T-cells. The CAR T-cells are then infused back to the patient's body. Giving CD19- CD22 CAR T cells after chemotherapy may help to control the disease.
This is a phase 1/2 study of the combination of CPI-613 and hydroxychloroquine for the treatment of high risk myelodysplastic syndrome patients who have failed a hypomethylating agent.
The purpose of the study is to investigate whether the combination of obinutuzumab and ibrutinib (administered up to 840 mg per day) might be useful for the treatment of CLL or SLL that is not responding or no longer responding to treatment with ibrutinib alone. The study will evaluate whether this regimen can reduce the amount of cancerous cells in the body. Subjects will be treated with ibrutinib at a dose of up to 840 mg a day by mouth, as well as obinutuzumab infusions. Although both of these agents are approved by the FDA for the treatment of CLL or SLL, the combination and the dosing schedule of ibrutinib are considered experimental.
The purpose of this study is to first determine the highest dose of LDE225 combined wtih Docetaxel and Prednisone that can be given that does not cause unacceptable side effects when given to patients with castrate resistant prostate cancer who failed previous docetaxel therapy.
