NCT ID: NCT03722511 Completed - Diarrhea Clinical Trials

Evaluating an Amino Acid Based Medical Food w/ Diarrhea in Carcinoid Syndrome & Other NETs

Start date: December 6, 2018
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Primary Objective: To assess how an amino acid based medical food (Enterade®) helps maintain the intestine's ability to absorb and retain fluids, leading to a reduction in diarrhea due to Neuroendocrine Tumors (NET) and/or Carcinoid Syndrome. This improvement in the absorption will be assessed in part by evaluating changes in average daily stool frequency from baseline in patients receiving Enterade®. Each subject serves as his or her own control. Secondary Objectives: - To assess subject reported health-related quality of life in subjects before and after compound administration. - To characterize the side effect profile and tolerability of Enterade® as measured by the number of total 8-oz Enterade® bottles consumed throughout the trial, and average drinks per day. - To evaluate changes in serum electrolytes before and after administration of Eenterade®. - To assess intravenous fluid requirement and/or hospitalization for dehydration secondary to diarrhea between control observation period and active Enterade® period. - To evaluate difference in utilization of standard-of-care anti-diarrheal medications between control observation period and Enterade® period. - To compare subjective feeling of bloating and flatulence before and after administration of Enterade®. - To evaluate changes in patient weight before and after administration of Enterade®.

NCT ID: NCT03717298 Completed - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

Evaluation of Ocoxin-Viusid® in Advanced Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma

Start date: October 30, 2018
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The investigators hypothesized that with the administration of the nutritional supplement Ocoxin-Viusid® is expected to improve the quality of life and enhance tolerance to chemotherapy in at least 70% of patients diagnosed with advanced pancreatic adenocarcinoma, treated at the "Hermanos Ameijeiras" Surgical Clinical Hospital. Phase II clinical trial, open, multicenter, nonrandomized.

NCT ID: NCT03681600 Terminated - Surgery Clinical Trials

Observatory of the Quality of Surgical Procedures for Digestive Cancers

Obchir
Start date: January 1, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Surgery for digestive cancers is managed according to quality standards, validated by the scientific community. Despite the diffusion of these standards through the benchmarks of good practice, the results of the surgery remain disparate. In many countries, this "inequality of opportunity" has justified the establishment of quality assurance systems to measure the results of surgery for one or more localizations of digestive cancer. These surgical audit experiments have shown a positive, rapid and cost-effective impact on complication rates, recurrence rates and overall survival even in the absence of interventional measures. The data collected also helped to improve the management of subgroups of patients usually excluded from clinical trials. In Morocco, the National Cancer Prevention and Control Plan provides for the establishment of a quality assurance system with the introduction of a system for monitoring and evaluating the care of patients. This pilot project is part of this framework, for the group of patients who are candidates for surgery for digestive cancers.

NCT ID: NCT03674294 Completed - Clinical trials for Gastrointestinal Neoplasms

Aprepitant Triple Therapy for the Prevention of CINV in Nondrinking and Young Women Who Received Moderately Emetogenic Chemotherapy

CINV
Start date: August 4, 2015
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to study whether adding Aprepitant to Palonosetron and dexamethasone can further prevent the incidence and severity of nausea and vomiting caused by FOLFIRI or FOLFOX chemotherapy regimen among gastrointestinal malignancy patients with high risk factors of chemotherapy-associated adverse events.

NCT ID: NCT03621852 Recruiting - Lymph Node Disease Clinical Trials

Prospective Evaluation of the Diagnostic Efficacy of a EUS Guided FNB Needle (AQUIRE®)

Start date: July 1, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The present study investigates the efficacy of a new Endoultrasound guided fine needle biopsy (EUS-FNB) device (AquireTM Boston Scientific= AQUIRE®) for obtaining histological tissue cylinders in the diagnosis of solid pancreatic tumors, submucosal tumors of the upper gastrointestinal tract (esophagus, stomach, duodenum) and lymph node disease..

NCT ID: NCT03602677 Recruiting - Colorectal Cancer Clinical Trials

Indocyanine Green Fluorescence Imaging in Prevention of Colorectal Anastomotic Leakage

ICG-COLORAL
Start date: September 24, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a randomized, controlled, parallel, multicenter trial to determine the difference in post-operative anastomotic leakages in colorectal surgery, where anastomosis perfusion is evaluated using indocyanine green fluorescence imaging as an addition to standard surgical practice compared to surgical practice alone.

NCT ID: NCT03597581 Recruiting - Colorectal Cancer Clinical Trials

A Study of RGX-202-01 (Ompenaclid) as Combination Therapy in RAS Mutant Advanced Colorectal Cancer

Start date: June 5, 2018
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This is a Phase 1 study currently evaluating PO administered ompenaclid in combination with FOLFIRI and bevacizumab in patients with advanced (i.e., locally advanced and unresectable, or metastatic) previously treated colorectal adenocarcinoma. The single agent ompenaclid dose escalation stage and the ompenaclid in combination with FOLFIRI and bevacizumab dose escalation stage of the study has been completed; the expansion stage of ompenaclid in combination with FOLFIRI and bevacizumab is ongoing. In April-24 a protocol amendment added a new dose escalation and expansion stage which will evaluate ompenaclid in combination with FOLFOX and bevacizumab in patients with metastatic CRC. It is anticipated that a total of 30 patients will be enrolled in this new dose escalation and expansion stage of the study.

NCT ID: NCT03568019 Active, not recruiting - Cachexia; Cancer Clinical Trials

PET Avidity in Cachexia-Inducing Lung and Gastrointestinal Tumors

Start date: November 26, 2013
Phase:
Study type: Observational

PET has an established role in the initial staging of patients with newly diagnosed lung and gastrointestinal tumors.PET avidity is described with both maximum and mean standardized uptake values.Malignant cells have increased activity on PET, defined as the standardized uptake value (SUV), with increased uptake of FDG in tumor due to elevated levels of GLUT receptors, elevated intracellular levels of hexokinase and increased rates of glycolysis. However, there is a subset of patients with lung and gastrointestinal tumors that are not PET avid. These patients may present with clinically and systemically aggressive disease with a declining performance status and/or weight loss.

NCT ID: NCT03563352 Withdrawn - Cholangiocarcinoma Clinical Trials

Nutritional Preferences and Product Accessibility in Oral Nutritional Supplements in Participants With Breast, Colorectal, Upper Gastrointestinal, or Prostate Cancer

Start date: August 30, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This trial studies nutritional preferences and product accessibility in oral nutritional supplements in participants with breast, colorectal, upper gastrointestinal, or prostate cancer. Learning what participants like and dislike about their current or past used nutritional supplements may help doctor know how to improve them.
