Study of TG6002 (VV TK-RR-FCU1) in Combination With 5-FC in Patients With Advanced Gastro-intestinal Tumors.

This study will include two parts: - In the phase I part: safety will be assessed in consecutive cohorts of 3 to 6 patients at increasing doses of TG6002 in combination with oral flucytosine (5-FC) in patients with advanced gastro-intestinal (GI) tumors. - In the phase IIa part: evaluation of efficacy and further evaluation of safety of multiple administrations of TG6002 in combination with flucytosine (5-FC) in patients with colorectal cancer and liver metastases. In both parts, tumor response will be evaluated on local assessment using RECIST 1.1. All patients will be followed up until disease progression or death due to any cause or the date of data cut-off, whichever occurs first.

Surgery for digestive cancers is managed according to quality standards, validated by the scientific community. Despite the diffusion of these standards through the benchmarks of good practice, the results of the surgery remain disparate. In many countries, this "inequality of opportunity" has justified the establishment of quality assurance systems to measure the results of surgery for one or more localizations of digestive cancer. These surgical audit experiments have shown a positive, rapid and cost-effective impact on complication rates, recurrence rates and overall survival even in the absence of interventional measures. The data collected also helped to improve the management of subgroups of patients usually excluded from clinical trials. In Morocco, the National Cancer Prevention and Control Plan provides for the establishment of a quality assurance system with the introduction of a system for monitoring and evaluating the care of patients. This pilot project is part of this framework, for the group of patients who are candidates for surgery for digestive cancers.

The aim of this study is to test whether a short educational intervention about emotional skills can improve survivor cancer patient emotional skills and quality of life. Half of participants will follow the educational intervention about emotional skills, while the other half will practice relaxation followed by a non-directive talking group. The educational intervention should give better results on patient emotional skills and quality of life than the control group.

Skeletal Muscle Expression of Myostatin and Cancer of Digestive System Associated Cachexia

Cancer cachexia is responsible for the death of approximately 20% of patients. Myostatin is a master negative regulator of skeletal muscle mass. If the role of myostatin in cancer cachexia is now well established in murine models, no study has focused on muscle expression of Myostatin in relation to the degree of cachexia. the hypothesize is that muscle Myostatin a biological marker of cachexia in patients with cancer of digestive system. The main objective is to compare skeletal muscle Myostatin messenger RiboNucleic Acid (mRNA) level as a function of cachexia in cancer of digestive system patients. Myostatin messenger RiboNucleic Acid (mRNA) level will be determined in a muscle sample taken during the resection under general anaesthesia. Skeletal muscle index will be determined before surgery, 3 and 6 months after surgery. Muscle strength of the lower and upper limbs will be determined before resection, at 1 month, 3 months and 6 months postoperatively. Blood sampling will also be performed on these 4 occasions.

Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) and cancers that originate from the gastrointestinal tract can be resistant to standard chemotherapy and often metastasize to the liver. Lanreotide (Somatuline® Depot) Injection and Yttrium-90 microspheres (SIR-Spheres®) each have FDA approval to treat patients with metastatic NETs. The purpose of this study is to determine if treatment for patients with NETs can be optimized by combining these therapies.
