NCT ID: NCT05137795 Withdrawn - COVID Clinical Trials

Inhaled ZYESAMI (Aviptadil Acetate) for Treatment of Severe COVID-19

AVICOVID-3
Start date: December 15, 2021
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Brief Summary: SARS-CoV-2 virus infection is known to cause Lung Injury that begins as dyspnea and exercise intolerance, but may rapidly progress to Critical COVID-19 with Respiratory Failure and the need for noninvasive or mechanical ventilation. Mortality rates as high as 80% have been reported among those who require mechanical ventilation, despite best available intensive care. Patients with severe COVID-19 by FDA definition who have not developed respiratory failure be treated with nebulized ZYESAMI™ (aviptadil acetate, a synthetic version of Vasoactive Intestinal Polypeptide (VIP)) 100 μg 3x daily plus Standard of Care vs. placebo + Standard of Care using an FDA 501(k) cleared mesh nebulizer. The primary outcome will be progression in severity of COVID-19 (i.e. critical OR severe progressing to critical) over 28 days. Secondary outcomes will include blood oxygenation as measured by pulse oximetry, dyspnea, exercise tolerance, and levels of TNFα IL-6 and other cytokines.

NCT ID: NCT05133635 Withdrawn - Cytokine Storm Clinical Trials

High-Dose Corticosteroid or Tocilizumab for Clinical Worsening of COVID-19

Start date: February 1, 2021
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

COVID-19 pandemic has spread all over the world, and hospitalization of the patients with COVİD-19 Pneumonia has become a great burden to the Intensive Care Units. Unfortunately there is still no curative method for the disease yet. Intensive Care Units provide general care for the patients; including oxygen therapy, maintenance of the organ systems (e.g., cardiovascular, renal), nutrition, antibiotic therapy for secondary infections, and etc. One of the major problems in COVID-19 is macrophage activation syndrome, also known as cytokine storm. It stems from exaggerated inflammatory response, which causes increased cytokine release and results in clinical deterioration of the patients. Many drugs have been used to prevent this exaggerated inflammation, like corticosteroids, interleukin (IL) receptor blockers, plasma exchange, etc. In this study our aim is to investigate the effectiveness of high dose corticosteroid (methylprednisolone 250 mg for 3 days) and an IL-6 receptor antagonist (tocilizumab) in the treatment of the cytokine storm of the COVID-19 patients.

NCT ID: NCT05128656 Withdrawn - COVID-19 Clinical Trials

Immune Response of Asymptomatic EHPAD Employees Infected With COVID-19

SERASYMPTO
Start date: June 18, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The investigators performed in April 2020, a screening campaign of asymptomatic staff working in elderly nursing homes in Paris France (EHPAD), where the virus had been circulating actively in March and April 2020. Among 241 employees tested in four nursing homes, 32 (13.2%) were asymptomatic carriers of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-Cov-2). Few data are available concerning the humoral immune response of asymptomatic carriers, the elicitation and duration of neutralizing antibodies and the duration of protection. The purpose of the study is to determine whether these asymptomatic persons develop a humoral immune response, whether this immune response is durable and whether it is protective against the risk of reinfection

NCT ID: NCT05125562 Withdrawn - COVID-19 Clinical Trials

Extracellular Vesicles Infusion Treatment for Mild-to-Moderate COVID-19

Start date: December 7, 2022
Phase: Phase 2

Start date: December 15, 2021
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This phase III clinical trial is an endpoint-driven randomized, double-blind, parallel-controlled, multicenter clinical trial, and around 13,000 subjects aged 18 years and above who have previously received 1 dose of intramuscular Ad5-nCoV will be recruited. Volunteers should have been vaccinated with intramuscular Ad5-nCoV > 56 days prior to enrollment. All subjects will receive 1 dose of investigational vaccine or placebo through nebulized inhalation. The ratio of subjects in the vaccine group and placebo group is 1:1 and the efficacy and safety of the investigational vaccine will be followed up for 52 weeks after vaccination.
