The objective of HeartFlow's DECIDE Registry is to collect observational data about the management of patients before and after HeartFlow Artificial Intelligence-Quantitative Coronary Plaque Analysis (AI-QCPA).
This is a pilot and feasibility study for a mobile phone-delivered intervention for memory, called MEMI (memory ecological momentary intervention), that was designed to support adults with chronic traumatic brain injury with their memory. The goal of the study is to examine the feasibility and acceptability of MEMI and to assess preliminary efficacy as to whether technology-delivered spaced memory retrieval opportunities improve memory in people with and without a history of chronic traumatic brain injury.
Investigators will test the impact of the PEACE implementation toolkit and determine the level of implementation support needed to improve early intervention providers use of caregiver coaching with families of young children with autism who receive early intervention services. The study will also assess caregiver and child outcomes for families receiving caregiver coaching and the cost effectiveness of the PEACE implementation toolkit. The investigators will enroll 200 early intervention providers, and 400 parent-child dyads.
The agonist-antagonist myoneural interface (AMI) construct, known as the Ewing amputation at the trans-tibial level, has been shown to create a bi-directional neural communication platform as a means of controlling and interpreting proprioceptive feedback from a prosthetic joint. In AMI constructs, agonist-antagonist muscles are mechanically coupled within the residual limb, and volitional contraction of an agonist passively stretches that muscle's antagonist. The natural neural responses from muscle spindles within both muscles are then interpreted by the central nervous system as sensations of joint position and speed, associated with movement of the prosthesis. The aim of this research protocol is to evaluate the electromyographic and kinematic patterns of participants who have undergone unilateral lower extremity Ewing Amputation in order to determine how similar their residual limb data is when compared to their intact limb data. A secondary aim of this research may include comparison of the Ewing participant cohort's biomechanical patterns to a similar cohort of participants who have undergone standard amputation. The investigators hypothesize that the affected limb of patients with the Ewing procedure will demonstrate a pattern of electromyographic activation of their AMI constructs and kinematic data that recapitulates the pattern seen in their intact limb. The investigators secondarily hypothesize that the kinematic assessment of Ewing Amputation patients will demonstrate patterns that are significantly more physiologic than those witnessed in similar assessments of standard amputees.
The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and ease of use of a trocar placement access device (TPAD) to assist with obtaining peritoneal access with a Veress needle, and for placing a primary trocar, during laparoscopic surgery.
The goal of this observational study is to learn about the composition and function of the gut microbiome in adults with chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction. The main questions the study aims to answer are: 1. How does the gut microbiome and its interactions with the host change over time in adults with chronic heart failure? 2. How do these changes relate to heart failure disease severity and complications?
The goal of this study is to assess if excessive use of smartphone apps of social media can impact a person's mental health. The study is aimed at improving the usage of smartphones which might help improve the mental health of patients. The goal is not to discourage the use of smartphones but instead to utilize smartphones in a way that they do not impact lives.
The overall goal of this project is to design, implement, and revise the Core Competency Model for Corrections (CCM-C), an evidence-based Self-Directed Violence (SDV) prevention training program for correctional mental health providers in the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections (DAC). The proposed specific aims are: Aim 1: To create the CCM-C training program. Aim 2: To assess preliminary training effectiveness. Aim 3: To gather training program quality improvement feedback from corrections stakeholders.
The studied indication is degenerative conditions of the lumbar spine resulting in back pain with lower extremity symptoms and neurogenic claudication. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of instrumented posterior arthrodesis using the Spinal Simplicity Minuteman G5 MIS Fusion Plate and bone graft material in patients with degenerative conditions of the lumbar spine resulting in chronic low back pain with lower extremity symptoms and concurrent neurogenic claudication.
This is a randomized, split-face, subject-blinded, comparative study. Subjects will receive initial treatment with Defyne on one of the NLFs and with RHA3 on the other based on the pre-determined randomization. 4 weeks after the initial treatment, subjects will receive optional touch-up on one side or both sides at the Investigator's discretion for optimal correction. Subjects to return to the site at Month 3, 6, and 12 for follow-ups.
