NCT ID: NCT06032351 Not yet recruiting - Dementia Clinical Trials

Construction and Validation of Dementia Care Management Competency

Start date: September 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study will use the concept of competency-based education to develop an innovative integrated curriculum with EPAs to guide learning and assessment of competency performance to equip students with dementia care management competency and cultivate professionals to meet the social trends and practical needs.

NCT ID: NCT06030466 Not yet recruiting - Education, Medical Clinical Trials

Medical Students' Acceptance and Learning Efficacy With Physical and Virtual Standardized Patients

Start date: October 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study will focus on exploring the experiential differences between virtual standardized patients and physical standardized patients, gathering feedback through questionnaires and brief interviews. Standardized patients have been widely used in medical education and physician licensing exams in Taiwan for over 15 years. With the rise of technology-enhanced medical education, it is necessary to reexamine the professional attributes and identification of standardized patients and explore the implementation of virtual standardized patient systems. The research aims to reshape the professional identity of standardized patients, identify necessary attributes and competencies, and establish a virtual standardized patient system to assess medical students' acceptance and learning outcomes.

NCT ID: NCT06021223 Not yet recruiting - Healthy Adults Clinical Trials

The Effects of Chicken Extract on Mental Energy in Healthy Adults and the Underlying Mechanisms

Start date: August 22, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This exploratory trial investigates the effect of a chicken extract supplement on mental energy and its potential underlying mechanisms of action among healthy adults using a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial design. Mental energy is a multi-dimensional construct comprising transient feelings about fatigue, vigor and motivation and cognitive performance in terms of sustained attention and reaction time. A sub-study investigates the immediate biochemical changes after taking chicken extract.

NCT ID: NCT06015737 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus

A 2-stage, Phase III Study to Investigate the Efficacy and Safety of Anifrolumab in Adults With Chronic and/or Subacute Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus

LAVENDER
Start date: June 17, 2024
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of subcutaneous (SC) anifrolumab versus placebo in adult participants with cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE).

NCT ID: NCT06000904 Not yet recruiting - Stroke Clinical Trials

Strategy of Turning Performance in Individuals With Stroke

Start date: August 21, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a single-blind randomized controlled trial study. Thirty individuals with chronic stroke will be recruited and randomly assigned to the experimental and control groups. Subjects in the experimental group will receive exergame-based balance training, while subjects in the control group will receive upper limb and trunk training. Both groups will undergo a four-week intervention consisting of three sessions per week, each lasting 60 minutes.

NCT ID: NCT05977504 Not yet recruiting - Cancer Clinical Trials

The Effectiveness of "Multi-Psychological Empowerment" Courses

Start date: August 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In the first-year project of this study, oncology nurses have reported experiencing massive stress, insufficient communication ability, and the need for communication-related training. 70% of them had moderate or higher severity of workload, fatigue, and psychological distress (at the measure point) before being provided with Basic Remote Psychological Support Course (BRPSC). A month after BRPSC, some oncology nurses have indicated/affirmed the benefits of undergoing the comprehensive psycho oncology education training courses. Thus, the second- and third-year continuation projects are focused on the development and delivery of Multi-Psychological Empowerment Courses (MPEC) for oncology nurses

NCT ID: NCT05958355 Not yet recruiting - Parkinson Disease Clinical Trials

Effects of Functional Postural Control Training on Functional Performance in People With Parkinson's Disease With Freezing of Gait

Start date: August 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this single-blinded, randomized controlled study aims to establish the effects of functional postural control training on functional performance and FOG in PD individuals with FoG as compared with treadmill training.

NCT ID: NCT05945134 Not yet recruiting - Stroke Clinical Trials

Sit-to-stand Training With Interactive Feedback in Chronic Stroke

Start date: July 15, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The major problems of people with chronic stroke include muscle weakness, sensory alteration, and inter-muscular coordination impairment. Inter-muscular coordination impairment caused altered muscle contraction sequences and weight-bearing asymmetry during functional activities. Sit-to-stand (STS) training is often used to improve functional activities among post-stroke subjects. However, the improvement may come from compensatory movements. Using compensatory movement may cause muscle weakness in the affected side and increase fall risk. This study will develop a novel STS training system with interactive visual and audio feedback emphasizing weight transferring and weight bearing. The present study aims to investigate the effects of sit-to-stand training with interactive visual and audio feedback on muscle contraction sequences and weight bearing symmetry in individuals with chronic stroke.

NCT ID: NCT05931211 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Spinal Muscular Atrophy

Motor Function and Activity of Daily Life in Spinal Muscular Atrophy

Start date: June 30, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study will incorporate patients/ caregivers' perspectives to investigate the performance in daily activities of individuals with SMA and how it relates to their motor function abilities.

NCT ID: NCT05929781 Not yet recruiting - Parkinson's Disease Clinical Trials

Turning Pattern of Different Body Segments During Turns and Turning Performance

Start date: September 1, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This is a cross-sectional exploratory study. A total of 25 people with PD, 25 young healthy adults, and 25 middle to older adults will be recruited. Axial segment turning pattern and turning performance will be evaluated in two visits using the Vicon 3D motion analysis system, Gaitup, and 3D motion camera. The independent variables are the initiation timing of the head, upper trunk, pelvis, ankle, and foot when turning and the initiation sequence of turning (% turn). The dependent variables are turning performance, including turning velocity, turning steps, turning step length, turning step width), and stance phase (%).
