NCT ID: NCT05732181 Completed - Liver Cancer Clinical Trials

The Role of 5% Lidocaine Patches in the Pain Control of Hepatocellular Carcinoma Patients Receiving Radiofrequency Ablation

Start date: May 9, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Background: This study aims to test whether 5% lidocaine patches can reduce Radiofrequency ablation-induced pain. Methods: The study will enroll patients with hepatocellular carcinoma and schedule a radiofrequency ablation procedure. 200 patients will be invited to allocate randomly into study or control groups: pretreatment with a 5% lidocaine patch (LidotopⓇ) (Group A); pretreatment with a placebo patch (Group B); The skin patch is applied before Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) while admission, and is changed every day till discharge. Pain severity is evaluated by a visual analog scale using a 10-point scale recorded by a study nurse before RFA and after the procedure. The demographic data, hepatocellular carcinoma characteristics, analgesics usage, patient satisfaction with pain control, and visual analog scale will be compared between the two groups. Anticipated results: Pretreatment with 5% lidocaine patches is an effective and straight method of reducing Radiofrequency ablation-induced pain to reduce analgesics usage and improve patient satisfaction with pain control.

NCT ID: NCT05729672 Completed - Clinical trials for Nurse-Patient Relations

Developing and Testing a Small Private Online Course (SPOC) for Nurse-patient Communication About Sex.

Start date: October 31, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a three-year research project. The goal is to develop and test "The SPOC-based blended teaching and learning platform (Nightingale in Gen-sEx)" that integrates effective educational strategies and e-learning methods to meet the Taiwanese nurse's learning needs. This project is aimed at resolving sexual education learning problems in nursing continuing education due to the time constraints at clinical sites and the shortage of teaching staff. Nurse-patient communication attitudes and skills about sex will be enhanced.

NCT ID: NCT05727956 Completed - Surgery Clinical Trials

Salvage Surgeries for Splanchnic Artery Aneurysms After Failed Endovascular Therapies: Cases Series

Start date: August 9, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

A retrospective review was performed for consecutive patients (from 2019 to 2021) who underwent salvage surgeries following failed endovascular therapies for splanchnic artery aneurysms in a tertiary referral center. Salvage operations include total aneurysmectomy with vascular reconstruction and partial aneurysmectomy with directly closing bleeders from the intraluminal space of the aneurysms.

NCT ID: NCT05726565 Completed - Clinical trials for Cognitive Impairment

Impact of Cardiac Rehabilitation on Acute Heart Failure Patients With Cognitive Impairment

Start date: March 1, 2015
Phase:
Study type: Observational

In heart failure patients, neuropsychological disorders have been prospectively linked to frequent hospitalizations, recurrent cardiac events, and mortality. Cognitive dysfunction is also a frequent comorbidity in heart failure (HF) patients. The benefit of cardiac rehabilitation between patients with cognitive dysfunction and patients without cognitive dysfunction is unknown. Investigators hypothesize that patients with cognitive dysfunction benefit more from cardiac rehabilitation programs than patients without cognitive dysfunction.

NCT ID: NCT05724511 Completed - Clinical trials for Cardiovascular Diseases

The Effect of Probiotics on Depression Syndrome and Risk Factors of Cardiovascular Disease in Hemodialysis Patients

Start date: February 27, 2023
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

As the investigators know, only few researches focus on the effect of probiotics on depression in hemodialysis patients. Besides, probiotics also have benefit effect on dyslipidemia and hypertension in general population. Both of them are the risk factors of cardiovascular disease which is the major cause of death in hemodialysis patients. Therefore, this study looks for the effect of probiotics on depression syndrome and risk factors of cardiovascular disease in hemodialysis patients. This is a randomized controlled trial. All patients will be assigned at random to intervention group or control group. This study plans to recruit 70 hemodialysis patients and expects at least 30 patients in each group at the end of study period. The investigators provide probiotics (C. butyricum MIYAIRI 588) to intervention group and provide nothing to the control group. All patients need to maintain the lifestyle during study period. Genomic analysis of gut microbiota on patients' fecal samples will be used to evaluation their compliance.

NCT ID: NCT05723965 Completed - Clinical trials for Rectal Cancer Stage III

Using Artificial Intelligence to Predict Rectal Cancer Outcomes

Start date: October 1, 2010
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Investigator retrospective collect cases during 2010-2021 diagnosed as rectal adenocarcinoma with high quality CT images. Local advanced rectal cancer cases were labeled as "disease". Nor were defined " normal". Using artificial intelligence CNN on jupyter notebook with open phyton code to train and develop models capable to recognizing local advanced rectal cancer. Modify the phyton code for better predict rate and help physician to quickly evaluate disease severity for fresh rectal cancer cases.

NCT ID: NCT05721157 Completed - Osteoporosis Clinical Trials

Osteoporotic Precisely Screening Using Chest Radiograph and Artificial Neural Network (OPSCAN)

Start date: January 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Artificial Intelligence-assisted Diagnosis and Prognostication in Osteoporosis Using Chest X-ray

NCT ID: NCT05716698 Completed - Healthy Clinical Trials

Health Evaluation of Mushrooms withVitamin D2

Start date: April 15, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Although Taiwan has plenty of sunshine, the intake of vitamin D and the concentration of 25(OH)D in the blood are low. Ingestion of mushrooms and extracts rich in D2 can increase the nutritional source of vitamin D. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the intake of D2 mushrooms and extracts in humans to achieve the effective concentration of 25(OH)D in the serum and recommendations for health improvement.

NCT ID: NCT05709587 Completed - Stroke Clinical Trials

Impacts of Application of Virtual Reality on Gait and Balance for Stroke Patients

Start date: June 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn about effects of virtual reality combined with conventional therapy on the balance, gait, and quality of life in stroke patients in the subacute and chronic stages. The main questions it aims to answer are: • Virtual reality combined conventional therapy interventions can improve the gait, balance and functional status of stroke patients or not? Participants will asked to do about 3 tasks in virtual reality intervention - Walk in the flat ground - Cross the obstacle on the ground - Cross to moving obstacles
