A Study Using Subject-specific MRD to Adopt Treatment After HSCT for Subjects With MDS

The goal of this interventional study is to evaluate if pre-emptive intervention using Azacitidine and / or donor lymphocytes or tapering of immune suppression in measurable residual disease (MRD) positive subjects can prevent clinical relapse. Participants will undergo MRD surveillance and be subjected to intervention in case of MRD positivity. Results will be compared with NMDSG14B, part one, in which MRD was analyzed in included patients without recieving intervention.

Parental presence during induction for young infants is still debated. There is a paucity of information on the real-world interaction between parents, infant and the anesthesia team. Aim To investigate parents' anxiety, need of information and experiences during induction of their infant, as well as staff communication and experiences, using quantitative and qualitative methods. Methods Randomized controlled trial of parent´s experiences of participating in their infant´s anesthesia induction. Parents will be randomized to being present in the operating room until the infant is asleep due to anesthesia induction (intervention group), or leaving their child to the anesthesia team in the OR holding area (control group).

Walking and Thinking - Brain Activity During Complex Walking in People With Multiple Sclerosis

Every-day life means being part of a complex environment and performing complex tasks that usually involve a combination of motor and cognitive skills. However, the process of aging or the sequelae of neurological diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS) compromises motor-cognitive interaction necessary for an independent lifestyle. While motor-cognitive performance has been identified as an important goal for sustained health across different clinical populations, little is known about underlying brain function leading to these difficulties and how to best target these motor-cognitive difficulties in the context of rehabilitation and exercise interventions. The challenge of improving treatments of motor-cognitive difficulties (such as dual-tasking and navigation) is daunting, and an important step is arriving at a method that accurately portrays these impairments in an ecological valid state. The investigators aim therefore to explore brain function during complex walking in MS (in comparison with people with Parkinson's disease and healthy controls) by investigating the effects of neurological disease on motor-cognitive performance and its neural correlates during three conditions of complex walking (dual-task walking, navigation and a combination of both) using non-invasive measures of brain activity (functional near infrared spectrometry, fNIRS) and advanced gait analysis in real time in people with MS (in comparison with people with Parkinson's disease and healthy adults).

Web-based Support for Family Caregivers of Patients With Advanced Cancer

For family caregivers of patients with advanced cancer, preparedness for caregiving is crucial for maintaining health and quality of life both during care and after the death of the patient. This project contributes to earlier research funded by the Swedish Cancer Society, about an intervention that was delivered by a multi-professional team and proved to be successful in promoting preparedness. However, such interventions are often costly and logistically challenging. In addition, the Covid-19 pandemic has further significantly raised the need for digital alternatives in healthcare. As a possible solution, an evidence-based intervention, narstaende.se, has been developed consisting of recorded videos of conversations between clinicians and family caregivers (actors), linked to informational texts and a moderated chat forum. The intervention was pilot tested during 2020 and 2021, exploring feasibility, content and family caregivers' experiences. As preliminary results are promising, the intervention is taken one step further and tested as a web-based intervention in a larger scale.

The goal of this clinical trial is to test a single session treatment program in primary care patients with anxiety and/or depression and/or stress-related issues. The main questions it aims to answer is: - Will the transdiagnostic treatment program decrease symptoms of depression/anxiety/stress? - Will the transdiagnostic treatment program decrease transdiagnostic risk factors? - Will the transdiagnostic treatment program decrease the measured risk factors equally? - Will the transdiagnostic treatment program impact patients with anxiety, depression or stress disorders equally? - Will the transdiagnostic treatment program have long term (6 months post-treatment) effect on transdiagnostic risk factors? - Will the transdiagnostic treatment program have long term (6 months post-treatment) effect on anxiety, depression, or stress-symptoms? - Have the participants been able to generalize the skills taught in the program(qualitative)? - Within group that were treated with single-session treatment and recieved additional care before follow-up, was there a difference in outcome?

Correct Medication List at and After Hospital Discharge

Medication treatment is not always optimal, and care transitions are problematic with errors and clinical consequences. The primary aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of an intervention to reduce errors, in the patient medication list when discharged from hospital to home. It will be secured that patients have the correct medications available for use after discharge and, that the information about current medications is correct in the Electronic Health Register and the pharmacy dispensing system. 100 patients 60 years and older, handling their own medications, and prescribed at least five continuous medications, Swedish or Arabic speaking, will be recruited from a hospital in Malmö before discharge. Discrepancies between the accurate medication list and patients' actual use will be followed up three weeks after discharge.

Chronic Coronary Syndrome in Swedish Primary Care

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn about a new procedure for investigation of possible coronary heart disease and to see if it is faster, cheaper or more expensive, promotes healthier behavior, mental well-being, adherence to drugs for heart protection and the risk for cardiac events like acute myocardial infarction over years to come. The novelty in the procedure is that a myocardial perfusion scan to assess blood flow to areas of the heart muscle, echocardiography i.e., heart ultrasound and heart CT scan comes as a "package investigation" performed on the same day. According to existing routines, "standard investigation" an exercise stress bicycle test is done, as well as an echocardiography and if needed the work up is completed by a myocardial perfusion scan. The main questions the trial aims to answer are: - are the results from the procedure given to the patient faster with package investigation as compared to standard investigation? - does the cost differ between the package and standard investigation group? - does self-reported physical activity, physical fitness, dietary habits and mental well-being differ between the package and standard investigation group at start and after one, three and five years? - does prescription of drugs taken for heart protection and adherence to the prescribed drugs differ between the package and standard investigation group after two and five years? - does the risk for heart events like acute heart infarction differ between package and standard investigation after two and five years? Primary health care centers in Region Östergötland are randomly assigned to use either the new or existing procedure for investigation of possible coronary heart disease a so called cluster randomization. Patients who consult a physician at any of these primary health care centers are potential participants in the trial and are informed about the trial by written information, as they get their appointment for the medical investigation at either of two hospitals in the Region Östergötland. When the patient comes to the hospital for the investigations, he or she is asked to give written consent to the research i.e., to answer questionnaires now after one, three and five years, to let the researchers take part of the medical records, investigational results and data from medical registries over time.

Added Diagnostic Value of Point of Care Ultrasound in Acute Dyspnea

Dyspnea is a common diagnostic challenge in the Emergency Department (ED). Delay in diagnosis will increase time to correct treatment and could impact outcome. Previous studies have shown excellent diagnostic performance of point of care ultrasound (POCUS) to detect and differentiate between several important diagnosis (e.g heart failure and pneumonia) in patients with dyspnea. However, in most studies POCUS is performed by physicians highly experienced in ultrasound and often studies have focused only on one or few diagnoses. The aim of this study is to compare the diagnostic accuracy of different diagnosis in dyspnoeic patients before and after a ED physician with limited training applies POCUS.
