There are about 1254 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Peru. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This study will evaluate the efficacy, safety, and pharmacokinetics of astegolimab in combination with standard of care chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) maintenance therapy in patients with COPD who are former or current smokers and have a history of frequent exacerbations.
The investigators will conduct a pilot study of a community-based intervention designed to improve outcomes among adolescents living with HIV (ALWH) transitioning to adult HIV care in Lima, Peru. The investigators will enroll adolescents transitioning to adult HIV care, either due to a recent diagnosis or having aged out of their pediatric clinic. ALWH previously lost from care during the transition process will also be invited to participate. The nine-month intervention will consist of (1) logistical, adherence and social support delivered by entry-level health workers who will accompany adolescents during their transition to adult HIV care and (2) group sessions to improve health-related knowledge, skills, and social support. The investigators will assess intervention feasibility and effectiveness in improving medication adherence, psycho-social outcomes, and transition readiness after 6, 9, and 12 months.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the efficacy (how well the medicines work) and tolerability (whether participants stop treatment because of side effects from a drug or treatment) of an anti-TB treatment regimen that compares two doses of linezolid (LZD), combined with bedaquiline (BDQ), delamanid (DLM), and clofazimine (CFZ). This study will also measure the level of these medicines in the participants' blood.
This is a Phase 3, randomized, double-blind, multicenter, non-inferiority study to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of FEP-ZID vs. meropenem in the treatment of hospitalized adults with cUTI or AP. Approximately 528 hospitalized adult subjects (≥ 18 years of age) diagnosed with cUTI or AP will be enrolled in the study. The diagnosis of cUTI or AP will be based on a combination of clinical symptoms and signs plus the presence of pyuria. The total duration of treatment with study drug is 7 to 10 days. Each subject must remain hospitalized during the study drug treatment period; no outpatient parenteral antibiotic therapy is allowed.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate long-term safety and tolerability of dapirolizumab pegol treatment.
This parallel-group, double-blind, placebo-controlled study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of obinutuzumab versus placebo in participants with active, autoantibody-positive systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) who are treated with standard-of-care therapy.
Determine the prevalence of homologous recombination repair (HRR) gene mutations in participants with mCRPC in Latin America (LatAm) between February 2021 and January 2022.
This is a Phase III, global, randomized, open-label, multicenter, study evaluating the efficacy and safety of adjuvant giredestrant compared with endocrine therapy of physician's choice in participants with medium- and high-risk Stage I-III histologically confirmed estrogen receptor (ER)-positive and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative early breast cancer. In addition, an open-label exploratory substudy will explore the safety and efficacy of giredestrant in combination with abemaciclib in a subset of the primary study population.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate pembrolizumab (MK-3475) subcutaneous (SC) administration as the first-line therapy in the treatment of metastatic squamous and nonsquamous NSCLC by assessing the pharmacokinetics (PK), safety, and efficacy of pembrolizumab SC injection in combination with standard-of-care chemotherapy. The primary hypothesis of the study is Pembrolizumab SC is noninferior to pembrolizumab intravenous (IV) for Cycle 1 Area Under Curve (AUC) and Cycle 6 minimal concentration (Ctrough) at steady state. Participants who discontinue study treatment after receiving the first course of 35 administrations of pembrolizumab (approximately up to 2 years) for reasons other than disease progression or intolerability, may be eligible for a second course of pembrolizumab for up to approximately 1 additional year if they have experienced radiographic disease progression per RECIST 1.1 as assessed by BICR after stopping first course treatment.
The aim of the present study is to compare the use of two adhesives for the placement of occlusal sealants, evaluating their retention on the occlusal surfaces. Methods: A randomized clinical trial, in Phase IV, triple-blind, with a split mouth study design will be adopted, which consists of a simple division of the mouth into two parts (right and left) for the first four permanent molars of each patient, where the placement of the materials will be on the right / left side of the mouth and contralateral. They will then be randomly assigned following block randomization procedures with a 1: 1 allocation. 50 participants (6-year-old children) will be considered, and a pair of permanent first molars homologs will be used for each participant. Inclusion criteria include: children whose parents accepted their participation in the study and who signed the Informed Consent, children enrolled in the Pichanaki District school, children who present upper and / or lower permanent molars with absence of deep caries cavities and caries, graded 0 and 1 according to ICDAS II, Green and Vermillion Simplified Oral Hygiene Index of 1-2, have a pair of non-cavitated caries-free counterparts, and children with positive behavior. After selection of patients, the dental sealants will be placed with two different adhesives: the 8th generation adhesive intervention group (Scotchbond universal 3M) and the 5th generation adhesive control group (Single bond 3M), both sealants will use the same flowable resin (Tetric N-flow ivoclar vivadent). Results evaluation: Retention of the sealants will be evaluated at 6, 9 and 12 months. Retention rates of pit and fissure sealant materials will be analyzed according to the split mouth design. The study will use the Mc Nemar test to compare the retention of sealants in the intervention group and the control group at 6, 9 and 12 months. A 95% confidence level will be accepted. In addition, the Cochrane Q test will be applied to determine if there are significant differences in survival for each group of sealants through the evaluation time. The calculation of the survival months of the sealants will be carried out using the actuarial method (survival tables). Expected conclusion: To identify which of the two adhesives presents the best retention after 12 months.
