DUPIlumab Dose REDUCtion in Patients With Controlled Atopic Eczema

The goal of this randomized controlled trial is to study the (cost)effectiveness of extending the intervals between dupilumab doses in patients with well-controlled atopic eczema, while considering physician- and patient-reported disease severity, quality of life, and dupilumab serum trough levels. Patients will be divided randomly into three groups, receiving dupilumab 300 mg every 2 weeks, every 3 weeks, or every 4 weeks. Researchers will then compare the outcomes among these three groups.

Intraperitoneal Irinotecan With Concomitant FOLFOX and Bevacizumab

The rationale of the current study is that the addition of intraperitoneal irinotecan (75 mg) to palliative systemic therapy is feasible and safe, and might result in an increased overall and progression free survival in patients with unresectable colorectal peritoneal metastases. The primary objectives are to explore the overall survival for the addition of intraperitoneal irinotecan (75 mg) to palliative systemic therapy in patients with unresectable colorectal peritoneal metastases. Secondary objectives are to assess the progression-free survival, toxicity profile, patient reported outcomes, costs, tumor response during trial treatment, and the systemic and intraperitoneal pharmacokinetics of irinotecan and SN-38. This is a single-arm, open-label, phase II study and patients will receive intraperitoneal irinotecan (75 mg) in combination with modified FOLFOX4 + bevacizumab.

Participants in the intervention group will receive a 20 minute session with the head mounted VR device on post-operative days 1,2 and 3. Participants in the control group will be treated with conventional post-operative care.

The Effects of 360-degree Virtual Reality on Pre-procedural Anxiety in Patients Awaiting Elective Cardiac Surgery Involving a Sternotomy

Rationale: Patients awaiting cardiac surgery can experience pre-procedural anxiety. This anxiety is associated with increased analgesic needs, increased risk of mortality and prolonged recovery time. Adequate patient education can help diminish pre-procedural anxiety and minimize postoperative complications. Recent studies have demonstrated that Virtual Reality (VR) can function as a useful tool to diminish pre-procedural anxiety in several medical fields. Especially 360 degree VR could familiarize patients with their clinical pathway. Nevertheless, limited to no research on the application of 360 degree VR has been conducted in the context of cardiothoracic surgery yet. Objective: The aim of this study is to explore the effects and possible benefits of 360 degree VR on pre-procedural anxiety in patients awaiting elective cardiac surgery involving a sternotomy, compared to standard forms of patient education. Study design: Single-center, randomized controlled trial Study population: Patients aged 18 or older awaiting elective cardiac surgery involving a sternotomy.

A Personalized Approach to Abdominal Pain in Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Apart from its use to provide insight in IBS disease courses and in clinical research, ESM can provide patients with feedback about individual triggers of their symptoms, and thereby function as part of a personalized therapeutic strategy. This is also true for IBD-IBS. Treatment strategies in IBS and IBD-IBS are largely based on reassurance, identification and elimination of triggering factors, and in more severe cases pharmaco- and psychotherapy. The ESM approach has the potential to increase therapeutic efficacy in IBS and IBD-IBS and will assist patients in disease self-management. The Traqq application can provide more detailed information about the dietary pattern of IBS and IBD-IBS patients. Traqq in combination with ESM will give an overview of abdominal pain and associated symptoms and psychosocial factors are exposed to during the day. The insight provided using ESM and Traqq may improve patient understanding of their personal symptom dynamics and triggers, as well as the physician's insight into the symptom patters of the specific patients, which may aid treatment choice and eventually improve the outcome of any treatment provided in daily clinical care.
