There are about 13332 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Netherlands. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The goal of this observational study is to find out what factors contribute to a good treatment outcome in patients who have received a stent for their dilation of the main abdominal artery (abdominal aortic aneurysm or AAA). The primary goal of this study is to build a prediction model for abdominal aortic aneurysm shrinkage one year after the treatment.
Ambispective post-market data collection on visual symptoms, patient satisfaction and surgeon experience with the TECNIS PC IOL.
Through contact with peers in daycare and (primary)school young children play a large role in spreading respiratory pathogens. In this study the investigators will investigate this transmission, the subsequent colonization and infection dynamics, and their association with clinical symptoms and local immune response through dense minimally-invasive sampling. This study will allow us a unique insight into the transmission-, infection-, and colonization-potential of the respiratory pathogens.
Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is the most common chronic lifestyle-related disorder with a significant impact on quality and healthcare expenditures. Insufficient glycemic control and low fitness level prior to a surgical intervention results in more postoperative complications which leads to a longer hospitalization, higher costs and mortality. A prehabilitation intervention in persons with T2DM prior to surgery should be aimed to improve glucose regulation and translate into better outcomes. However, the classic interventions such as Combined Lifestyle Intervention are labor-intensive and require a high degree of organization and therefore are not used as standard care. The use of biofeedback can provide a solution to this. Biofeedback with a continuous glucose sensor in combination with lifestyle monitoring by activity trackers and coaching prior to surgery is a promising but unexplored prehabilitation strategy. The Nursing Prehabilitation Intervention Supported with Technology for vascular Surgery in People with Type 2 Diabetes (VITAAAL) intervention is a form of blended care. It focuses on improving vitality and glycemic control before surgery with the Diameter application, using intermittently scanned glucose monitoring, nutrition habits and physical activity blended with coaching from a nurse practitioner (NP) diabetes. Because VITAAAL is a novel intervention, the aim of this pilot study is to investigate its usability and feasibility. The pilot study consists of three phases. After the first phase, a specific prehabilitation module will be designed and programmed in the Diameter app. This module will be based on the results and experiences in phase one. In phase two and three the patients will use the adjusted version of the Diameter app that contains implemented findings of the previous phase.
Lung perfusion scintigraphy with 99mTc-MAA and ventilation scintigraphy with Technegas (V/Q SPECT/CT) has been the cornerstone for the detection of pulmonary embolisms (PE) for many decades. In last two decades after the introduction of pulmonary CTA, general PE detection has shifted towards CTA and V/Q SPECT/CT has become the modality of choice for specific patient populations (iodine contrast allergy, poor kidney function, pregnancy, etc.) or indications (pre-operative risk stratification, chronic embolism detection, pulmonary hypertension). V/Q SPECT/CT acquisition is performed on a gamma camera, but this technique has distinct challenges and/or disadvantages. A potential alternative is the nowadays broadly available. 68Ga as a positron emitter allows PET/CT imaging. Replacing 99mTc with 68Ga in both MAA and aerosol suspension is easy and requires no modifications. However, 68Ga-V/Q with PET/CT will resolve many of the disadvantages of V/Q SPECT/CT. International studies have proven safety and feasibility of replacing 99mTc with 68Ga and preliminary work by international colleagues and our institute have shown validated preparations of the radiopharmaceuticals. However, in our institution, clinical translation is hampered by lack of data on technical acquisition parameters for our scanners. The aim of this small study is to get more insights into technical parameters for image acquisition, logistical feasibility of V/Q PET/CT, and confirm preliminary non-inferiority of this new technique over the current clinical standard (V/Q SPECT/CT).
This study is part of the development of a non-invasive lung cancer screening test which aim to identify early-stage lung cancer in patients at high risk for lung cancer.
To acquire data during High Dose Rate (HDR) brachytherapy treatments aiming to track the brachytherapy source inside the patient verifying the delivery of the treatment plan. Medical images (CT,MRI and US) combined with software developed by the investigator will be employed to predict the response of the Investigational product during the treatment and will be used as reference. The IP will be placed on the side of the treatment table and will acquire data during the whole treatment, which will be compared against information derived from the treatment plan. The IP based method can detect errors and information about motion and treatment uncertainties that are not currently available.
This is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, cross-over trial investigating the effects of daily administration of citrus extract on sleep and mental wellbeing.
This study is being conducted to establish the efficacy of ruxolitinib cream in participants with moderate AD who had an inadequate response to, or are intolerant to, or contraindicated to topical corticosteroid (TCS)s and topical calcineurin inhibitor (TCI)s.
This is a non-blinded phase 2 trial in Stage II-IIIa urothelial cancer randomizing pre-operative nivolumab with or without relatlimab to assess whether bladder preservation after dual immunotherapy would be a viable treatment option for patients responding to treatment
